Very disappointed in All State. We've had insurance for years with them so I advised my son to get his insurance through them. He does. They have left him hanging for over 6 months with a vehicle that he had taken in for repair after a deer hit and the place he took it to bent his frame and never said a word! Now All State has been giving him a run around and NOT returning his phone calls in a timely manner meaning weeks go by before returning his calls. Now they raised his insurance another 74.00 a month. It amazes me how fast they'd drop you if you didn't pay your premium on time but they can dawdle around for as long as they feel like. I think it's time for a change in insurance.

⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Terrible Experience. My experience with Allstate was nothing short of a nightmare. I originally chose them for insurance coverage, but over time, my premiums continued to increase to the point where I simply couldn’t justify staying with them. After finding a better and more affordable insurance company, I made the decision to switch providers.
To avoid any issues, I waited until the end of my policy period and followed the proper cancellation process. I thought everything was taken care of. Then, out of nowhere, Allstate charged me an additional $135 after my policy had already been cancelled. When I contacted them, they claimed it was for the remaining cost of coverage for the last few days of the policy. Their explanation was confusing, inconsistent, and made very little sense considering the timing of my cancellation.
What truly pushed this experience from frustrating to infuriating was the complete lack of customer service. I spoke with multiple representatives, hoping someone would take the time to review the situation and help resolve the issue. Instead, I was met with indifference, scripted responses, and absolutely no effort to assist me. Every conversation felt like they were more interested in defending the charge than helping a customer understand or resolve the problem.
The entire situation left me feeling completely ripped off. Charging customers unexpected fees after cancellation is bad enough, but refusing to properly address concerns or provide meaningful support is unacceptable. It felt like once I decided to leave, Allstate no longer cared about treating me fairly. This experience destroyed any trust I had in this company. Between the excessive premiums, the surprise charge, and the useless customer service, I can confidently say this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with an insurance provider.
I will never do business with Allstate again, and I would strongly discourage anyone considering them from signing up. There are plenty of insurance companies out there that offer better rates, better communication, and actually value their customers. Save yourself the headache, frustration, and unexpected charges—look elsewhere. Based on my experience, Allstate was expensive, unhelpful, and unwilling to take responsibility when billing concerns were raised. One of the easiest one-star reviews I’ve ever given.

This has been, without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had with an auto insurance company. I called Allstate simply to ask for a quote and review the premium for one specific vehicle on my policy. During that call, the representative removed one of my vehicles from my policy without my authorization, without informing me, and without obtaining any confirmation from me. I only discovered this by accident when I later checked my policy online.
When I contacted Allstate to ask why my vehicle had been removed, the representative added it back. However, after the vehicle was restored to the policy, my monthly premium suddenly increased by approximately $200 within minutes. I was then told that I might be responsible for paying the higher amount even though the issue was caused by an Allstate representative.
Over the next two days, I spent countless hours trying to resolve this situation. I spoke with approximately 15 different representatives. Some transferred me repeatedly after long conversations, some told me that an investigation was ongoing, and others could not provide any clear explanation or solution. Most concerning, I experienced multiple calls being disconnected after spending significant time explaining the issue.
During my most recent call, I spent over 30 minutes with a representative while he reviewed my account. After placing me on hold and continuing to “look into it,” the call was simply disconnected. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of accountability, poor customer service, and the inability to correct an error that was made by your own employee. Customers should not have to pay for mistakes made by Allstate representatives, nor should they have to spend days trying to get a straightforward issue resolved. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Allstate to anyone.

This company is terrible. They cover nothing and pretty much tell you that you are on your own.

I had Allstate for home and car. I discovered recently that Allstate car insurance I was paying double compared to other insurances. Also, their staff not knowledgeable about their products misleading customers. One particular agency is Christine ** insurance located in Manassas VA. I complaint to corporate office and also changed my insurance. KEEP AWAY FROM ALLSTATE. The company overcharge customers and above all they DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Have rain pouring in our house and Allstate isn’t helping us at all. Said they’d fix the drywall which would literally just get soaked all over again. They won’t help because they can’t see damage to our siding, even though rain is pouring in multiple places on one wall of our home suddenly. Estimates repair is $15K. They won’t help us at all.

You're NOT in good hands with Allstate. Consumer beware. I've been a customer for 11 years - auto, home and life. Paid premium prices for comprehensive auto insurance. Bought a used vehicle on December 30, 2025 in pristine condition for a good price at fair market value ($21.500). I drove it less than 100 miles and on Jan 25, 2026 an interior fire from a heater blower caused enough damage that Allstate deemed it a total loss.
After several emails and hours of attempting to reach a reasonable agreement, their best settlement offer was $18,500. DON'T BE FOOLED AND READ THE FINE PRINT. They use a company called CCC One to give their valuations and justify low market value. When I challenged the claims adjuster comparables (he just included more of the same). In other words, he sent me 22 "comparable" vehicles that had significantly higher mileage, different motor, style and features. They don't recognize the valuations of Kelly Blue Book, NADA, Edmonds, JD Powers, etc. I talked with the state insurance commission, an attorney and several auto dealers - all agreed that Allstate's valuations were low but protected by the FINE PRINT. The good news is this... I've easily switched to State Farm and will be saving +/- $300 a month for auto and home insurances. If you are considering them, don't.

I had a horrible experience with Allstate. They aren't my insurance provider but I dealt with them because a person insurance with them hit my vehicle. I should have known they were up to NO good when they asked me the innocent bystander to pay for the rental car and then claimed I would be reimbursed for it. In hindsight I should have been told in the initial phone call when asked what body shop I would be using and them setting up a reservation for me with Enterprise of a daily rate they were going to cover. I wasn't provided this information. Enterprise didn't have a car available which I would assume is what they only cover at full price, even thought I drive a nice pickup truck. So since I was given a daily rate I assumed they would cover whatever vehicle was available at the time at full price. I was so very wrong.
I just got notified that I'm only getting a fraction back because of they daily rate they cove or the "National minimum amount stated by the state" something to that effect the manager said. During the long conversation we had he acknowledged they dropped the ball but he was unwilling to make it right. Please be careful when dealing with Allstate. They will not budge even if you have a solid argument on how you're right and they are wrong.

My overall experience was fairly good until this past year. I change to a different company, and my mortgage company sent the renewal payment to Allstate after my cancellation in error. Since March the check was sent, and Allstate staff has confirmed the check was cashed 4/6/26. I have called multiple times a week. I have reach out to my mortgage company they have provided proof of the canceled check and to date 5/8/26. Allstate refuses to return the payment to me or my mortgage company. Every call is a different reason why they can locate the money to return it.

ALLSTATE IS HORRIBLE!!! DON'T DESERVE EVEN 1 STAR!!!! First they don't provide you with the correct policy & payment info. I was quoted one thing, and billed entirely different. I asked was roadside included in the quote and was advised yes, then months later discovered this was a separate payment and was auto enrolled by an Allstate rep directly. I've never been able to login for roadside assistance, but they were taking my money using the payment info provided to start the policy and never advised me. Fast forward to today, and I'm finding out the policy cancelled. There was no call to try to keep me as a customer, but still took my money for roadside assistance.
The app is also horrible. It's not very user friendly and doesn't offer as many options to keep info updated as other insurance app do. Customer service is THE WORST. Every rep is quick to say they have been doing this for more than 5 years, but never get it right. Every rep tells you something different then blames the prior rep for giving inaccurate information. Every rep is always apologetic for prior experienced rep, which is crazy if you have years of experience, what are you constantly apologizing for. Keep in mind, I've only had the now cancelled policy for less than 1 year, and it's no way I'm going to continue. It would have been nice to have been a valued customer, but clearly that was not considered. Please don't waste your time or money. It is not worth it.
