I’ve been using GoDaddy for a couple of small projects and overall it’s been a pretty smooth experience. Setting up a domain was quick, and the dashboard is easy enough to figure out even if you’re not super technical. Their support team has also helped me a couple times when I got stuck with DNS settings. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because some add-ons and renewals can get expensive if you’re not paying attention. Other than that, it’s been reliable for what I needed.

I completed a domain sale transaction through GoDaddy Aftermarket/Broker Services and was very disappointed with the payout conversion handling and lack of transparency. The payout was internally converted using a USD/GBP exchange rate significantly lower than the public market exchange rates available during the same period across Wise, XE, OFX, and other major FX providers. I also confirmed with Wise that the funds were already converted before reaching my Wise account, meaning the conversion was handled internally before transfer rather than by my receiving bank. Had the original USD funds been transferred directly to Wise, the conversion would have been processed using significantly more favorable and transparent market-based exchange rates.
My main concern is not the disclosed transaction fee, but rather the lack of transparency regarding the internal FX conversion spread and the materially unfavorable exchange rate applied before payout. I contacted support multiple times, requested clarification and escalation, and sent emails to the responsible teams, but no meaningful resolution was provided and nobody from the complaints or payout team attempted to contact me directly regarding the issue. I strongly recommend that sellers:
* receive payouts in the original currency whenever possible,* and carefully review payout currency settings before finalizing transactions.

After 23 years with GoDaddy, I can honestly say the quality of service has declined tremendously. As a paying customer running multiple businesses online, it is beyond frustrating to repeatedly experience DNS issues caused by support representatives making incorrect changes to my account. When those mistakes cause websites to go down, emails to stop working, or customers to be unable to place orders, that directly impacts my business financially. One of the biggest ongoing problems is the communication barrier with support. Far too often, I am connected with representatives who struggle to fully understand or clearly communicate in English regarding technical issues. In my personal experience, many of these difficult interactions have been with male representatives from overseas call centers, particularly representatives identifying themselves as being from Pakistan or the Philippines.
The issue is not where someone is from — the issue is that customers are left dealing with misunderstandings, repeated errors, rude behavior, raised voices, and in some cases calls being disconnected instead of problems being resolved professionally. Customers should not have to call back multiple times because support staff either do not fully understand DNS management or fail to properly document changes made to accounts. It is exhausting having to repeatedly explain the same issue while my businesses lose time, traffic, and orders due to preventable mistakes. What makes matters even worse is the attitude and professionalism from certain representatives. I have experienced situations where support agents became dismissive, argumentative, spoke to me disrespectfully, interrupted me, or hung up the call entirely. No loyal customer should ever be treated that way after spending over two decades supporting a company.
At this point, the stress, downtime, and repeated negative experiences have made me seriously consider moving all of my domains and business services elsewhere. I have referred many customers to GoDaddy over the years, but based on my recent experiences, I can no longer confidently recommend your company. It is disappointing to see the decline in both technical support quality and customer care from a company I once trusted.

They have the worst customer service I have ever experience. We were deceived into the pricing of our services. When we tried to contact them, they were absolutely unhelpful. They told me to receive a refund I would have to delete our products that we purchased off of our account. Then, even though we requested a refund within the seven days, they tried to tell me that it was not within the seven days of purchase and denied the refund request. So now not only are we out of our initial cost to pay for the service, but they also made us delete the product and now we have no access to it whatsoever.
If you need a domain, website, or business emails, this is the absolute worst possible company to go through. It is significantly cheaper to purchase and create a website/domain through Wix and then take care of any email needs through Microsoft directly. Once again do NOT purchase anything from GoDaddy unless you want to be deceived and lied too, talk to customer support for over 6 straight hours, and not be able to receive the refund that you deserve.

I've been with GoDaddy for roughly 20 years, and our site did well. We got a lot of compliments on how it looked, user-friendly and it was put together by myself and my wife. If we ran into a problem, we were able to call GD and get help to resolve our issue. They were always a just a phone call away and we almost always spoke to someone in Arizona.
Fast forward to about 2 years ago. GD was bought by someone in the Middle East, they went public (stock market) and we were forced off of the platform were on (Quick Shopping Cart) and pushed into this Website Builder. Do it yourself. We were assured it was easy and cheaper. It was not easy, if we called with a question we were told to go kick rocks....we were in the Website Builder program. "You should have paid us to do it". Now, as of about 3 weeks ago, GD did a update and now our site is pretty much dead and No One at GD seems to care about getting it fixed.
And talking to anyone about it is NO LONGER something we can do. And I'm seeing the same issue with other GD website owners all over the internet, so it's not just us. Now, GD is all about the bottom line. How much money can they make and some of the Tech people I have talked early on were just plain rude. I had a few of them just hang up when I tried to ask a question. And you can call their 480 area code number and you'll wind up talking to someone that has very knowledge of the English language. GD truly sucks now. After 20 years, they've hit the bottom of the barrel. We will be bailing from GD soon. I'm already talking to other website companies.

Let me start by saying this has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I purchased my site in February. It is now April, and I still cannot add my storefront so customers can make purchases. Every single day I’m told, “Give it another 24 hours,” and the next day it’s the same thing all over again. I’ve lost customers, I’ve lost time I can never get back, and the issue is still not fixed.
To make matters worse, I’m being told they will “honor one month free.” For what exactly? I can’t even add my products. No one has called me back. No one seems to care. I used to love GoDaddy, but it is no longer the same company. This entire experience has been beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. Please save your time and your money — this has truly been the worst experience I’ve ever had.

PREDATORY!! Stay away unless you love being robbed, gaslit and staying on the phone for hours while being passed from department to department and having zero progress getting your site built. It’s a fragmented, hamster wheel of death process intended to drive you crazy. The sales teams lies constantly. They overpromise all their services and abilities. When you ask for a refund, they will refuse to give you a refund because they are “allowed to be poor performers and allowed to take 2 years to build a site". They will take your hard facts about not getting the job done and claim those facts are “opinions” as a way to justify not giving you your money back. Class Action Lawsuit needs to get initiated. I’ll join.
I’ve spoken to 3 web designers who said they are getting tons of business from people leaving GoDaddy. My current web designer logged into my GoDaddy portal and said the team building the site had zero experience and didn’t know how to build. He showed me examples of what they were doing with certain commands and then showed me the proper commands on his Wordpress account when he rebuilt my website. Every automatic email GoDaddy sends claims revisions are complete and the website is ready to be published but it’s all a lie and all performative. Nothing ever gets done.
I highly recommend my guy. Mitch at Biz detail web design in the east bay area. He rebuilt my website in 5 days and is now hosting my site permanently. After 6 weeks with GoDaddy they had yet to recreate my existing website (copy/paste) or upload my project images to the portfolio part of the website. It would have taken them 2 years to rebuild my existing website. Imagine being a new small business owner and a company treating you this way. Stealing your money, time and sanity. They were doing an Ok job with our SSL's when I owned the company. I sold the company in 2024 and the new owners did something different. Now, in 2026, they charged my credit card from my new company for the renewal. When I disputed, they send a copy of an agreement with the company I sold and tried to tell my credit card company they should be paid due to a contract that is not even with the company they are charging. I already have 2 months of fighting with them regarding a company I don't even own, and it isn't over yet. What a bunch of crooks. If you have 2 options for web hosting, I'd seriously consider the other one.

They had my website. I had a renewal email that it was autorenewing for $21.99. I did not pay it any mind since it was $21.99. They took out $485.84 from my bank acct. I called them and they were clueless. I told them to cancel and they proceeded to refund my money. I called them back 2 times and they said it was my bank's fault the money had not arrived. Two weeks later I got my money after disputing it with my bank. Now I am receiving a letter that they have sent me to collections. For what? The refund? The collection company wanted my driver's license # and bank account # in order to talk to me. I said hell no. I called GoDaddy and they advised me that the debt collector worked for them and I had to speak with them. I advised the woman GoDaddy created this problem and she said there was nothing they could do. I said I would see them in court. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.

Upon renewal of our business emails, 2 addresses were completely deleted. It has been5 days and GoDaddy has not fixed the problem. Our business is suffering greatly without email.

My experience with GoDaddy has been extremely disappointing. I’ve invested over $1,000 into a business website that is consistently plagued with bugs that directly impact my customers and orders. As a startup, reliability is critical—and this platform has made things significantly harder. For example, I’ve received multiple customer bookings that don’t appear in my system. I’m currently preparing to teach a class that shows zero attendees on the backend, despite having seven confirmed bookings. That’s not just inconvenient—it’s unacceptable for a business tool.
I’ve also attempted to connect my website to Google Ads through the GoDaddy platform, which did not work. I then tried the reverse—setting up Google Ads directly and connecting it back to GoDaddy—which also failed. It’s incredibly frustrating that even basic marketing integrations don’t function properly. At this point, I’m left wondering—don’t you want to make money from users running ads on your platform?
Customer support has been equally frustrating. Each time I reach out, I’m placed on hold for long periods while they “investigate,” only to be asked if I’m still there. If I don’t respond immediately—even after waiting 30+ minutes—the conversation is closed and I have to start over. This has happened repeatedly. What’s most frustrating is feeling locked into a platform that doesn’t deliver, with no meaningful resolution or refund options—even when the issues stem from product quality. At this point, I’ve contacted support so frequently without results that I plan to document each experience publicly. I would strongly caution others to consider alternative platforms.

Their web design department is horrible. Do not use them. They bombed out website so badly last year that google dropped us and our business is still trying to recover this year. Their SEO services are great and very helpful but not their web design. They are all from foreign countries and talk like they are talking from a script with no solution to your concerns. This year they dropped our gallery 5 times and had some strange symbols that red flagged google and our ranking dropped again after paying them thousands of dollars. When I called them and asked to speak with a supervisor they hung up the phone on us. Don't use their web design services!

Website functions are atrocious. You're charged up-front for a plan, and they lace it with extra advertisements for transactions. On top of the extra 'features' they try to track onto your subscription, they have AI features that you cannot build your website without, and it's not only obnoxious, but infuriating. All of the features of their website are downright terrible.
As if it's not bad enough for the website itself, to get a refund, you have to spend hours of your time, not calling an agent, but texting them. They often choose not to reply and will waste precious hours of your time trying to get you to do things, then, when you think you get close, they have another string attached. For example, I'll have been texting for an hour trying to get even just minimal progress done, but guess what? You need another verification code sent to your email! So fun! I love it when the agent does not answer questions and instead links me with a different interface!
They do not care about your customer experience at all and want to keep your money that they don't deserve, even on the first day of purchase. I've never had to organize with an agent over text, and it's clear they don't care about wasting your money at all. I've never been so dissatisfied with a website or product in my life, whether it be the return policy, their lack of communication with their customer, or even when kept cordial. They've rapidly modernized in the sense that their corporation is following the anti-customer structure. I've wasted so many hours just trying to get my money back.
In the images below, you can see how long this texting takes; the agent takes constant breaks when YOUR money is at stake. Furthermore, when you explicitly state certain things, the agent ignores you and asks you anyway, wasting more of your time instead of just getting to the point. My dissatisfaction is immense. This is not a personal gripe of mine, but your average refund time is 5-7 business days. If you're struggling with money, it's yet another reason not to fork it over to them. Do not buy from this website.

I used to be Godaddy customer for more than 10 years…I had domains and hosting services with them but their service goes bad year after year. Last year suddenly ssl certificates for the webs stop working. The hosting service were not the luxury one, but medium, which are not cheap. Today, for same service I pay less than half to most of other providers. All websites were simply, as company presentation, not complex ones with online shops, offers…etc. On the backend, at domain administration page all ssl certificates shown as valid and working, but in reality every visitor land on an error page warning them the site can be a dangerous one as it has no certificate.
The so good winning awards 24/7 support is useless, other than talking with a bot for the first 10 minute repeating them all your credentials, they finally put you in contact with a useless person, who after 20 minutes of trying to understand what happened, try to make you buy new certificates. As all hosting services were paid for many years, you are trapped on this dirt game. So it is cheaper to pay a certificate then to move everything that was already paid for years in advance, pay the domain transfer and do the work moving all files to a new provider. I feel robbed, so after some days of trying to solve the problem without any success, I decided I prefer to move out, even loosing money. I did it with all the domains and all hosting services. I put all documents in a lawyer hands and I just hope they will pay somehow.

I attempted to purchase the a domain through GoDaddy's main platform after it was listed as both 'Verified' and 'Premium' at $999. GoDaddy's own system issued an Order Confirmation, charged a domain transfer fee, and scheduled auto-renewal, confirming a completed transaction. GoDaddy subsequently cancelled the purchase with no valid explanation. Upon investigation, WHOIS and ICANN registry data confirm the domain is registered to GoDaddy.com LLC, parked on GoDaddy's own Afternic nameservers, and locked with all four client prohibitions, meaning only GoDaddy can control this domain. GoDaddy's support team provided three completely contradictory explanations for the cancellation under the same case number within 24 hours, including a written admission that the domain is registered at GoDaddy and that the listing appeared due to GoDaddy's own technical error.
Prior to this purchase, I was also deceptively enrolled in GoDaddy's Domain Broker Service through a Buy It Now button identical to a standard purchase button, after which a broker pushed $12,500 to $25,000 for the same domain listed publicly at $999. I have escalated this matter to GoDaddy's executive team including the CEO, filed a BBB complaint, and am preparing Arizona AG and FTC filings. GoDaddy has not provided a satisfactory resolution to date. Now reading these other current reviews, I'm afraid I will have to escalate insanely far beyond what I intended to do to get their attention and get this rectified. BEWARE OF THE BAIT & SWITCH!!!!

Irie Attire.com has had a FUNCTIONAL ecommerce store on GoDaddy since 2023. I took my time and built my website as I did not have the money to hire an expert. My site turned out well for the small business I was starting. GoDaddy sent an email stating they were switching to a new and better infrastructure with Airo. My site has been down since they switched. My products did not sync, I'm unable to update my products, my store is gone and when I try to add my products with variants, I get an error. My site is currently down, affecting my business and I'm still being charged by GoDaddy for a site that they destroyed. I've spent hours on the phone and no resolution. I still cannot access my store or add my products with variants, price, nor quantity. I'm told I have to READD each product and that still does not work. My site is currently unpublished thanks to GoDaddy. WORST HOST!

GoDaddy charged my American Express card $210.90 on January 8, 2026 for a 5-year renewal of jiaflixsite.com, including domain renewal and privacy protection. After taking payment, the domain appeared parked by GoDaddy rather than restored to me. When I contacted GoDaddy by phone, I was told the domain had been removed from my account and that I would have to pay again to recover it.
My issue is not simply auto-renewal. It is that GoDaddy accepted payment for renewal but did not properly provide the renewed access/service associated with that payment. What made this worse was the lack of any meaningful written support channel, leaving no clear paper trail and no practical way to document what I was told or get a meaningful resolution. Based on this experience, I moved my domains and hosting elsewhere.

Good luck trying to cancel your services. I called to cancel yesterday, the agent was very rude, and guess what? I was charged $180 today. Called back again, spoke to a new agent who did a better job, but guess what? That money won’t be returned for ten days and my bank account took a hard hit when I had been proactive about my subscriptions. It wasn’t even a service I had purchased on its own previously, they just added it when I canceled. Not to mention that logging into my account has always been a hassle, getting stuck in a stupid verification loop and doing the same thing over and over for five or six times before getting through.
Emails don’t load and you can see people trying to contact your business, but you can’t respond! Their apps are janky, customer support is lousy, upsells are astronomical, and the renewals are expensive and difficult to cancel. Do better GoDaddy. People use your platform to set up their whole business and you don’t take care of them at all! Zero stars if I could.

GoDaddy website enterprise is owned by greedy scamming thieves. They lure you into signing up for what they promise will be an attractive and lucrative website for hundreds of dollars. One's enthusiasm evaporates when you discover it is not user friendly. Customer service does not help, instead they refer you to expensive website designers (how many of us can afford that?). They refuse to offer refunds even in the case of medical conditions.

Forgot to update they wanted to charge me an extra 60 to do something that takes them literally 3 min but they wanted to upcharge me for no reason so I canceled. Do not use this company. On top of that the customer service manager mocked me and talked to me like he was literally my daddy. So unprofessional. Do not use this company. Way better companies out there.

GoDaddy is NOT what they claim to be!!! They offer the world and actually provide nothing!!! Unfortunately, we ended up being on their platform when they purchased Media Temple. To transfer an existing website worked ok. But, then, we wanted to create a second website that involved ecommerce, which our original website did not have. Formatting the new website was OK -- the templates offered are extremely limited, which is not what they "sell". Getting into the ecommerce part of their platform was a total nightmare!!!
The tax tables in GoDaddy DO NOT Work. Shipping is a joke!!! They claim if you pay more money for their add on, Alvara, or something like that, then things will work!!! We tried ad nauseam to work with customer service with no success. However, that is not what they sell to get you to sign up!!! We ended up transferring both websites to another platform and actually using WordPress to create the second website. Soooooo much better and easier!!! The new platform actually has no cost add ons that work for shipping and sales tax!!! We contacted GoDaddy for a refund, since we will no longer be using them for anything but domain name registration. No luck!!! Even though they don't follow through on promises, you as a customer are SOL!!! They are not a ethical company at all in my mind!!! BEWARE!!!

I want to share my experience with GoDaddy in hopes it helps other small business owners. Over the past year I paid thousands of dollars to have a very simple website built and managed. The site was only five pages with two products, yet it continually had serious problems. Despite making over 80 phone calls to customer support, the same issues kept happening. Pages were duplicated, errors appeared throughout the site, the entire order page kept disappearing meaning customers couldn’t even place an order. Every issue has been documented including supplying my phone call log.
After months of trying to get the issues resolved, I finally wrote to the company requesting a full refund and asking them to shut the site down because it continued to break down. Unfortunately, they did not even extend the courtesy of responding to my request. Because of the lack of response and ongoing problems, I have now filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General’s office. Small businesses rely on professional services to function properly. Unfortunately, this experience has been extremely frustrating and costly.

I started a business and could not work/operate for the first 4 days as a result of software licensing issues with my 365 Business Standard package. 4 straight days of no help and the same "uninstall and reinstall" crap from their poorly trained customer service. They ended up deleting my email account to disconnect it from the tenant (so I could purchase Office directly from Microsoft) and ended up causing an error on their end that will now take 24-48 hours to resolve. So now I have no company email or office applications for another 2 days during the first week of business. On top of this, they continually tried to sell me website services and did not give a refund on the subscription, even though i was never able to use it.
This is the most appalling service and customer service I have ever been provided and has caused significant stress and loss of work/business during literally the most crucial time for my start up (the first week). DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE OTHER THAN ESTABLISH A DOMAIN. BUY YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS DIRECTLY FROM MICROSOFT. I cannot believe that a company this poor would have survived as long as it has.

They lure you into buying an eMail address. After 7 days messing around it seems the eMail addresses are not compatible with what I tried to achieve. Requested a Refund on day 9 after purchase and was refused. Bad bad bad experience with GoDaddy.

Don't do it. You'll kill yourself. But seriously, they are the worst. I've had websites with them that got blocked because of some kind of technical glitch on their end. I lost customers and business because people weren't able to access my sites. It took me a couple of months to find this out when I began to get emails from customers that they were being blocked. I thought at first that maybe they were just typing in my url incorrectly. Then I tried to log in and I was blocked. I contacted GoDaddy. They acknowledged is was an issue on their end. No apologies. No attempt at compensating me for lost business, just a scolding of why didn't I contact them sooner. They try to milk every dollar from their clients but the service they provide is a disservice and sucks big time, and they are always trying to upsell you. Avoid this company l like the plague.

The worst experience I’ve ever had. 3 1/2 hours on the phone and then I get somebody on there to tell me or asking me what my issue is starting from beginning. From the beginning they asked me my issue. I tell them I give them IDs. I give them billing information. I give them all the information they need and they still cannot come back with an answer. They cannot help me and I’m still at the same spot I was to begin with. I am so frustrated with this company. I’ve been dealing with them since 2018 and since they have moved, it has been the worst experience of my life and will ever be. I will never ever do the business with these guys again, and you should not either.

Expensive and they didn't want to cancel my annual subscription for an email address after it automatically renewed. It renewed on the 7th of February, and I requested the cancellation and refund on the 24th. The motive was: company policy.... Bullshit.
