I wish they 0 stars because all of their motors are scrap motors from the junkyard. Including transmissions. Their staff doesn't reply or answer calls. If you use this company plan on lawyer fees along with the expensive scrap they sell.

We purchased a motor from Jasper for a 2005 Ford Explorer. It lasted about 2 months and then we had to replace it. We reported it to Jasper. They told me what would be covered. My mechanic removed the bad motor and replaced it with a new one that Jasper sent. They sent the bad motor back. Jasper checked it out and reported back to me that the issue with the motor was not on their end. It was on ours. My mechanic explained to Jasper that the problem was due to the motor. They agreed to replace the motor but would not pay for the labor.

We had several different conservations with Jasper over this problem. I spoke with 2 different managers. I was told by 1 of them that Jasper did cover the motor like they really didn't have to do that. So, I now have a 5000.00 motor that I have 5000.00 in labor in. I would not recommend Jasper to anyone. Their customer service is lacking a lot. Us little people that work like crazy to have what we have doesn't matter and the top guy with money still makes it.

A Jasper remanufactured engine installed in 2022 leaked coolant through faulty head gaskets that blew right out the exhaust, untraceable. At no time did the engine overheat according to the gauges, the heat tab was on the engine, and the vehicle was only driven about 13,000 miles in the last three years. The mechanic said it was a faulty remanufacturing, but Jasper was defensive and unsympathetic. They said it doesn't matter how little the car was driven if it was past the warranty, but the remanufactured engine was faulty. Strange things happened after the company representative contacted the mechanic. Using the Jasper remanufactured engine cost us about $9000 in 2022, and it's gonna cost us about $10,000 to replace it. Parts just can't fail in under 13,000 miles, unless they were defective to begin with. I cannot recommend a Jasper remanufactured engine or transmission and will never use them again.

Bought a motor a while back from them. 18k miles later it shot a rod out of the block. 4 months passed. 3yr warranty. Best they can do is give me 8% discount on my 6400 dollar motor which is a whopping 440 bucks off. I feel they should have done better that. Might have better things to say about them if they could fix the issue and be more fair after just buying a 5k motor from them.

I live in the suburbs of Houston, Tx and had a local mechanics shop install a Jasper remanufactured engine in my classic 1998 Chevy Silverado with 397,000 miles on it. The new engine now has over 300 miles on it and runs perfectly. The only issue I have found so far is the paint is scraped off of the oil pan pretty badly leaving a sizable bare spot. I had to sand and paint the bare spot to prevent rust.

I recently purchased a replacement engine for my 2011 GMC Sierra (5.3L with DOD delete) from Jasper Motors out of Jasper, Indiana. I was thoroughly impressed by the speed of service—ordered on a Tuesday, delivered to my doorstep by Thursday. That’s exceptional. The engine itself has performed well so far, and the build quality appears solid. I appreciated the clarity of instructions and how smoothly the swap went on my end. However, I did run into frustration with the $2,050 core deposit refund process. I quickly returned my original engine (properly palletized) the following Thursday. A week later, I called to check on the refund and was told that the engine had already been inspected, certified free of cracks or holes, and approved for a full refund—on the same day it was received. But I was also informed that no refund had been issued because I hadn’t specifically called to request that it be sent.

Frankly, I was surprised and disappointed by this policy. Holding a customer’s $2,050 deposit until they ask for it to be returned—and then taking additional days to process that request—feels like an unnecessary and inconsiderate delay. I had already met all the return requirements promptly, and the refund should have been automatic once the core was certified. In summary: great engine, fast shipping, but a frustrating and needlessly slow core refund process. If Jasper Motors could improve this part of the experience, they’d be hard to beat.

The WORSE engine company, do NOT buy any of their products! In three years we went through three of their POS motors for my 2013 F150. This all started during COVID. Ford had a 8 month backlog for a factory motor-replacement and Jasper was the only one around when I called that had a motor. Day one it had a valve or crank tick from the moment I picked it up from the shop. They said it would probably go away during the break in periods. I kept that motor in hoping it would go away for about a year and maybe 12k miles, well the tick never did go away.

I had enough. Took it to a shop and they said it was piston slap so I asked for a replacement. They were good about that and sent one to a shop near my home. That motor seemed fine, but also started having a tick, and the sound only got progressively worse over the next year. We only drive the truck when we tow, go to the beach or had to haul things so we never put a lot of miles on it. So motor #2 was not getting better so I took it into Ford and they said the sound was coming from the crank area. They said could be a bad bearing, a rod, or the crank itself.

At this point I was at the 3 year mark of Jaspers warranty and had only put about 20k miles on our truck during those three years. I called Jasper up about their crappy products to complain and get a motor when they said I had reached the warranty. I mentioned the bad motors and lack of reliability and they were extremely smug and couldn’t care less. After I mentioned an attorney they said they would give us one more motor but we had to pay for the install ourselves. We also had to sign a document saying it was the last motor and we couldn’t do anything once we receive that motor.

We reluctantly signed it thinking what would the odds be of a third bad motor. Well Ford put a new motor in and guess what, yep it also has a bad tick that eventually goes away once the truck warms up. Oh and all three motors supposedly had the upgraded cam phasers put in them, but all three motors eventually had the cam phaser issue that everyone with a 3.5 ecoboost gets, the cam rattle. I filed a claim with my state's attorney general's office, and will be looking for an attorney. We have dumped about $21k over the last 3 years into Jasper motors, and the labor cost to install the first and the last motor. No way in hell should a company get away with repeatedly selling crap unreliable motors with no repercussions. They will NEVER fix the problem or their bad business practice until us consumers hold them accountable!

I'd leave ZERO STARS FOR THIS GARBAGE BUILD if I could... Wrong pushrods, Galley Plugs found in oil pan (QC check?), Not an easy access on a 96 F-150 to find. Short pushrods (QC check?) caused chewed up camshaft with less than 5k miles on it but a year over time limit on warranty. ALL issues from build and they don't care. I'm not a wealthy man and just wanted my father's truck to be able to be driven around, have some good memories of him but I'm $10k into an engine that still doesn't run right. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORST ENEMY!!!!

I purchased a Jasper Rebuilt Engine early 2024. The check engine light went on and the engine had to be replaced 7 months later, under warranty. The second Jasper engine failed 6 months later. After much negotiations Jasper sent a replacement engine no warranty as a year had passed since the first engine replacement. I signed a waiver that the engine would be no charge, but I would be responsible for labor to replace. They don’t warranty each engine for a year, but only give one year warranty from the time of the first replacement. The third engine misfires and two cylinders at 2500 RPM. Not one of the replacement engines went 25,000, let alone 100,000 miles per their warranty. I sent my report to the BBB. Based on the three rebuilt engines Jasper sent, all of which had significant problems, I would never recommend Jasper Engines.

Got a new engine put in and now the engine is failing again and they say, even though it is a new engine, the warranty was only on the original engine, so this one is not covered. Are you kidding me!! You are not going to cover an engine that is not even a year old??? And we had to have 3 different transmissions put in for different reasons, including the one of the new. Ones had shavings in the transmission. What kind of company does not stand behind their $10,000 engine that is less than a year old!! Basically they are making it so my Jeep is no longer drivable and to put another $10,000 into it is a waste of time!!

It lasted 16k mile and blew a head gasket the day before I was to start a $6000 job that I had to cancel. Now they are telling me they won't renew the 3yr warranty I paid for on the first engine that failed. By all rights and logic they should renew the warranty on the replacement engine. Logic says that would be showing respect and commitment to customers. Sadly Jasper Engines does not respect their customers So If you're looking for a new engine DO NOT BUY A JASPER'S.

So I purchased the 68rfe with a triple disc torque converter, yesterday my vehicle had a problem and wouldn’t shift….. They offered me nothing basically, told to go pound sand. Go buy a fire punk 68rfe before you waste your money on their transmission assembly. I also pulled my transmission apart today and found the valve body was loose and not torqued properly. I found all bolts installed finger “snug”.

Before buying anything them go with the slightly more expensive option, do not buy, run away from anything they touch, quality control is trash and customer support is garbage just like the products they sell. I should also mention I have had the transmission installed in my truck for 3 year and 6 months and put 26,000 miles on it and now I need to repair it all out of my own pocket. The warranty is 3 year 100k glad to see they stand by the warranty and they have no grace period but I mean does 6 months really matter when technically I have 74,000 more miles, it should be covered.

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. I purchased a 6.4 hemi Jasper motor (June of '23) after the stock motor dropped a cylinder at 160k miles. The first motor made it less than 2k miles before it started burning 1 quart of oil every 500-700 miles. That motor was replaced under warranty, although it took almost a year of oil consumption documentation before Jasper agreed to replace it. The 2nd motor lasted less than 5000 miles before it started knocking in cylinder #8.

I contacted Jasper and told them what was going on & that I wanted my money back. After the repair shop completed their diagnosis & contacted Jasper, Jasper agreed to a reimbursement of $6400 which is less than 50% of the total original repair bill (parts & labor). I contacted Jasper myself and was told that it's company policy that they don't refund labor costs. On top of that, they only paid the repair shop 25% of their labor costs to remove Jasper motor #1 & install Jasper motor #2. This is a joke of a company. Their engines are garbage and their customer service is even worse. It's now going to cost me an additional $4000 to get my pickup back on the road. It is amazing that this company is still in business. Do not buy anything from Jasper.

Jasper used to be good. Not anymore. Their quality of products and customer service has dropped to a new low. We put in two Jasper motors this past summer 2024 and both are leaking all over. We reached out to the warranty department and told them that there was a leak between timing cover and block. He didn't believe us and told us that it was probably coming from not properly installed valve covers, which he said was a known problem area that needed to be redone before they would pay for any repairs because he said it was our fault. So we redid that repair knowing that that was not the problem to appease Jasper. What do you know, but it was still leaking in the same spot.

Jasper wanted us to put die in it and recheck it and send them pictures. This was an inconvenience to us and our customer to have to keep bringing his work van back so many times for the same issue. We sent pictures of the problem area with die showing the leaking area and we decided to tear down to find the cause. We found a torn timing cover gasket. This was Jasper's repair that was messed up not ours. The warranty customer service guy told us that Jasper would not pay for the first repair that they told us to start with. We emailed the regional manager Steve M and have gotten no response.

I don't usually write reviews but I really feel that future consumers should beware of this company. In November of 2023 we had the original transmission replaced with a Jasper transmission. That transmission failed after only 3 1/2 months. Jasper replaced that transmission but we were out of the labor cost, replacement of the cost of the other engine parts that were damaged because of the failure and missed work. Only to have that transmission fail in August.

I had a transmission specialist take it apart and he found metal chards, a loose bolt and a broken rod in the transmission pan. It cost me another $7,000 to have it rebuilt the correct way. Jasper refuses to at least reimburse us for the faulty transmission because we didn't go through them for a new replacement. Why would we replace it with another Jasper transmission AGAIN??? Two failures in less than a year at the cost of over $20,000 in total!! Their product is a waste of money and their customer service is a waste of time. I would give them a negative star if I could.

After an expensive tow and diagnostic tests and $100 a day rental they sent another motor. After 6 months the motor failed. After an expensive tow, and expensive diagnostic a new motor was sent. They warranted the engine and the Installer had a new Engine in like 5 days. The engine is in and I am rolling again. Kudos to Jasper for their customer service. I even recommended one to a friend and will continue to recommend them if you need an engine.
