Never heard of this company then got a delinquent mark on my credit report. They never tried to contact me and all of their numbers go to a line with a constant busy signal. It's time to fight back and take Alliance One to task! I just filed complaints with the CA Attorney General and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. I urge you to also. If any attorneys read this, you should seriously consider a class action suit against Alliance One. There are so many reviews about criminally deceptive and fraudulent practices online. This company needs to be shut down. Submit a debt collection complaint to the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau): **. Submit a debt collection complaint to your state's Attorney General: **.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have EVER dealt with. I am a pretty calm individual but this company seems like they intentionally want to aggravate you. I think it might be because if you act irrational they could add on more debt or get you into further trouble with the courts. Highly shady business ethics indeed. I am dealing with this because I forgot to go to court. I am a full time employee, part time student and am in the midst of creating a company with a team. I forget things sometimes, now because of this minor mistake, I am slapped with a huge fee and forced to deal with these incompetent and unprofessional people.
The first person I spoke with explained the debt which was about $400 more than what I was told in court. I told this extremely unprofessional employee that I have the paperwork in front of me. And instead of helping me he nonstop interrupts me and eventually when I've had enough I ask to speak with a manager. He then hangs up on me after a 10 minute hold. I call back, the next individual is just as unprofessional as I explain what had just happened. I ask to speak with a manager and he proceeds to put me on hold, WHICH HOWEVER was not a hold. He left me on the phone so that he could listen to my conversation with another individual about how terrible their service is. He continually said? Excuse me? Can you say that louder please?
I continually told him I am not speaking to him and that I'd like a manager already. He had me on the phone listening quietly for about 20 minutes before he transferred me to someone who finally knew what they were doing. It was a lady whom told me we have not received the information yet from the courts and to please call back at a later time. Really? An hour of 2 incompetent and unprofessional employees to have my question answered within a minute? Absolutely ridiculous. I sincerely hope that the recorded calls are ACTUALLY checked for quality assurance because there is NO quality at all in my instance. Highly suggest avoid this agency at all costs.

Alliance One contracts with actual businesses like Kaiser to collect legitimately owed debts so I wouldn't immediately assume all contact is fraudulent. However, I was called multiple times a day on my cell phone for a debt that was either ficticious or someone else's entirely. This went on for several weeks until one day I received 30 calls in one day. I called back and was told that I had an outstanding debt of $4,000 that needed to be paid within 48 hours or I would be taken to court and have to pay court costs in addition to the $4,000 and risk my credit being dinged.
I knew there must be a mistake, but the caller gave me my own name and address as well as a previous address. The caller could not provide an account number or details of the alleged debt. I've always been meticulous with finances so I was certain that this wasn't a case of unpaid bills. Finally, after calling back several times to speak with a supervisor, I was told that I might not be aware of the debt because it was in my husband Patrick's name. But because they were unable to contact him, I was responsible for paying and would be taken to court if I didn't.
I had never been married. I didn't know anyone named Patrick. I wasn't given any information beyond my name and address, which is public record. No details of the debt. Just wire us the money or else. I told them I'd never been married, this wasn't my debt, and if they didn't stop calling I would go to the Attorney General. It didn't work on me, but if you call enough people some of them will fall for it out of fear.

I paid this company $1300 as part of an agreement to pay 30% down and the remaining balance over 6 months to settle an outstanding ticket. Once they received the money I never heard from them again and was put in default because I missed the 30 days to make another payment. NOT ONE TIME DID I HEAR FROM THEM UNTIL I CALLED A MONTH LATER AND THEY TOLD ME I MISSED THE DEADLINE TO PAY THE MONTHLY BALANCE. $1300 and not a receipt, not a friendly email explaining how and when to pay. NOTHING. And now my license is being suspended because of it. If I could write these clowns off and not pay another dime and take the hit on my credit I would HAPPILY do that just to never have to deal with their complete incompetence again.
Unfortunately they have me by the short hairs and I have to get this settled or run the risk of being pulled over. They couldn't care less because they've already snaked $1300 out of me and know I have to pay the rest in order to stay legal behind the wheel. Absolutely cannot believe the level of deception and poor business ethics practices by this absolute joke of an organization. BUYER BEWARE: THESE GUYS WILL SELL YOU DOWN THE RIVER AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY AND THEN CHARGE YOU TO GET YOUR OWN PADDLE BACK. What a bunch of scumbags.

Always call EZ Pass direct before paying and if you do owe then pay EZ Pass direct so this Bogus company doesn't that their commission from your payment.

I have E-Zpass and any violations come from them NOT port authority. I know how much my tolls are and they said one toll is $14, this is not true even going into NY. I tell them to stop taking my money and she says there's nothing they can do about it because the garnishments have already been stopped. Yet the next week it happened again. I just started getting calls from Alliance One a couple months ago on a debt from 2008 of a payday loan that I didn't know anything of, and with it being that long. I don't even remember. They change the amount several times stating if I pay out the amount over the phone, it would settle the debt. It started off with 1,400 and when I called back, they stated I owed 900.00. Today I received a call from my cousin stating she received a call from them on me...and I called them when I got home and they stated that they sent out letters concerning my bill. I have not received one bill stating a debt I owe, and that was the reason they was calling to settle it over the phone. I told them I will be getting me a lawyer, because I was not going to give them my credit card number. This is A SCAM!!!

I received a letter from the California Franchise Tax Board stating that I owe money to a state, local or government agency. The agency reports that I owe them so they gave my tax return to them. I need to contact the agency for details. I contacted Alliance One Receivables and was informed that I owed $5,000 for three court cases from 1997. They gave me dates and bogus case numbers. When I tried to look up the cases numbers online it didn't work because the numbers were one digit short, (7 instead of 8).
I called those A people back asking for an 8 digit number, which of course they didn't have. They said to go to the court in person and check their records. I went to the court records and they said the case numbers aren't real. Alliance One Receivables scammed the State of California Franchise Tax Board for my refund. This is straight up FRAUD committed by Alliance One Receivables. What's it going to take to get my money back and shut these thieves down?

Acquired a ticket Thursday 10/6/05 at 5:10 PM for having expired registration and no proof of insurance. Officer ** Badge number ** cited me - told me to fix the problem, come to the police station and he would sign it off. I needed to go to the Minor Defense Division in Vista CA to ask for a an extension and was denied so I pleaded no contest. Was told to pay the stupid fee and move on. Social Security Administration told me that the money for me to live on, not to pay a ticket with. It was then transferred to the Franchised Tax Board, defaulted after 5 years and is now back with Alliance One. Called them last Friday and told them that I don't have the money to pay them with. Spoke with a lady while on speaker phone with my family member (who is also my representative payee) that I am not legally bound to pay the fee but I am willing to do so. I can make 22 payments of 30 dollars each and have the fee done and over with.
You would have thought that they would have dismissed the case being that I am on a fixed budget and am the proud owner of a bus pass. They lady told me that I would need to pay the fee in order to drive again and if I didn't she would have me arrested for not paying the fee in such a long time. She told me that she had my address and that they could come and arrest me. Did she not hear me the first time? So now I will go and pay my first installment of $30 and put on a nice smile and explain to her that the feds own me, not her or even Alliance One. Sorry to sound like the grinch or something, but something has gotta give.

I called into Alliance 1 of my own free will to settle a credit card debt that was charged off. The first woman who was handling my account was very sweet at first and quickly got me a good settlement as long as I paid three bulk payments. The payments were set up, but a week later i called back to cancel our arrangement because something more pressing came up and I wasn't able to spare the money. All of the sudden "their client wanted the full amount" this month.
I explained that obviously if I couldn't pay the previous amount, I couldn't pay the full amount. I gave her a number that I could pay monthly but apparently "the client said" they could only have the full amount. Now, I'm not naive. I'm in the midst of a divorce and I've talked to several debt collectors so I know how it works. I know they'll accept any money I can give them, but for whatever reason, the agents at Alliance One think if they become mean and forceful, somehow I'll be able to give them a larger amount of money, which obviously isn't the case or I wouldn't be in this position.
I was put on the phone with her "supervisor" who demanded to know what had changed between now and last week and kept saying "well I'm really confused, last week you could pay the amount and all the sudden you can't so i want to know what's so important." He was really rude and mean and it was upsetting. I'm in the midst of a divorce and I need a new car, and am trying to work with collection agencies to settle my debt like a responsible adult, but this really threw me off. Why would you treat someone who is not evading you, but is rather trying to pay you, with such disrespect?
They kept trying to push for me to pay a larger amount than i was capable, and finally after all that "oh now our client will accept smaller monthly payments". I'm not stupid. I know what was going on. It's pathetic that in the year 2015, these agents still believe they're going to get anywhere with people who are in debt and trying to compromise with you by treating them this way.

I was making regular on time payments to the court in San Francisco. I never sent it in late or skipped a payment in 6 years. I am on disability, so my payments were small. About 3 months ago I got a letter from Alliance One. I realized it was a debt collection agency, so I immediately called them to see what was up. They told me not to worry, that they were just taking over the court's receivables, and that nothing would change, just to keep making the same payments, only send the payments to them each month.
Then about 3 months ago, I got a phone call from them telling me that I had to increase my payments. I told them I could not, and she told me that they would start coming after me in 6 months to get a higher amount from me. Just cannot do it. Here is what I found on their website: "We must, at all times, comply with high ethical standards, treat customers fairly, and comply with both the 'letter' and 'spirit' of all applicable laws, codes, rules, regulations and standards of good market practice." HUGE lie! HUGE. I am contacting attorneys to find out what my rights are, and I am sorry for anyone who has to deal with this highly unethical agency.

I had a $2,300 fine from the year 2000. Flash forward to 2014 on Halloween. My bank calls me and tell me all my accounts were wiped out for a garnishment. The day before rent is due. When my bank called I filed paperwork immediately and served Alliance One. By law I have 28 days to respond to their writ from the date it was filed and guess what, I was served on the 28th day at 4:50pm. That's is a complete violation of my rights, in almost 15 years they never sent a bill not once. But every few years they are in court filing extensions on my debt without my knowledge.
This was removed from my credit report years ago so I thought it was gone. Well it would have been if I received a bill or they weren't being sneaky. The total bill with their fees is now $7900 which I paid in full. Numerous court dates and missing work and threats from their unprofessional lawyer has my life upside down. It has been paid off since the beginning of December and now they don't know what happened to my first payment. The garnishment is still on my account and their lawyer keeps filing the wrong paperwork to have it removed. They have the worst "customer service." I come home from work to find on my caller I.D. a phone number repeated over the course of the day 32 times. Thinking that someone was in great need to contact me, I called the number. To my surprises a woman with a very thick accent answered with this greeting. "Good afternoon James". I responded, "Good afternoon, who is this?" She then asked me for my social security number to verify who I was. I again asked who I was speaking to and again she asked me for my social security number. I basically said that I wasn't giving anyone anything without knowing who I was speaking with, even then I probably wouldn't. She hung up on me.
About a minute or so my phone rings, same number, I answered, different woman, same demand for my social security number. She was not much more cooperative than the first but I did manage to pry the name of the company that she worked for out of her. Alliance One. I asked her what Alliance One was and all she would tell me was that it was a "Financial Institution", nothing more. She still wanted my social security number. I of course refused. She hung up. Being pigheaded I called the number back and again the person answered with my name. I haven't been creep out like that for a long time. Anyway she said that if I supplied her with my phone number for proof of I.D. she would tell me what was going on.
If any of you dealt with this sort of situation you know why this is taking forever to get to the point. I told her that she already had my phone number and so on so forth. I gave her the number, couldn't hurt she already had it. She then told me that I had an outstanding balance of $480.00 for a Capital One card from 7 or 8 years ago. I told her as nicely that I could that I never had a Capital One card. "Oh, yes you did," she said. And tried to convince me that I would go to jail or worse if I didn't resolve this issue immediately.
The long and the short of it is, I threatened to call my state Attorney General's office if she or anyone else called me again and hung up. The phone immediately rang. It was them. I didn't answer. I turned off the ringer and could see the caller I.D. light up about 10 more times before they finally gave up. Can't wait for tomorrow, I'm off. The point of this soliloquy is that these companies make their living off of robbing people without the benefit of sticking a gun in your face. They are bottom feeders and the authorities at large allow it to continue on. I still need to call Attorney General's office. I will do so in the morning.

Alliance One has the contract with all the courts in Snohomish County at least. I can't understand why the courts deal with these thugs. Depending on who you happen to get on the phone, the amount you pay varies and if you get someone who is having a bad day, they make it as high and as difficult as it possible. I paid 150.00 a payday on tickets I got years ago (most recent one was in 2005) for 2 years, for a total of over 4000.00. Out of which they kept more than 2000.00. This was out of my 450.00 paycheck and the tickets were for things like loud muffler, expired tabs.
I'm not saying that I shouldn't have to pay for tickets that are my responsibility, but why should I have to pay them thousands of dollars just to sit there and take my money? There used to be other collection agencies around that might not have been pleasant but were not the monstrosity that is Alliance One. Where does their alliance lay anyway? I just got home from court. I'm still in shock!!!!! I went to court 'cuz when I first went to the DMV (to pay for my expired license, as I'd just spent 2 years in the hospital as the victim of a car accident) - the DMV said I couldn't have my license 'cuz Alliance One was showing one 8-yr.-old ticket for a 'cellphone'?? I knew I'd paid that ticket 8 yrs ago.
So, I went to court- Alliance One told me I "never appeared and never paid it." They said they're going to hold my driver's license until I pay them $7330.00??!! Then I went to court, saw a judge - who told me that even though I was right, I 'did' appear for that ticket - the court can't help me??? My only option is to give Alliance One the full $7330.00!!! I am now disabled - which means I only receive SSI $$, and must be able to use my car!!!! What am I supposed to do now??? (Even if I had the $$$ - I'll never pay for something I don't owe!!!).

I do not know if Alliance One had any legitimate contracts with any courts, state of government agencies. If they do, those agencies need to cancel those contracts a.s.a.p. Mostly it appears that this is a SCAM where they search old public records and credit reports and send letter, then, from what I have read, make serious threats against people if they do not pay immediately. THIS IS EXACTLY THE M.O. OF A MAJOR SCAM GOING ON IN CHICAGO FOR YEARS. THE MONEY YOU PAY NEVER GOES TO THE REAL CREDITORS, if in fact there is a real creditor. They focus on people who are out of the area, retired, or disabled (hack those databases?).
If any collection agency bothers you with robo calls or repeated calls or threats inform them that you are filing a CEASE AND DESIST ORDER, and they can only contact you by mail. ALWAYS REQUEST documentation of the debt owed, with details. If they say you have to contact the court-doctor-etc, they are frauds! Follow up with a letter, with all of the account information, and stating they are to CEASE AND DESIST calling you! You can also ask again for the 'discovery' or proof of the debt with details. If they make threats (Like cancelling your license, or having you arrested) CALL YOUR FEDERAL STATES ATTORNEY AND FILE A COMPLAINT - THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW and they know it. Also, always ask for the caller's name and employee ID, and their mailing address - many scammers hang up. Keep a note in your files or calendar. If they call back, ask their name, then say, "You are calling in violation of a CEASE & DESIST Order", and hang up immediately. If they call again do the same, then call the Feds.
My latest letter is for a 'violation' - no details, for plates that are not mine (I may have had the number many years ago - that car was totaled), and I live in Illinois and the violation was in Washington, a state I have NEVER been to. These companies, if legit, are required by law to do their 'due diligence', to confirm that the debt is really owed and you really owe it. Many of the collectors that call and put pressure on you are FRAUDS & SCAMS. Other times one company sells a list of old uncollected debts to another company, it does not mean that the people calling you would ever pay off your creditor.

It started that I didn't pay my ticket and that was 3 or 4 years ago. They wanted me to pay my old ticket and if I don't, they sent me envelope from Olympia, Washington stating that if I don't pay my ticket, my driver's license will get suspended. And they did. Every time I've been driving on the road, the cops run my license plate and I get pulled over and I would go to jail and time serve it. But every time I go to court and time serve my traffic ticket, the court charged me $1,300 after spending 9 days in jail. Other county, I served 13 days for time serve and after that the court charged me $900.00. It's like after I served 9 to 13 days in jail, and time served it. The court slaps me with $900.00 or $1,300 for court fee! It's like another ticket charge that I already time served, and it never ended.
The judge should tell me, "Since you spent 9 or 13 days in jail, it's like you paid your ticket for time served, and now, you can get your driver's license back." But instead, I still owed the collection agency about $30,000 or more. I think that's too much abuse for my own, hard experiences. I shouldn't go to jail a lot if the city of Seattle put me on a private collection agency. If the city courts put anybody in private collection agencies, Meaning, the city justice got no more business or rights to collect from me or anybody.
To me, Alliance One builds their own enforcer, a private company that got no rights to put anybody in jail. Alliance One is not even part of the government. They don't work or protect the public... I should know because I am a real public servant who works for the United States Postal Service and served 15 years and retired as a proud Letter Carrier. They treated me like a bad criminal person. All I wanted is to get my driver's license back and leave me alone and I know Washington State only will decide if they will suspend your driver license. Olympia will suspend your driver's license if you're not making a payment for child support and you left your child unattended while the car is running and the most is D.U.I.

While I believe that no collection agency is good, this one is especially low down. They have a contract with the courts in my state and they have the ability to suspend drivers' licenses. My now husband before we got married (or even dating for that matter) racked up a ton of tickets and never went to his court date or paid the fines. It later caught up with him 8 years later when the mailman serves us with court papers stating that Alliance One is in the process of garnishing wages. When we called the collection agency, a very nasty woman told us that my husband (who at the time did not have his driver's license) could not be put on a payment plan and could not get his license reinstated. She also told us that he would have to pay off $8,500 in full in order to stop the garnishment.
I was shocked that the balance was so high. Later I found out that the actual amount assigned by Lynwood courts were $5,878.00 but because my husband's accounts were sitting in collections for 8 years, they added $2622. We were paying as agreed until one day we get a letter in the mail stating that my husband's license was going to be suspended due to the fact that we did not make full payment. I was shocked. I keep up on all the bills and this was one of the most important bills that my household pays. They tired to tell me that I only paid $60 on a bill that is usually $250 per month. They told me to produce a receipt and I could not. They made us pay $1300 to reinstate the program.
I was pissed because the supervisor told me later that it was not necessary to make a payment that large. It was most likely because that particular collector needs to hit sales goals! She also raised our payment from $250 to $300 per month. Needless to say, we are almost in the clear of these **. Word of advice: keep all receipts and don't pay over the phone. If you can pay at the courthouse, do it. They charge $10 to pay over the phone fee. Also if you can pay your account off in full, you should. Because we also learned that they charge 17% a month on collection accounts even if you are paying as agreed. They are greedy folks.

Alliance One called stating that I owed $664.00 on a ticket that I paid in full years ago. This ticket was on my credit report and my license was suspended as a result. I went to the courthouse, stood in a long line outside and paid the amount I owed along with the amount for the abstract. I got my license back and this was removed from my credit report. Courtney called and I explained this to her. She stated she needed proof.
I hung up and called Jose, who is supposed to be a supervisor. He said the same thing and then added that it was still on my credit report. I told him it was not on my credit report. I check my report regularly and I demanded that they find the payment and not call me anymore. The full payment was made in 2009 and they call me 2013 August 8 and 9...4 years later asking for proof. THIS IS A SCAM...REPORTING TO THE BBB...

I processed my payment on June 11th, 2013 and was unable to print my receipt to keep for my records; however my ink cartridge was out and I decided to print at work the following day. Unfortunately, I made an error of notating my information and making a second process and was charged a second time on my credit card statement. I called to communicate this information and was told by a female customer service representative that I would be reimbursed the $20.00 amount processed in error in about 5-7 business days.
As of today, no such reimbursement has been posted on my credit card statement, so I decided to follow up with a call. When I called customer service for a second time I spoke to a male customer service representative and indicated notes were indeed in the system; however what the previous representative did not explain was that only the $10 will be reimbursed and not the "processing fee". I was irate because my original payment already was $610.00 and now on top of that was another $20.00 fee. I asked to speak to a supervisor and said he was going to place me on hold and look for one.
When he returned to the line after being on hold for about 20-30 minutes, he stated he spoke to his supervisor and unfortunately they can only honor the $10.00 reimbursement and the other ten dollars were for processing fee and those are non-refundable. He also indicated this will be posting on my credit card account until July 8th 2013. I stated to him, "This is not fair, so much money being charged, and initially this was an error." He stated that it was beyond his control and this was already confirmed by his supervisor. I thanked him for nothing and still hesitated my frustration. Basically after that, he said, "Thank you for calling," and disconnected.
This is the worst type of customer service I have experienced. Currently, I myself work in customer service and would have given at least options to the customer, at least a possible way of making that printable receipt for the client's records. In this case, nowhere in the website does it have an opportunity to print a receipt or view your last payment!

My husband received a speeding ticket in March 2013. We were going to fight the violation and, with a busy life, spaced out the ticket all together. We got a letter in the mail saying his license would be suspended on June 3rd if he did not make the payment in full. I logged onto the website they provided, which was to Alliance One, entered the account number and made the payment. It said it was approved and the transaction was successful. I took a screenshot of the transaction for my records and also a screenshot of my bank statement showing the payment was made on May 28th.
On Saturday, June 15th, my husband received a letter saying that he not only owed the ticket fine of $176.00, but also other fees and interest - making the total over $600.00. I then looked to see if his license was valid since they sent us this letter and sure enough, his license was suspended. He called Alliance One first thing Monday morning. The lady gave him the runaround and finally said she had to check with their sister company, Signal Credit. After a few minutes, she came back and said that they had in fact gotten the payment. But it had not been sent to the court. She told him he had to call the court and said he might have to pay fees in order to reinstate his license, even though he made the payment before the due date. She said it was his problem to figure out, couldn't help and hung up on him. He then called the court.
They told him that they showed no payment and that he had to contact Alliance One. He called back once again and explained the situation. He was told they would make sure to submit his paperwork to the court. It is now Wednesday, June 19th, and his license is still suspended. He drives for his job and looks forward to spending his lunch break trying to figure this out tomorrow.

I had an account with Capital One that went to Collections. Alliance One received the account; I've been paying Alliance One since February of this year (2012), but they call all the time. The issue is in the fact that they are calling me to collect money, but they're being paid $50 every month via a debt consolidation company I'm using to help me pay off my debt. If you are with Alliance One, when you call me, expect to be hung up on. You're wasting your time calling me to discuss payment because I'm going to continue paying you $50 a month and no more until the debt is paid.

Failure To Validate Debt - Removed - Put On As 3 Debts: Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I could really use some help here regarding the above. Items were shipped to my home that I never ordered, no bills ever received, no calls ever received, had absolutely no knowledge of any outstanding balances until a credit check right before closing on a house showed 3 new collection accounts from Alliance One Collection Agency. Alliance One is in direct violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, please see the explanation below:
When these boxes arrived we assumed that they were sent by the Insurance Company. We figured someone would contact us regarding the items and tell us how to go about returning them. They were marked on the outside of the box as Sleep Central, not Rotech. We put the boxes in the closet expecting to hear from someone regarding them but never did. No bill, no communication. In the interim, my job changed insurance carriers twice since my initial and only contact with a Rotech representative back about 3 years ago.
We had forgotten all about the boxes as it was well over a year ago, January when the last box arrived. As I stated previously, they were shoved into the closet until we heard from someone looking for them or billing for them and then we would have known what to do with them and how to go about returning them.
I was working on repairing my credit back in November and found a charge from Alliance One that stated simply “medical” so I did a validation of debt letter according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act and gave them more than the required 30 days to respond. They never responded and in early January we forwarded a copy of the validation letter and green card to the 3 credit bureaus and had them deleted from the reports for failure to comply with the validation letter.
I got my credit score up high enough, qualified for a VA Loan and less than 1 week before closing on a house, they re-checked the credit and it plummeted 51 points. This was due to Alliance One who had been deleted by the credit bureaus back in January adding 3 collection accounts under my name one for each box, three months after being deleted. They listed Rotech in the debt on the credit report this time instead of just “medical” as it was previously reported. Obviously, in an effort to get around the Fair Credit Reporting Act by making it look like 3 new accounts instead of the original account that gave no information as to what the debt was for other than “medical”.
I had absolutely no idea about this until I contacted Equifax by phone when my credit dropped down 50 points, and they told me what was going on. So my credit was destroyed for items I never requested, ordered, opened or used. I never signed any agreements with them for automatic deliveries or anything of that nature. So how do they get away with this sort of thing?
Rotech is the one who obviously reported it to the Collection Agency so they should be liable for having it removed. They can send you to collection but they cannot have it removed? I don't believe that for a minute.
I have contacted at least 20 people at Rotech by phone who said they can't do anything about it and that I need to talk to the collection agency. If I contact the collection agency it will bring these items as current collections which they are showing as of now due to their deceitful practices and wiggling their way around the laws. I contacted every number of Rotech I could find on the internet to do with billing or corporate. I demanded to speak to their legal department, all of them denying that they even have a legal department. Yet they list an attorney named Rebecca something as their legal counsel on their website online. Of course, there is no contact information for her at all.
After being transferred to a complaint hotline like 7 times in one day, speaking with their billing department and a personal visit to the Stuart branch office. I left a message threatening a lawsuit at their Corporate Offices in Orlando if someone did not get back to me within 24 hours. The next day I received a call from someone named Juan **. This was over a week ago, he promised it would be taken care of and someone would get back to us within 48 hours. More lies, I have called his office everyday this week and left voice mail messages for him to return my call, he has failed to do so. I contacted the office again today and the woman who answered the phone said she was going directly to his office to give him the message to return my call, he never did.
In this past month, their phony charges cost us the ability to use VA Financing, which cost us a home that we invested several hundred dollars on inspections and appraisals. We have found another house and it is costing us well over $6,000 in closing costs plus a 3.5% down payment to now go FHA on the loan on this property because the score fell below the VA minimum standard. All due to this mess created by Rotech and Alliance One. We will also have to pay several hundreds of dollars each year for PMI which brings the mortgage way up all because someone decided to order supplies and mail them to us to make their monthly sales quota or whatever reason they chose to give. I haven't used the device or any of these supplies for over two years as I cannot sleep with the device on my face.
So, I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with Ms. ** at the Attorney General's Office. Aside from this letter, I filed a complaint directly through your e-mail Ms. **. I have filed a complaint with the FTC over a week ago against Alliance One collection agency because they cost us a house that we paid for inspection and appraisal fees due to their unorthodox practices, not to mention the embarrassment of having to tell the sellers that we can't get the loan now.
I tried to take the boxes back to the Stuart Office where Sleep Central said the order originated from at the advice of a man named Chris a supervisor at Sleep Central. I went the next morning. Their answer at the Stuart Office, where the boxes originated from, was that they didn't know the address or phone number, we are still at the same address that the boxes were delivered to. They also told us that they billed our insurance company and it was denied after the first box. So, I asked why then would you send out 2 more boxes. I was also rudely told in a condescending manner that had I “bothered to open the boxes I would see for myself that I had “120 days to return the items”, so it's against company policy to accept returns. They claim that it said if you did not order or do not want the supplies, to return them within 120 days. As I stated before, I never opened the boxes because I never ordered them.
We have had 3 different insurance carriers since our only dealing with them 3 years prior. I am contemplating filing a lawsuit for damages due to the loss of money prepaid on the first house, and now, having to lay out almost $10,000 more than I should have to being a veteran because they took it upon themselves to send out boxes of supplies that were never ordered by anyone in our home or our doctor.
They have destroyed my credit and my ability to use my VA Loan benefit that I earned while serving in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict. Alliance One, after being deleted by the 3 credit bureaus show up in the past month with the same debt and instead of one account that they showed previously, they listed all 3 boxes as different accounts making 3 open collection accounts causing my score to drop over 50 points and this time added "Rotech" instead of "medical." I guess, in an effort to get around the Fair Credit Reporting Act and make it look like 3 new collection accounts as opposed to the same one that I had deleted back in December. They deliberately listed the debts individually to show as 3 collection accounts to have a more derogatory impact on my credit when they are all the same account.
I already contacted the FTC regarding the Alliance One Collection Agency and filed a complaint with them. Further, I sent a complaint via e-mail to Ms. ** office today. We are in the process of buying a house and have to lay out every dime we have now for closing costs and down payments all because of debts that they falsely claimed.
There are no orders from us, no conversations asking for this merchandise and no bills ever forwarded for payment of same. How can they keep getting away with this stuff and not be stopped? Someone kindly contact me and tell me what venue I need to use to get this off of my credit report and get these people to take their merchandise back. I challenge them to come forward with an order form from either myself or my wife for any of the supplies that they sent. They cannot because it never happened. How does a person get relief from this sort of thing, it's got to be illegal.
This is insanity if I was to send someone something that they never ordered, never sent them a bill and then hire a collection agency to go after them and destroy their credit? Is this legal? I think not. I firmly believe that if I took up doing that I would be arrested for fraud so how do these people get away with this? Please tell me who to contact. I need this done ASAP. I am under contract on another house and if I can get this off of my report within the next week or so I can re apply for VA Financing and not have to lay out over $10,000.00. Otherwise, I am requesting that the Attorney General's Office kindly tell me where I need to go to take legal action as deemed necessary to recover the damages of the prior house costs and the cost I will need to lay out for this home.
I thank you for your attention to this matter. These people are destroying people’s lives with fake debts and sneaky deceitful collection practices. Alliance One should be shut down. There are hundreds of reports out there of their devious behavior.
I have sent several e-mails to Mr. ** at Alliance One telling him he failed to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and demanding that these items be deleted. He has not had the decency to even respond to my e-mails or my letter, forwarding him copies of the original validation letter and green certified card. This was over 3 weeks ago, that the paperwork was sent to him and he has failed to remove the items from the credit report or even respond to the e-mails or the letter forwarded with the proof that they had the opportunity to prove this debt months ago.
I ask the Attorney General's Office to please advise who would receive service of a summons and complaint in Florida for Alliance One, who is headquartered in another state, which I believe is Pennsylvania? Also, since via telephone Rotech claims not to have a legal department, if you can provide me with their registered agent in Florida who can accept service on their behalf. If you need any further information or need to discuss this, please contact me at the number listed above. Thank you for any help you can provide, it will be deeply appreciated.

I received a phone call from my neighbor across the street from me today (Sept 27th 2011) saying that a man from "Alliance" called her yesterday looking for my daughter. His name was Seth. He asked my neighbor if she was my daughter. My neighbor told him she was not. He asked her if she knew my daughter's phone number, she does not know it, and told him so. He said my daughter had put her phone number down as a contact number.
I apologized to her for the call and told her I had no idea who he was. I am a recent victim of a robbery and was concerned for her safety since we both were baffled. She obviously was distressed enough to take the time to call me about this.
Later this evening, I received a phone call from an 866 area code which I answered. A man asked if I was my daughter. I said that I was not. He asked me if I knew how to contact her. Not knowing who he was, I said, "No". I then asked him who he was and he said, "Seth, with Alliance 1". I asked him to wait a minute so I could get his information. I got a pencil and paper and asked him his name. He replied, "Seth **, with Alliance 1" He said that he was trying to contact my daughter regarding settling a debt.
After I got his information, I told him that my neighbor had called and told me that a man named Seth contacted her yesterday and was looking for my daughter. He said that he had just received her file and wasn't the one who called her. When I replied to him that the elderly woman told me the man was from Alliance and that it was about a debt collection, he replied that he never said that. It seemed he was backtracking now. He also told me that he had removed my neighbor's name from his call list and that he would now remove mine as well, since she does not live here any longer.
I called my daughter after I spoke with him and asked if she had given my neighbor's phone down as a contact number and she said that she did not. I told him that I would inform his superiors of his actions. As of yet, I have not done so. I am wondering if it would really do any good to do so.
I find it troubling that debt collection agencies are allowed to harass my neighbors.

Alliance One contacted me about a fraudulent and fabricated debt that was 10-years-old. The matter was fully adjudicated in 2001. Alliance One is fraudulently attempting to collect a debt that should have never existed to begin with because the original matter was fabricated. It was in fact fully paid as documented with legal court receipts, and as a result the matter was fully dismissed, discharged and closed through court-ordered adjudication.
Even worse, even if the fraudulent debt were valid, the debt is time-barred, through the statute-of-limitations. Further still, the Alliance One representative repeatedly lied about where they were located, what their first and last name was, and even the telephone number from where they were calling from.
Alliance One has been repeatedly censured, fined and civilly prosecuted for breaking state and federal law. Alliance One is headed for major criminal-prosecution and its owners and employees are headed to jail. They have repeatedly broken the law by fraudulently attempting to collect debt that has already been satisfied in full or never existed to begin with. The money the company illegally obtains is used to fund wild booze and drug parties in which the owners and employees pay bribes and commit graft in order to remain in business and steal more money. This is part of the problem in America today and it must be stopped.
Alliance One is a fraudulent, criminal enterprise and should be fully prosecuted under the R.I.C.O statutes. Contact your State Attorney-General office to initiate a complaint and stop Alliance One from stealing any more money and utilizing those funds to commit more criminal acts.

When I asked what country they were calling from, because both Candy and the other fellow had very strong Eastern European accents, they told me they were in Pennsylvania but were from Jamaica! I'm going to call the PA Attorney's General office on Monday, as well as Immigration. I don't think I have ever in my life had anyone be so rude to me. Alliance One called me saying that I owed $17,000 to the State Pharmacy Board of Nevada dating from 2003. I asked for the invoice and proof of the alleged collections account and they stated that they didn't have anything because it was done electronically but they kept trying to get me to make a payment for the alleged debt. I have never worked in the pharmacy/medical field and I asked if it was possible that I owe money to a state agency. They tried telling me that it was probably a student loan debt of which I know is not true. I called the State Pharmacy Board of Nevada myself and they told me that they have no record of me owing them any money and that they don't use an outside collections agency to collect on debts. I was told by the lady that runs the State Pharmacy Board that the collections notice was either a scam or a mistake.
I called Alliance One back to tell them all of this and spoke with a manager (Allan) demanding to see proof of their collections notice. He said that he would mail it to me and that if it was a mistake, it was easy to fix. The scary part is that they had my Social Security number, my old address from where I lived in 2003 and of course my phone number. It has been a month since I first called Alliance One and I have yet to receive any copy of the collections account. I have called Allan back three times and left a message to him, of which he has not returned my calls.
This company needs to be reported to the California Attorney General and FBI immediately. I'm worried about how much power they actually have or if they are a real collections agency because I have a perfect credit and I have never been late on a payment (that's how I knew it was a scam from the beginning) and my husband is an attorney and I will sue them if they affect my credit score in any way.

I have a debt to Capital One that has been hanging over my head for a while now. I've tried to explain my situation to them numerous times. They seem concerned only to the point where they will do their bare minimum; but that's another matter. What's relevant is that I got a letter today from Alliance One to the effect that my account has been referred to them. I called the phone number provided by the letter, in the hopes that I would relate my situation to them, and that they would be a bit more understanding. I dialed the number. I was told by a recording that calls about Capital One accounts should be made to C.O. directly. After that, the call disconnected.
Suspicious, I found Alliance One's website, and called the number provided for questions about collection notices. Thankfully, an actual person named Ed answered. I told him the situation, and he gave me another number to call; a number that went straight to voicemail without any greeting to indicate whose voicemail it was. I hung up and called Ed back. He gave me another number, which told me the same thing as the number provided by the letter. Again, I hung up and called Ed back. He told me that as of today, October 22nd, Alliance One was no longer handling Capital One accounts. He suggested that at time the letter was written, they still were.
I informed him that the letter was dated October 19th. I asked if he was indeed saying that in the three days since my letter, Alliance One had decided and implemented the decision - to no longer handle Capital One accounts. He said yes. I asked if I might speak with the person who told him this, to which he simply said "No". On the webpage where I found the number to talk to Ed, I saw another number simply titled "credit cards". Having no other recourse, I called it. I provided the account number from the letter, and the recording said that they couldn't find it in their system. Fair enough. So, after pressing the pound sign a couple of times, I was told by recording to hold for the next available operator. After fifteen minutes of waiting, it interspersed with a different recorded voice saying that my business was important to "them", and that my call would be answered in the order it was received. I decided to hang up and try again later.
I gave it a good 20 minutes to let the volume of calls lessen a bit, and called again. This time, after being asked to hold, I got sent to voicemail. However, the greeting simply said that the voicemail's owner was a woman named Vicki; not even Vicki with Alliance One - just Vicki. So, acting like any sane person, I hung up, put the letter in a safe place, and I am currently waiting for Alliance One to call me. I have no hope that I will be dealing with a competent company, or one that actually cares about the people it's trying to collect from. I understand that they, and to the same extent Capital One, are just doing their job, but a little consideration would be nice.

He did not know what bill he was talking about since NCO collections is a rip-off, illegitimate company. He was calling me on something he knew nothing about. Now here is a collection company hired by a collection company to collect on a debt they know nothing about. What does that tell you? I am turning these people over to the Federal Trade Commission this afternoon. Seems to me this should be illegal. A collection company hired by a collection company who knows nothing of what they are trying to collect on. NCO should be brought into federal authorities for this kind of tactics.
Anyone who is being or has been harassed by NCO here is a "heads up" that NCO is hiring another collection company to do its collecting. I do not owe one thin dime to NCO collection and think they are nothing but "scum of the earth". And that includes the people who work for them. Do not fall for Alliance One collections. They are nothing but "junk collectors". Do not pay them one thin dime. These people call and hang up continually and harass you with "rambling" that we cannot understand and have no idea of what they are collecting. I called on Wed after had told them what had happen to my license and was told that I should have paid my bill by a manager and I should not be annoyed (at lest that who she say she was).
I call Thursday and was told the court told them to tell me that it takes 5 days before the went through. On Friday I went to Vancouver Court and was shown as well as told they still had not received a faxed with my name showing payment and was told and given direction to AllanceOne in Vancouver, WA to get paper work stating payment. I did do this, bringing it back to the department of the court where traffic tickets were paid. I was given a certificate of Adjudication dated 7-25-08 and was told the paper work I brought in was my copy and the court did not have paper work yet. When I went to Portland, Or to DMV was told I had to pay a 75.00 fee. reinstatement fee, which I did.

Creditors are calling me constantly for two minor credit card debts that belong to my mother. Mother has been ill and hospitalized for months, she is suffering from dementia and is legally deaf. There is no end to this. Yes, I have Power of Attorney, in one company, I sent it and tried to negotiate a minimum payment asking them to eliminate all excess fees. Negative, would not do, wanted a $532. payment for a bill approx. total $ 1,300.
Mother began to forget everything prior to her extended hospital stay, bills that I thought had been paid were not. This only involves 2 credit cards, unsecured, one for $1,300, the other approx. the same. She lives only from Social Security without assets. My phone # was listed since she is unable to hear. Taking care of her is a 24/7 job. I also have a disabled husband. This is not my debt, what can happen to this poor 83 lady with dementia? They insist on speaking to a deaf lady. The calls come Sunday as well as any other day. I stated the situation. To no avail. Help
Dementia and a hyponatremia seizure resulted in an extended hospital stay, currently lives with daughter, myself, is not capable of performing everyday living activities, lives only on social security.

I was making payments to a debt consolidation company, but decided that I could pay off accounts alot faster if I made arrangements with my creditors. All my creditors, nut Alliance One were willing to work with me. Stephanie called my office sometimes five times a day, harassing the receptionist. Telling her to go find me. I told Stephanie that I could not get calls at work. I eventually told her I ws willing to pay $100 a month (only owe $500, she agreed and took down my account number. The first month they only took the $100, but the next month they tried to take $400, I told my bank to return the withdrawal.
She called my house and told my 8 year old daughter, that I was going to jail for writing bad checks. I told her to take me to court, at that point my daughter was hysterical. She tried calling on several other occassions, I just hung up the phone. A few days later a Steve calls me and wants to work it out. I didn't not want to pay them a dime after all that happened, but I am making the $100 monthly. They are the rudest people I have ever had to deal with. I am not the type of person to run up bills, just for the heck of it. I am a single mom, and fell on some hard times. I tried expalining that, but she was trained to be a pitbull.

Hi, This should be a quick one. We get these calls from Alliance One for a Santo that had our number I guess 6 years earlier. After numerous messages on our answering machine like every 6 months we call back and tell them to take us off the list that there is no Santo here, and they put us back on there call list every 6 months. This has been going on for like 5 years.

I work for the dept of defense as a Marine Corps federal employee. I have been contacted several times by this company and have informed them to contact me by US mail and that my employer does not allow collection calls however I did not know that I had to inform them in writing (I'm sending them a letter today). I'm still receiving the calls.
On Aug 17, 2005 Ms. Kennedy call (after working hours) and told the Commanding Officer's Secretary that she wanted to speak to the commanding offer in regards to me. The secretary forwarded the call to my immediate supervisor a LtCol. She told my boss that she is representing a collection company and had been trying to get in touch with me regarding a non-payment and also gave him a ref number of the account she was trying to collect on.
When I returned to work the next day, my boss called me into his office and submitted me with a written letter (Memo for the Record) for financial responsibilities as a GS employee in accordance with Marine Corps LogBase Order P12000.6a, Chap. 12. and failure to maintain finacial responsibility can result in the loss of my clearance. He also informed me that he told her that there was nothing the command could do and that this is a civil matter and not to call the command again.

An employee from Alliance One, claiming to represent Capital One placed a call to my home phone number on 8/30/04, at 5:37 PM, from phone number 651-255-4167, to inquire about my plans to payoff money owed to Capital One. I told her that I did not have a credit card with this company. She called out a four-digit number and asked me to confirm if they belonged to my social security number. I told her No, and, unaware of negative implications of giving personal information to a stranger over the phone, I gave her the correct four digits.
Then she asked if I lived at Oregon Ave. I said No, and again slipping up, I gave her my current residential house number. Then she whipped off a phone number and asked if it belonged to me. I said No! Finally, she said, thanks for your help, and offered to scratch my name off the list, as I was not the person she was looking for.
However on 9/9/04, at 11:53 AM, a woman from Alliance One, claiming to represent Bank One, named Sandy, called again from the same phone number (651-255-4167). In this occasion, my husband picked up the phone. Her questions was: What is Elizabeth going to do with the $1,100 she owes Bank One. My husband replied that we are not a cardholder nor have ever requested a card from this company, that this was a blatant mistake, and that they need to check back with their sources. As Cindy insisted that I owed this money and would not want to listen to our argument, my husband hung up on her.
On 9/10/04, my husband called 1-866-207-3116, a number Sandy gave him on 9/9/04, so that I could contact her to resolve the credit card debt balance. Since she was not available, he left a voice message in her voice mail, asking her to call him back. He wanted to learn the details of the alleged credit card approval and consequent transactions that lead up to her engaging me over the phone. On 9/12/04, around 2:30 PM., she returned the message. She confirmed that it was all a mistake.
In doing so, she assumed a victims attitude, suggested she was offended by my husbands attitude, turned defensive, and refused to listen to our request that she provides details of how my name and phone number ended up in her collections call list. Insisting that she had never called to my house before 9/9/04, she denied any phone contact on 8/30/04, at 5:57 PM, and grunted at my husband, before snapping altogether, and hanging up the phone on his face, that I should not give my phone number away if I did not want people to call me.

Over the past year I receive a phone call from these people about every 2 weeks looking for someone who does not live at this address. I tell them everytime they call that the persone they are looking for does not live here and they promise to take my number off their list, but guess what, they never do. It's getting very irritating. I would like to know how I can get this stopped.
