Jasper used to be good. Not anymore. Their quality of products and customer service has dropped to a new low. We put in two Jasper motors this past summer 2024 and both are leaking all over. We reached out to the warranty department and told them that there was a leak between timing cover and block. He didn't believe us and told us that it was probably coming from not properly installed valve covers, which he said was a known problem area that needed to be redone before they would pay for any repairs because he said it was our fault. So we redid that repair knowing that that was not the problem to appease Jasper. What do you know, but it was still leaking in the same spot.
Jasper wanted us to put die in it and recheck it and send them pictures. This was an inconvenience to us and our customer to have to keep bringing his work van back so many times for the same issue. We sent pictures of the problem area with die showing the leaking area and we decided to tear down to find the cause. We found a torn timing cover gasket. This was Jasper's repair that was messed up not ours. The warranty customer service guy told us that Jasper would not pay for the first repair that they told us to start with. We emailed the regional manager Steve M and have gotten no response.

I don't usually write reviews but I really feel that future consumers should beware of this company. In November of 2023 we had the original transmission replaced with a Jasper transmission. That transmission failed after only 3 1/2 months. Jasper replaced that transmission but we were out of the labor cost, replacement of the cost of the other engine parts that were damaged because of the failure and missed work. Only to have that transmission fail in August.
I had a transmission specialist take it apart and he found metal chards, a loose bolt and a broken rod in the transmission pan. It cost me another $7,000 to have it rebuilt the correct way. Jasper refuses to at least reimburse us for the faulty transmission because we didn't go through them for a new replacement. Why would we replace it with another Jasper transmission AGAIN??? Two failures in less than a year at the cost of over $20,000 in total!! Their product is a waste of money and their customer service is a waste of time. I would give them a negative star if I could.

Worst garbage engine I have ever bought. Jasper worst customer service. They do not give a rat's butt about you or the quality of their rebuilds. First time and last time I will ever use Jasper. 100 miles clicking, ticking upper end piston rod bearing making noise. Try to get Jasper to help. Ha ha ha. Good luck.

I overpaid to get a Jasper transmission for the warranty to find out they only pay so much. I put 200mi on when I started having issues. It's been in the shop 5 times for the same problem. I went to the shop they sent me to and ended up paying 500 out of pocket because they only pay so much labor. Then why send me there if they knew it wasn't going to be covered

I bought a Jasper Motor and it imploded, after an expensive tow job and an expensive diagnosis and paying $100 a day rental about $3,000 they sent a new motor. Then 3 months it fails. After an expensive tow and diagnostic tests and $100 a day rental they sent another motor. After 6 months the motor failed. After an expensive tow, and expensive diagnostic a new motor was sent. Keep in mind Jasper doesn't cover towing, it doesn't cover the mechanic checking multiple parts, it requires many new parts for the warranty to be covered. It doesn't cover rental. If I had advanced knowledge I would have bought a $30,000 truck rather than suffer their crap. And Jasper used to be a credible company.

I needed an engine last year for my Trailblazer 5.3. I got the DOD delete and had it installed. I was very satisfied with the engine. It had more power than my old engine and ran better than new. This year, the engine failed. The installer checked it and it seems that the timing chain failed with 11,000 miles. They contacted Jasper and Jasper did right by me. They didn't try to patch it. They warranted the engine and the Installer had a new Engine in like 5 days. The engine is in and I am rolling again. I was inconvenienced but being an old gear head, I am aware that any part, even a brand new part can fail.
Kudos to Jasper for their customer service. I even recommended one to a friend and will continue to recommend them if you need an engine. It was the right call for me, although people thought I was nuts to put a new engine in a 2007 Trailblazer. I could have bought a used car with 100,000 miles for 25,000 miles and had the same issue as I had from my original. Bought a new vehicle for 70K or spend 10K for the installed Jasper Engine... I feel that I made the right choice and if anybody is asking what I would recommend, my answer is simple.... Jasper Engines...

BUYER BEWARE‼ Two of the last three motors have had significant issues. Takes weeks for core pick up and even longer to get paid for the warranty labor. One of the last three motors we got didn't even have the rocker arms torqued down. On an engine that was ran for 50 hours?! I think not.... That was super fun after getting the job done and don't forget you have to wait 8-12 weeks and cross your fingers the next guy decided to do via job when he was working on it. Customer service is nonexistent. Good luck!!

Would give ZERO stars if possible. Completely disappointed in customer service and quality of their products. For anyone wondering if they should give this company a chance, DON'T. A 1.4 star rating is being GENEROUS considering they do not even warranty their products as stated.

The second transmission that was already installed in our 2015 GMC Yukon XL Denali when we purchased it in March of 2023. That transmission failed before 30k miles. We just had another Jasper trans installed last week, which it is already failing with less than 200 miles on it. It slips between gears, going uphill it sounds like it is eating itself, and it drinks fuel now. You can actually watch the gas gauge move toward E. We had to pay the shop $1,866 of which Jasper is only going to refund $800. The vehicle is how we get back and forth to work, it is our only vehicle. And time is money. We are going to have to be without the vehicle again, only to be given another giant paperweight from Jasper and lose even more money and time. Jasper should really think about going into a line of work that doesn't involve engines, mechanisms, or transmissions.

Do not buy from these guys. 2 transmission in less than 150 miles. Second transmission did not work. Carried to transmission shop and gave Jasper the number to the shop. Jasper did contact shop. Diagnosed as bad torque converter. Shop replaced. I paid repair bill and called Jasper about repair bill and they denied.

Purchased a Jasper in lieu of a new or used one for my wife's Lincoln Navigator. It didn't make it even a 100miles before failing. They WILL NOT give a full warranty, costing $1000+ more to get the replacement installed. There's just no value here. You're better sourcing one on eBay or such for real savings as you're rolling the dice with Jasper also.

In July 2021, my Duramax, 6.6 L diesel broke its crankshaft. I had to replace the engine with a Jasper short block. In February 2024 the engine dropped a valve into the cylinder. Jasper warrants their diesel engines for two years, unlimited mileage. This happened just over two years. The engine only had a little over 12,000 miles on it. Jasper would not even help a little to repair the $24,000 engine. Now my 2008 GMC 2500 HD truck is DOA and I have no recourse but to take the truck to the boneyard. I will never purchase another Jasper engine again.

Purchased a Jasper Transmission. After about 4 weeks of use I totally lost reverse. I purchased a 3 year/100,000 miles warranty. (Parts and Labor). I was told that Jasper only covers up to 90 dollars a hour on labor and doesn’t cover fluids. So now after purchasing a s 6500 transmission and paying to have it installed. I will now have to pay an additional 45.00 dollars a hour per hour of repair and an additional 190.00 worth of fluids. At my own expense because if the transmission failure that is a 100 percent defect from Jasper.. Buyer Beware…. I’d give zero stars if possible.

Got a transmission from Jasper with a 3 year warranty. Paid 7,500 for this transmission and labor. After 3 weeks of driving my truck the transmission went out again. Jasper had to replace the transmission again and said they will pay for the 1,800 labor on the vehicle but I had to pay upfront and they would reimburse me after getting the other transmission back from the mechanic which takes about 3-5 weeks. Well it’s going on 12 weeks now and still no reimbursement. When I call they make excuses like the check got lost in the mail and there was an error on the check and had to be reissued and blah, blah, blah! Still no check and I would NEVER recommend this company!

A few years ago we had a Jasper transmission installed in our 1998 Expedition. It's an extra emergency vehicle so it wasn't used right away. In fact, it was not used until 2/3 the way through the warranty. Then, with less than 10,000 miles on the transmission, IT BROKE. Out of the blue-completely quit. We went back to the shop who installed it and neither they nor Jasper will absorb any of the cost of fixing it because we had passed the 3 year warranty mark. The fact that there is less than 10,000 miles on the transmission didn't even make them blush. An internal snap ring had broken, clearly indicating a manufacture problem, yet it became our problem because of the time frame. We will NEVER install another product from Jasper after this experience.

I was faced with a very difficult decision. I am in process of opening up an HVAC company and since money was tight, thought I could save a bundle by buying a used Cargo Van. Eventually, I chose a 2004 Ford E250 cargo van. Having only 150k and after doing an inspection and doing carfax report found this would be worth the risk. For the first Week the van ran like a champ. Started right up. Ran smooth, sounded smooth. Absolutely no warning signs to what was come.
On week 2 made first trip to gas station, on way home van sputtered and began running rough. The only good thing was it happened in front of house. From the time it first misfired until I shut it down was under 1 minute. The next day I had it towed in to find I had a hole in piston and would require a new motor. Having just spent 7k putting a 10k motor in was difficult decision. So the repair shop had called me after a couple days and was told that Jaspers would be the best place to get motor. So motor has been ordered and was told we would have by the 18th. So far 5 star but will update progress every step of the way,,,.

I purchased a Jasper transmission for my “custom” jeep (as they put it) in I believe August 2019. It last less than 2000 miles. I took the vehicle back to the “authorized dealer” and it was replaced. I was told a gear burned up. That should have been my first clue The second transmission was out in and at the time I asked the shop manager if a trans cooker should be installed and he told me no. Second mistake. That transmission did not last very long either. That was replaced with Jasper transmission #3 in July of 2021 with a trans cooler. It lasted until last month and gave out. I contact the shop that installed the transmission and the same shop manager said he would contact the Jasper sales rep and see what could be done. I will add that I took my jeep to the shop that I had been doing business with for several years.
The next day my jeep was dropped at my residence with no word on what the problem was and when I called the shop I was told by the shop manager that his father had looked at the transmission and would call me back. I never got a call that day so I called back the next day and the shop manager became annoyed and raised his voice Dayi g his father would call back. Once again no call. After 2 weeks of no answer I contacted Jasper via email and received a call from the sales rep who told me that the transmission was out of warranty and that there was not a problem with the transmission but it was a problem with the valve throttle cable not being adjusted properly.
I called the sales rep the next day and asked for the declination in writing but he just referred me to their website where the warranty was located. I then asked him to confirm it was the throttle cable that caused the failure and he changed his story stating that it was mere “speculation” on his part based off the failure of the previous two transmissions. At this point I file a report with the BBB on Jasper and their reply denied any blame on their company but blamed the authorized dealer for the improperly adjusted throttle cable and they have refused to make any amends on their transmission. But rest assured I will never buy another product from Jasper. Their attitude towards their customers is that they could care less.

I purchased an engine block for a 7.4 liter engine in my boat. I paid top dollar for this engine. My boat was now running for about 6 miles out in to Lake Erie. That was when my Jasper engine blew. That was on May 10th. I finally got my warranty engine on July 28th. They lied about not being contacted until July 3rd. This was peculiar because they sent a person in late May to do a check to see if I got the engine hot, so they could void my warranty I'm sure. I warn anyone not to buy anything from this company. Pitiful service to say the least.

My original Chevy Silverado transmission was replaced 3 times in under $100,000 miles total, with a Jasper Transmission and should've been replaced again. The 1st replacement lasted approx. 36,000 miles. The 2nd replacement had a fluid leak and was replaced without question. The 3rd replacement had approximately 40,000 miles on it and had a bad throw out clutch to the torque converter and was replaced...again. The 4th and latest Jasper Transmission developed a whine, hence a bad torque converter, with only 9,000 miles on it. Jasper refused to replace this one, because it went above and beyond the warranty. I make sure I tell all my customers and mechanic friends to NEVER get a Jasper Transmission!! I'm not a mechanical expert, but I own a business and know cheap parts when used. I would've selected 0 stars given the opportunity.

We put in a Jasper transmission in our Suburban. Within 5000 miles the torque convertor went bad and they replaced it with another transmission under the warranty. We just recently got the Suburban back from the 3rd transmission being replaced and it has been less than 1000 miles and 3 weeks and the torque convertor is bad again. It end up costing me another $2,000 to replace one with 3,000 miles on it. The manufacturer themselves could not care less that is their warranty. Got a Rear Differential for a 2002 Explorer installed. After 5 months the differential started making noise while driving. Called Jasper and Tom recommended to do a Drain and Fill of the differential and add friction modifier and drive for week to see if noise goes away. The noise did not, and Jasper agreed to warranty out the differential and sent a new one. They declined labor warranty according to Tom stating they boil tested the fluid and it had water in it??? After asking how they thought water got in it, Tom stated it could have been through a breather tube? If that was the case, then it's their design issue and this differential is a carrier style with no breathers? After another phone call back, they still denied labor coverage stating water in the brand-new fluid!!!
A month after the differential was warranted it started throwing fluid from the pinion seal and that had to be warrantied also!!!! Jasper does not honor their warranty. I had to have my turbocharger replaced on my diesel truck about a year ago. My regular mechanic was doing a routine check and found the turbine blades were breaking apart. The mechanic is someone that I have trusted for 10 years so called Jasper concerning the warranty. Basically, without even requesting for the turbocharger to be sent to them for future investigation, is blaming the damage on everything except the turbo. According to my mechanic there is no other reason for the turbo charger damage is that Jasper did a very poor rebuild and sold a faulty part. I don't drive this vehicle much so there is maybe 600 miles on this "new" faulty turbocharger.
