I bought an LG washer and dryer in 2023. They are awful. The washing machine often does not even wet some of the clothing because there is so little water. If I use bleach in one wash, the next wash has bleach spots and streaks where some bleach apparently was left over and obviously went into the next wash. So after using bleach I have to run rags or nothing in a wash cycle to get rid of the bleach without ruining more clothes. The dryer controls are annoying because if I change one thing, say, the spin level, it will automatically change the temperature of the wash water, so LooK Out for it changing things you didn't want changed.

Crappy machines. I am thinking of buying some other brand new even though these are only 2 1/2 years old because I continue to have hassles with them every week. That being said, if you can put up with this nonsense, the machines will actually wash and dry your clothes --just not the way you wanted. DO NOT BUY LG Washer/Dryer.

I've only had my LG top loader six months and it is the worst purchase I've ever made. The clothes often have a residue, presumably from soapsuds, since I don't use a powder detergent. They are usually twisted and tangled together and always so wrinkled, I've had to go back to ironing, even though I take them out the second the spin cycle is done. I tried to get advice online, but I refuse to be charged $5.00 to "talk" to someone online. Terrible service.

I bought an LG top loader washing machine 5 years ago and it is the worst machine I have ever had in 35 years of being married. This LG machine barely removes stains even with a spray and soaking. The whites don’t come out white. I spray every single sock till it is soaked in Shout before it goes in and even then they still don’t come out clean. The agitation sucks, it barely moves the clothes around. You don’t even hear the swooshing noise of the water. So you know the clothes aren’t moving enough to get cleaned. Every time I have tried to put in a load of towels they never spin at a good enough speed to get out all the water out. They are so laden with water I can barely lift them out of the machine.

Every time I try the Spin Only cycle it fills the machine up with water again and I go through the whole process of the towels being soaking wet all over again. I have to wring them out by hand and let them air dry a bit before I can put them in the dryer. It is so frustrating. My advice to you is walk directly past any LG machine. The saying that you get what you pay for applies here and unfortunately this washer and dryer set were the only ones I could afford at the time, the cheapest. Lesson learned. This is the only experience where I have wanted to get rid of an appliance because it is that horrible, even though it is in working condition.

Their customer service dept does not know how their machines work. Told this by a repairman they use. They will not refund $175 for vent cleaning which THEIR customer service told me to do in order to proceed. When I asked repairman why couldn't customer service just say what was possibly wrong he said "because they do not know how their machines work." Now because it was not a defect they will not refund my money for vent cleaning that they told me I had to do under warranty rules.

Don’t buy directly from LG!! This is an experienced customer who suffered greatly by LG’s delivery outsource. Waited all day into the evening and I still have not heard anything from the delivery company!!!! Buy elsewhere not on LG website. Customer service is disgusting!! Save yourself immense frustration!! Wished I never bought from this company!!

I had the worst experience with my LG top-load washer. Whenever I washed white sheets, they actually came out dirtier, sometimes with visible residue, and I had to rewash them two or three times. In contrast, I had a great experience with my Kenmore washer. I used it for over 15 years without any issues. I still even have the matching dryer. With the LG machine, I also had to clean the washer itself almost every month using a special cleaning powder, which felt excessive and frustrating.

I had an LG top loader washer, one of the top end products. In ten years, it needed a few major repairs, but the worst part is the customer service at LG. They have a flat rate repair program, and I first verified my machine was eligible. It was. Then you are on AI chat for hours and getting sent to different departments. The next day, when the tech was to arrive, no one showed up. I basically spent hours going through the process again. They mistranscribed the address, and told the next tech it was a dryer.

Finally, when I tried to get things clarified, and more hours on chat and hold, they had me re-enter information and said I was not eligible for the program and were sorry the first rep got it wrong. A completely stupid communication disaster that wasted hours of my time. If you want a durable washer, go with Speed Queen. If you want to keep your sanity, avoid LG at all costs.

Not six months after buying an LG washing machine, my unit decided to display the "DL" message. That means the lid didn't lock. The online repair technician's only advice was to "reboot" the unit - that is - unplug then plug it back in. That did nothing but waste time. So, then I reached out to a local appliance place. After a week of one thing after another - and burning $450 in the process - I decided to get a new unit, as the cost(s) continued to mount. Even the technician said LG washing machines were **. His words... not mine. Judging from what I've seen so far -- he's right.

Wish I had read these reviews before trusting Google ratings and my prior experience with LG front-loading washer. At this point, my biggest grievance is with Home Depot where I purchased machine along with dryer 3 weeks ago. More detail about issues with Home Depot will be provided in separate review, but first problems with machine were connected with Home Depot's ridiculous 48-hour return policy. This along with LG's very short 1 or 2 year warranty, should have been my first red flags.

Due to other commitments, I only got to really test machine on day 2 of 48 hours. After a couple of routine loads, proceeded to wash some bedding, which caused uneven load. Ultimately, had to run through wash again, but still no spin out (no uneven warning this time - just what appeared to be end of cycle). Tried a different load with mattress pad and throw. No spin out. Called Home Depot to lodge complaint in 48 hours. A few days later washed similar bedding I had washed Day 1. No rinse or spin out.

Next load was sheets and machine leaked. Home Depot installers instantly said it was manufacturer's issue and ordered replacement. Still don't have it and getting run around from Home Depot. Sorry, LG. The machine I had before functioned well for 16 years, but I believe the appliances you and others market through Home Depot are clearly substandard. More to that, but never again will I purchase an appliance from Home Depot. Addendum: Just received call from Home Depot indicating most recent delay is problem with vendor. OK so LG is bigger part of problem than I thought.
