Purchased a Jasper Transmission. After about 4 weeks of use I totally lost reverse. I purchased a 3 year/100,000 miles warranty. (Parts and Labor). I was told that Jasper only covers up to 90 dollars a hour on labor and doesn’t cover fluids. So now after purchasing a s 6500 transmission and paying to have it installed. I will now have to pay an additional 45.00 dollars a hour per hour of repair and an additional 190.00 worth of fluids. At my own expense because if the transmission failure that is a 100 percent defect from Jasper.. Buyer Beware…. I’d give zero stars if possible.

Got a transmission from Jasper with a 3 year warranty. Paid 7,500 for this transmission and labor. After 3 weeks of driving my truck the transmission went out again. Jasper had to replace the transmission again and said they will pay for the 1,800 labor on the vehicle but I had to pay upfront and they would reimburse me after getting the other transmission back from the mechanic which takes about 3-5 weeks. Well it’s going on 12 weeks now and still no reimbursement. When I call they make excuses like the check got lost in the mail and there was an error on the check and had to be reissued and blah, blah, blah! Still no check and I would NEVER recommend this company!

A few years ago we had a Jasper transmission installed in our 1998 Expedition. It's an extra emergency vehicle so it wasn't used right away. In fact, it was not used until 2/3 the way through the warranty. Then, with less than 10,000 miles on the transmission, IT BROKE. Out of the blue-completely quit. We went back to the shop who installed it and neither they nor Jasper will absorb any of the cost of fixing it because we had passed the 3 year warranty mark. The fact that there is less than 10,000 miles on the transmission didn't even make them blush. An internal snap ring had broken, clearly indicating a manufacture problem, yet it became our problem because of the time frame. We will NEVER install another product from Jasper after this experience.

I was faced with a very difficult decision. I am in process of opening up an HVAC company and since money was tight, thought I could save a bundle by buying a used Cargo Van. Eventually, I chose a 2004 Ford E250 cargo van. Having only 150k and after doing an inspection and doing carfax report found this would be worth the risk. For the first Week the van ran like a champ. Started right up. Ran smooth, sounded smooth. Absolutely no warning signs to what was come.
On week 2 made first trip to gas station, on way home van sputtered and began running rough. The only good thing was it happened in front of house. From the time it first misfired until I shut it down was under 1 minute. The next day I had it towed in to find I had a hole in piston and would require a new motor. Having just spent 7k putting a 10k motor in was difficult decision. So the repair shop had called me after a couple days and was told that Jaspers would be the best place to get motor. So motor has been ordered and was told we would have by the 18th. So far 5 star but will update progress every step of the way,,,.

I purchased a Jasper transmission for my “custom” jeep (as they put it) in I believe August 2019. It last less than 2000 miles. I took the vehicle back to the “authorized dealer” and it was replaced. I was told a gear burned up. That should have been my first clue The second transmission was out in and at the time I asked the shop manager if a trans cooker should be installed and he told me no. Second mistake. That transmission did not last very long either. That was replaced with Jasper transmission #3 in July of 2021 with a trans cooler. It lasted until last month and gave out. I contact the shop that installed the transmission and the same shop manager said he would contact the Jasper sales rep and see what could be done. I will add that I took my jeep to the shop that I had been doing business with for several years.
The next day my jeep was dropped at my residence with no word on what the problem was and when I called the shop I was told by the shop manager that his father had looked at the transmission and would call me back. I never got a call that day so I called back the next day and the shop manager became annoyed and raised his voice Dayi g his father would call back. Once again no call. After 2 weeks of no answer I contacted Jasper via email and received a call from the sales rep who told me that the transmission was out of warranty and that there was not a problem with the transmission but it was a problem with the valve throttle cable not being adjusted properly.
I called the sales rep the next day and asked for the declination in writing but he just referred me to their website where the warranty was located. I then asked him to confirm it was the throttle cable that caused the failure and he changed his story stating that it was mere “speculation” on his part based off the failure of the previous two transmissions. At this point I file a report with the BBB on Jasper and their reply denied any blame on their company but blamed the authorized dealer for the improperly adjusted throttle cable and they have refused to make any amends on their transmission. But rest assured I will never buy another product from Jasper. Their attitude towards their customers is that they could care less.

I purchased an engine block for a 7.4 liter engine in my boat. I paid top dollar for this engine. My boat was now running for about 6 miles out in to Lake Erie. That was when my Jasper engine blew. That was on May 10th. I finally got my warranty engine on July 28th. They lied about not being contacted until July 3rd. This was peculiar because they sent a person in late May to do a check to see if I got the engine hot, so they could void my warranty I'm sure. I warn anyone not to buy anything from this company. Pitiful service to say the least.

My original Chevy Silverado transmission was replaced 3 times in under $100,000 miles total, with a Jasper Transmission and should've been replaced again. The 1st replacement lasted approx. 36,000 miles. The 2nd replacement had a fluid leak and was replaced without question. The 3rd replacement had approximately 40,000 miles on it and had a bad throw out clutch to the torque converter and was replaced...again. The 4th and latest Jasper Transmission developed a whine, hence a bad torque converter, with only 9,000 miles on it. Jasper refused to replace this one, because it went above and beyond the warranty. I make sure I tell all my customers and mechanic friends to NEVER get a Jasper Transmission!! I'm not a mechanical expert, but I own a business and know cheap parts when used. I would've selected 0 stars given the opportunity.

I was told there were no transmissions available at that time and was waiting. NOW at 256k, we are on the 5th transmission. I retrieve the truck from the shop and within the first week the transmission is showing signs of failure, not even towing just daily, driving, extremely hard downshift and throwing the check engine light with codes P.O. 845 reverse gear ratio, P.O. 746 transmission over temperature. No, the transmission has not filled yet, but I’m sure it’s on its way. Jasper's customer service is friendly and helpful but their product is TOTAL TRASH. We put in a Jasper transmission in our Suburban. Within 5000 miles the torque convertor went bad and they replaced it with another transmission under the warranty. That torque convertor went bad within 3000 miles and they replaced it again. We just recently got the Suburban back from the 3rd transmission being replaced and it has been less than 1000 miles and 3 weeks and the torque convertor is bad again. We will be putting in a fourth transmission within a year. It is ridiculous and we are going to be discussing other options at this point. I would never recommend Jasper to anyone. This is the worst experience we have ever had with any automotive parts.

Had a brand new rebuilt transmission from Jasper installed on a 2006 Ram 2500. The transmission only lasted 3000 miles. They do replace the transmission but they do not cover any parts and they say how long it will take to take out and put in in the end after spending $7,000 on a new one. It end up costing me another $2,000 to replace one with 3,000 miles on it. The manufacturer themselves could not care less that is their warranty. You end up getting screwed in the end stay away from their transmissions and their company. I am in line with all the other terrible reviews about this company.

Stay away from Jasper. Especially the transmissions. I guess they can't find good help or have any quality control. I bought a rebuilt E40D for my F350 and the torque converter failed after 5000 miles. They did replace it and the second one has almost 20,000 but I'm having trouble with it now and it's out of warranty. You're basically screwed if you spend your hard earned money on any of their products.

Paid some good $$$ for Jasper to build me a lightly modified old school 350 to go in my 75 Camaro. Engine was rated at 350hp and lasted under 1200 miles before a flat spot formed on cam. They only gave me a 12 month warranty, and of course this happened at 14 months. I called them and they refused to stand behind the engine. Never again Jasper. Find someone else to buy from if you want an engine... Jasper is sub-par at best.

Had a Jasper replacement engine in a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban and it failed just outside of the warranty time frame, but not even close to the mileage limit. Jasper did not warranty, but instead offered a discounted replacement engine at a reduced price, but with no warranty. The 2nd Jasper engine failed in under $15k miles. They refused to help on the replacement or with any parts. Terrible product. I highly recommend that you find another solution. We purchased through them because of their reputation, but as I've dug deeper I've found that their product and customer service have taken a sharp nose dive. DO NOT BUY A JASPER ENGINE.

This company sucks. First they tell you a story that they have your parts in stock until they charge you and then they call you to let you know that your parts are not available and that your parts are going to be deliver in weeks while you sold the job and gave the customer a timeframe... Very embarrassing for shops due to negligence of Jasper. The worst part is you have to wait 3-7 business days to get your money back. Very bad business.

Got a Rear Differential for a 2002 Explorer installed. After 5 months the differential started making noise while driving. Called Jasper and Tom recommended to do a Drain and Fill of the differential and add friction modifier and drive for week to see if noise goes away. The noise did not, and Jasper agreed to warranty out the differential and sent a new one. They declined labor warranty according to Tom stating they boil tested the fluid and it had water in it??? After asking how they thought water got in it, Tom stated it could have been through a breather tube? If that was the case, then it's their design issue and this differential is a carrier style with no breathers? After another phone call back, they still denied labor coverage stating water in the brand-new fluid!!!
A month after the differential was warranted it started throwing fluid from the pinion seal and that had to be warrantied also!!!! After decades of using their products which they don't make anything for current vehicles, they don't stand behind their product and their products are made very poorly!!! I will not recommend their products or poor customer service to anyone anymore!!!!

Jasper does not honor their warranty. I had to have my turbocharger replaced on my diesel truck about a year ago. My regular mechanic was doing a routine check and found the turbine blades were breaking apart. The mechanic is someone that I have trusted for 10 years so called Jasper concerning the warranty. Basically, without even requesting for the turbocharger to be sent to them for future investigation, is blaming the damage on everything except the turbo. According to my mechanic there is no other reason for the turbo charger damage is that Jasper did a very poor rebuild and sold a faulty part. I don't drive this vehicle much so there is maybe 600 miles on this "new" faulty turbocharger.

Replaced the engine the engine in January 2017. December 2020 and a cylinder blew. I'm retired and no longer drive that much. The new engine had less than 12 thousand miles on it. I realize that, technically, the warranty, 100,000 miles or 36 months, had expired, but come on. The oil was changed every 1000 miles. If Jasper engines are so wonderful, why did this happen? I am not impressed. I will not recommend Jasper Engines in future.

I had the engine replaced on my 2010 Ford Ranger with a Jasper Engine - before warranty ran out the engine failed by having poor parts built in the engine. In March 2020 a replacement engine was put in - I had to pay all the labor to get the old engine out and a new engine put in. The truck was not driven due to the Covid Pandemic and I didn't leave the house. Since then I have put on just over 4,000 miles and the engine died 4 days ago and I was stranded. I had the car towed to Hals Auto Repair where the engine was put in.
Now Jasper is saying I have to pay $2,000 for a new engine and have to pay the labor again to take out the bad engine and to have the new engine put in. With having now 2 bad engines and thousands of dollars spent already on their BAD products!!! Their supply chain parts are simply horrible and CANNOT be trusted. They won't stand behind their products and scam you to get more money. Their parts come from China and are bad!!!! They do not take care of customer problems. I have driven just over 4,000 miles on this new engine and it should not fail.
Jasmin Engines and Transmissions want $2,000 dollars for them to ship a new engine. They will not replace my engine unless I pay them $2,000 for a new engine then I have to pay labor again to install it. This is criminal what they are doing to hardworking people. I am a widow and need my car to go to work and now I am stuck. Jasper holds no accountable for the bad engines they put into cars. The Car Repair place without a doubt told me the engine was bad that they received that this should NOT have happened.

In 6/6/2019, I bought a remanufactured motor from Jasper Engines and Transmission to replace the one that had failed. I got the extra insurance on rental car and mechanic labor cost. First motor ran a bit rough and within 20,000 miles was using almost 2 quarts per 5000 mile oil change. Upon testing, I had multiple cylinders that failed cylinder pressure test. Jasper agreed to replace motor. I got a new motor and check engine light started coming on. I assumed it was due to all oil that got into the catalyst since it was a Catalyst error.
After a few weeks light went out, it did not return for 5 more months. During this time, I noticed that this motor was using oil at around 2 quarts per oil change, but this motor had been smooth. Again, Jasper upon proof of issue decided to replace the motor. The new motor has already kicked on check engine light. I installed a new catalyst with the new motor, but this time it is knock sensor code. It came on and off twice and this second motor idles rough. I am on the 3rd motor in about 42,000 miles. This is exhausting and ridiculous. I don't believe that Jasper can produce a quality motor product that will go in excess of 100,000 miles. My last used motor lasted roughly 220,000 miles and was 1/2 costs with no oil usage. Where is the value and how can a consumer believe in their product.

The transmission in my 2002 Toyota Tundra was replaced by my mechanic in California with a Jasper transmission. It started to leak fluid after only 750 miles when I drove to Utah. I contacted Tom at Jasper who recommend a “Preferred Installer” in Bountiful, Utah. After the transmission was replaced with a new transmission from Jasper I was charged an additional $200. The difference between what the installers charge and what Jasper will pay. When I contacted Tom about how I how to get reimbursed he informed me that that’s all the warranty covers. My car was stolen and the engine was blown. I had a new Jasper Engine put in NOV 22nd 2019(2012 Cadillac CTS coupe). I have barley driven this car due to the fact that I take a shuttle to work and have been quarantined for 3 months now. I've put 2000 miles on it since I got it back, and as I was leaving a funeral I started having bad car troubles. I made it down the street to my local Firestone who just informed me that another new engine will need to be put in (5/26- broke down 5/23). It took a month to have the new engine delivered and put in the first time, and I cannot keep going through this hardship without a reliable vehicle. Especially when I paid 11k to have the new engine put in it once already!!! I dont trust that the second engine will last either and even though I love this car I feel I will have to sell it as I cannot trust this company at all!

Purchased one of Jasper's engines to replace my Jeep's 3.8 that had spun a rod bearing and within 900 miles, this engine sounded horrible. It was making so much racket there is no way an engine correctly built should be that noisy. Currently deciding whether or not to even bother dealing with this or just selling the Jeep as is. Jasper used to be a good company, but they aren't anymore. Look elsewhere for a rebuilt motor.

I seriously never complain or do negative reviews but this needs to be known. We put a new Jasper engine in our truck in Feb of 2016. It is now Nov of 2019. The engine has 80,000 miles on it. We learned something was wrong with the engine. We took the truck in for some routine maintenance and to have a couple of things fixed. We really trust the place we take our trucks to be worked on. They found about $2,600.00 worth of repairs needed because of the engine alone. We didn't know at the time, but the owner of the repair shop called Jasper to let them know about this faulty engine. Jasper would not budge and stood by their warranty, which was expired in Feb 2019, even though these engines are supposed to go 300,000 miles and this engine only went 80,000.
I called and was passed to a supervisor. I told them that it seems strange that this engine only went 80,000 miles and could they compensate anything at all? He said no, the engine is almost 4 years old and past the warranty. I told him as a business owner, I wouldn't want my name on such a faulty product. He said there are no guarantees as how far the engine would go. I would have been happy with $500, or a gift card, anything. They offered no apologies, just a "this is how it is" attitude.
In conclusion, please don't use Jasper engines or transmissions. It seemed like he wanted me to beg for compensation, when in reality he was doing a horrible job at his customer service. I told him I was going to be sure everyone I told everyone to never use Jasper because their engines suck. (Not my finest moment.) He said, "Tahnee, you are giving me no reason to give you anything." I said, "You already said you are not going to do anything for me." He said, "I see no reason to be on the phone with you then." Their customer service is way below par and they think of their customers as a number, nothing else.

This 1990 Ford Bronco two had a Jasper Reman engine installed on 8/2016. This engine never ran correctly. It must have been running poorly when Jasper ran tested it too. I removed the cylinder heads and found the valve seats on two cylinders were missing so I guess they do not check installed valve height because those valves were 3/8 of an inch higher than the other valves. I contacted Jasper and they said, "Sorry it's out of warranty." I sent them pictures to prove that the parts were never installed and they won't budge on the warranty because it would set a precedent. I told them THE precedent you should set is taking care of your customers. Needless to say this shop will never install another Jasper product. Recently we purchased a marine engine from jasper. After the engine was completely installed in the boat we attempted to start the engine before launching the boat to make sure all was good. This is on a 30+ foot boat so it needs to be launched by a Travel lift. At the test start the starter would not engage. After a few hours of troubleshooting it was determined one of the holes to mount the starter had been repaired and the starter would not align properly to the flywheel. We had to remove the engine and start over. The engine swap on this boat is a 40 plus hour install. Jasper would only offer 20 hours reimbursement at a reduced rate. Their rep said we should have purchased the additional warranty.
I would understand this if the boat was in the water and hours on the engine. This boat never launched. Engine was bad off the pallet. Zero run time. Another boat, another bad engine. This one had timing issues. Spent several days troubleshooting. Again in the end it was determined the engine was bad. Another complete swap with little help from Jasper to cover costs. My recommendation? Avoid Jasper engines! Won't stand behind product.
