Technician falsely advertised the internet strength and the number of devices the service could reliably support. During installation, the technician also cut/disconnected the cable connected to our existing internet service, leaving our original wired setup unusable. The package included many TV channels, but the actual internet quality was terrible. Smart TVs struggled to stream properly, phones had spotty connectivity, and my computer often would not even detect the network as an available connection.
Customer service was also frustrating to deal with. We experienced long hold times, one call was disconnected unexpectedly, and after the installation issue caused our original internet service to stop working, we were told it would take 3–5 business days for a technician to return and repair the damaged connection. As a result, our household was left without reliable internet access because of the installation process itself, which left us all angry and restless. Overall, this was a very poor experience and we will not be using this service again.

I ordered Viasat satellite internet on Thursday 06/04/2026. I was quoted a bronze plan for $99.99 a month. He specifically asked how much TV I watch a day. I responded with 8 hours a day. I completely reassured me my plan would cover that. I'm 5 days in and it took me 4 hours to watch 1 movie. It kept losing internet connection and it spun several times through my movie. Also it kept starting my movie over from the beginning. I was quoted that it was unlimited data. I opened up the statement I got in my email (mind you it took much time for it to even open the pdf). I seen my data usage used since Saturday 06/06/2026 and it was over half gone. I also seen my plan is only 35 GB per 30 days. I called and told a supervisor I wasn't getting what the salesman promised. He said he would take $20 off my bill and give me 5 extra GB. I'm not pleased with the blatant lies I was told.

Customer service is rude, disrespectful. Reception is terrible. They will not do anything to fix it. Somehow, it's my fault. To the representative. And I'm paying for the highest package they offer. If you can use a different company..

I am in the North DFW area, 35 miles north of Dallas. I'm in a pocket of unincorporated land out of city limits so satellite internet is the best option. My service with Viasat worked well for about two years from March of 2024 until recently. Several months ago, service became unreliable; with service dropping almost daily. After three service calls and numerous phone calls to Viasat trying to resolve the issues, I made the decision to change providers. I believe Viasat has oversaturated their network, and it's resulting in unreliable service for their customers. Viasat never gave me a reason for the unreliable service, but I do believe they know exactly what the problem is. If you need internet service I do NOT recommend Viasat. I am switching to Hughes / "Starlink" . . . My understanding is they have a new network / system and service will be reliable.

Horrible satellite service, but was only option. Out at least once a day, no matter weather. Bad weather forget it, service support automated mess. Then when I cancelled service due to moving, tech rep told me service was cancelled day I called. It was not, and had to call them AGAIN when they charged my account and was told it would be another month before it was terminated. Fortunately have multiple option to them at new location, didn't out in farm country of Decatur county.

Current customer with NO other options (can't afford Starlink). Worst internet service ever. It is just barely good enough for internet browsing, that's all. Literally! Anything more will leave you greatly disappointed. Streaming, forget it. Gaming, forget it. Inconsistent with excessive latency. Horrible service and horrible customer service. They have no interest in providing a good product or good service. Those Gov't contracts must be real good.

Absolutely awful. Do not buy their services. I pay for high speed internet and all I get is constant outages, and low speeds. More often than not, it makes my phone nigh unusable when connected. And God forbid it's anything but a cloudless blue sky. If it's rainy, cloudy, or night-time, good luck with having any wifi.

Wow Viasat how many one star reviews can you get before someone does something over there in management. I have a customer with 500 locations and we tested it in one location. After only 30 days on a sunny warm quiet day the service went down. The modem shows Internet working but I am a network engineer and my laptop says no. I called to dispatch a tech and they tell me that costs $200 or $14 a month for life. They refuse to warranty their own product at 30 days. YOU JUST LOST A 500 SITE DEAL DUMMIES. My customer was disgusted with this and we are canceling to go with another provider for 500 SITES.

ViaSat was nothing but trouble. I signed up for them. They repeatedly would not take their bill at first and then tried to charge me extra. Then they told me I needed a service tech to come out to my house. He came out to my house and said he wasn't even needed because there's nothing he can do. Then they built me for the tech and would not refund me the money because they said it was needed when it wasn't, overcharged me for that, and then after I canceled service, they overcharged me again and I have to call them back complaining. ViaSat is nothing but trouble. Save yourself the aggravation. AT&T pretty much goes anywhere with their service, even out here in the middle of nowhere, so save yourself the aggravation and go with someone different.

I have high speed internet with Viasat, and it is not high speed. I can't even pay a bill! Called support and they said there is nothing they can do... I will just have to try to disconnect any devices in my house connected to it: what?! Super unhelpful and didn't really care if I did business with them or not. Starlink, here I come!
