Started Noom meds after 4 weeks and I have not received the GLP1s that were promised to be delivered in 1 week. The first 4 weeks are supposed to be a trial period. Then they charge $800+. They insisted they had to charge the $800+ even though I had never received the medication. Contacted customer service numerous times and they kept saying, "We are sorry, this is frustrating." When I called and demanded a refund they told me it had shipped and they could not offer one. Then one week later they stated it was still processing and had not been shipped. Now I have paid over 1k and have never received any medication or tracking and just a lot of "I am sorry for the inconvenience."

Profit over safety and service. After spending over $1000 setting up my new Noom app for my personal weight loss journey, I was surprised to see it all come to an abrupt end so close to my goal. Communication from the point of discontinuing the GPL one stopped abruptly and has been a nightmare, trying to find history and regenerate all the work I have done on the app. I would say if you’re searching for a weight loss program, Noom is a non-starter. It takes a team and although their initial structure is in the right place, they fall short with service and communication. Service and communication are the primary items you need to get through your journey. Spend your money with someone else, perhaps local with humans.

My experience with Noom was disappointing from start to finish. The program promises psychology-based coaching and personalized support, but most of what you actually get is a series of short articles and reminders to log your meals. The “coaching” felt impersonal and scripted, and the group feature was largely inactive. For the price, I expected real guidance and interaction. Instead it felt like paying for basic information that’s widely available elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend it unless the program becomes much more personalized and reasonably priced.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Evan. We appreciate your feedback about the coaching, group feature, and overall value. I felt pressured into paying for a plan that I didn't end up using. I don't carry my phone with me, and counting steps is one of the largest pieces of this stupid program. Also, I hate their food log. You can't easily see what you've eaten or how many calories you have left for the day. It also did not have a lot of foods that I eat. Finally, I'm not the type of person who constantly needs to be rewarded with stars, badges and all of that garbage. I really hated this program and I wish I hadn't wasted my money on it.

I signed up for Noom med at the beginning of the month, and within a few days after a very long sign-up process, I received my GLP one compound. Everything was going well until it came time for the renewal. There is no other choice other than paying over $850 for several months of GLP one med after the trail month. In my opinion, there should be different plans. My intention with GLP one just use it for 1 to 2 months to get myself started on my weight loss journey. That said I canceled my subscription several days before the re-order was supposed to happen. The Customer Service rep did not explain to me that I would lose all access to the counselor (who sounded partially AI) and the assigned physician and every other support that they offered during the Noom med subscription. I was basically on my own and I still had two doses left.
I called again after I found out that all this was immediately canceled after that initial phone call, the customer service rep and his supervisor reviewed my conversation with the other CSR and I was told that it was my responsibility to tell them when to cancel my account. I argued that as well and they gave me a partial refund of my first month period. My suggestion to anybody using Noom is buyer beware and ask as many questions as you can. It is very difficult to find the 888 number but you can. Again buyer beware!
Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate your feedback regarding plan structure, renewals, and how cancellation affects access to clinicians and support. Noom teaches how to monitor your diet by judging caloric density. I went through the program 3 times. The first time, I got very tired of recording every bite, mostly because Noom, being an international company, has measurements that are unfamiliar to everyone. I suggest getting a food scale to measure grams if you are going to try the program. The first time I lost about 5 pounds for 6 months of work, including having a Noom counselor I spoke with online. I was active: open-water swimming, kayaking, walking and speed-bag boxing.
The second time with Noom, I went on semi-glutide medication as a weekly injection and I lost 27 pounds in 6 months. I was in an accident and had extensive surgery for repairs and gained back 20 pounds while recovering; I was off the medication and not as active. The third time I tried Noom, I was put on Liraglutide, which is a daily injection and it seemed to do nothing at all. This medication doesn't stay in the body as long as the semi-glutide medication. I didn't like giving myself a daily injections. I was again, more active as I recovered from the accident, but the medication didn't seem to slow my digestion or to have any effect. I was on the medication for four months with no weight loss.
I have learned the "behavior modification" concepts with Noom and I don't regret the educational aspect, but I would have to say that without medication the program is not very helpful. All in all, this program was very disappointing for me. I am not obese, but I am overweight. I am active and wanted to lose 20-25 pounds.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad the behavioral tools were helpful, though we’re sorry the overall program didn’t meet your expectations. I used NOOM a few years ago when it was provided as part of my health insurance, and it was helpful. I re-signed up for it at the beginning of this month and found many not great changes. I found the gamer-style interface annoying and frankly demeaning. I am not a 12-year-old. The "insights" on your meals were not helpful - every single suggestion included adding quinoa, a food I absolutely cannot stand. I found the psychology tips provided to be basic and unhelpful. When I expressed dissatisfaction with the app, the AI-generated response was that they would get me to a "real" coach, which never happened. For the cost of this subscription, I will go to a nutritionist who will take my personal likes and dislikes of food, along with my activity level, to come up with a plan.

Be aware, if you do a free trial and cancel, they will still charge you. I had a free trial, cancelled it well before the trial ended and I was charged $280 and not aware of it at the time of the charge. I don't want anyone being surprised by the unknown charge, like I was. I am sure that the program works, it does seem like a good program, based on science. Just be aware of using the free trial, it doesn't end up being free.

I used the program successfully then discontinued due to the nature of my work and travelling. I renewed with the intention of repeating the very satisfactory results I had previously but I did not dedicate enough time for the process. I just checked my credit card statement to find that I had been auto-renewed with email notification prior and I am very unhappy with this. Although I am absolutely confident I cancelled this subscription earlier this year I cannot find the email confirming this. I just checked my emails from NOOM and there was no email received to notify me of the upcoming auto-renewal.
This is a disingenuous business practice and I would not recommend NOOM to anyone based on this unethical business practice. There appears to be no recourse for this situation so I've just paid another $275.00 for 9 months of nothing. Billings cycles are also typically 12 months for memberships therefore atypical duration can also only be interpreted as another disingenuous tactic to catch members off guard and get more money from them.

The worst experience I've ever had with a company. I asked for the product not to be sent because I was on vacation. They sent it anyway. All this company cares about is making money not helping people. I spoke to someone everyday and still they messed up. How do they not communicate with one another. And the coaches did nothing to help me. They only gave me a partial refund because the meds sat outside till I could get someone to receive it. It took multiple phone calls, emails and the lack of communication at this company is the worst I've seen and not only did I not lose weight on the product but I gained weight and got sick. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT USE NOOM for weight loss meds. You will be highly disappointed. Citizen Meds worked so much better and cheaper.

RUN! Noom Med isn’t healthcare. It’s the Fyre Festival of telemedicine. This has been, without exaggeration, one of the most chaotic, unsafe, and incompetent “medical” experiences I’ve ever had. My GLP-1 medication arrived four days late and at room temperature, their chatbot and doctor both confirmed the vial was unsafe and should not be used, but no replacement was ever sent.
Their “care team” is a revolving door of copy-and-paste chatbots who open tickets with promises of escalations but then the next rep sees no record of it and I start over. Rinse, repeat. That is, until they abruptly cut off my access to live chat then cancelled my subscription and access to the app with a partial refund. Mind you, I never received any usable medication, but apparently, sending the medication NOOM itself told me not to take counts as “services rendered”. It’s a joke. NOOM clearly wanted to cash in on the glp1 craze by adding “med” however, they didn’t invest in an infrastructure to support it - there’s no escalation path, no pharmacist involvement, no clinical oversight, and zero accountability at all levels. I’ve filed a BBB complaint and a CC dispute in the hopes of getting a full refund.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, Lisa. We are sorry your experience with Noom has not been satisfactory. I have been on the phone with 2 different people, contacted both parties that I was directed to speak with (via the app which is the only way), emailed the department I was instructed to contact…all to be ignored. I got a subscription and to me it was fine even though I did not lose much weight. After a few months I found it too expensive so decided to cancel. I cancelled 4 months before the deadline. I went into my account and cancelled. I tried to remove my credit card info but it would not let me. When the renewal came they charged me again for a yearly subscription. I fought it through my credit card company and got the refund back on my card. Now an entire year later they have charged me again. When I go into my account it says I have no active subscriptions but obviously this mean nothing as they are still charging me. Now I have to fight it through my credit card company again which is a pain. So STAY AWAY is my recommendation. I will have to cancel my credit card I think.

Great app, very intuitive and easy to use. HOWEVER, when they charge you, it might get flagged for fraud. That's what happened to me. Then I paid them and now they erased my profile and will not help me to regain my login. I have gone through their app for support, and called and each time they "escalate" my issue to the next level of support and then nothing. I got two emails after 4 days of back and forth with them and one said that the issue was resolved (which it was not) and another that acknowledged the issue and asked me to reply to the email and they would get back to me in 4 hours, it's been over that now and I have nothing. I am going to try to get a refund from the Apple Store and warn as many people as possible to beware that Noom is a great app, but pray to all that is holy that you don't have to ever talk to their tech support as they will leave you hanging.

I’ve used Noom in the past. I have been 60-70 pound overweight for a while. I have a healthy diet and active lifestyle. Even working out six days a week I was 40 pounds overweight. I tried Noom and, as with all other approaches I’ve tried, including acupuncture, I lost 8 pounds. As I’ve gotten older, I have had more problems with arthritis joint stiffness and pain. When I leaned about GLP-1s I talked with my doctor and we agreed I should try Wegovy. I had early success with Wegovy, was stagnant when I reached the 1.0 dose and then had success again at 1.7, ultimately losing 19 pounds. The. My insurance changed Wegovy coverage and even with the $225 coupon my co-pay went from $24.99 to $419 a month. Yep.
I decided to try Noom Med because it was advertised at $299 a month. I completed all the questions, including ones indicating I was taking Wegovy. I asked if the Noom GLP-1 dosing was the same as Wegovy and was told yes. I paid the $149 trial period, joined the app, and received the meds. 1) My Noom doctor told me I was approved for 1.0. I was confused because I was already at 1.7 with Wegovy. 2) The Noom dosing chart did not have a 1.0 option so I asked my Care Coordinator what to do. The CC said I was eligible for 1.2. This was confusing.
3) The medicine comes in vial. It says Qty 2 on it. I thought two doses. I also thought this was a bit dangerous because an under could just use the entire vial at once. Wegovy comes in pre-filled pens (that I hate). I’ve taken other medicines that were self measure and self-inject but never even considered the abuse possibility.
4) After two doses of Noom GLP and three weeks, I’ve gained 3.5 pounds. My sugar cravings are creeping back. I had no side effects or other issues. I just think the dose is too low to do me any good. 5) I asked about the Qty 2 on the vial because I was expecting another shipment of two more doses. I was told that was an error and it should say Qty 1. Well, that makes no sense. 6) I searched all over the Noom app for a medication report and reminder option. Asked help about it. Got a run around. Gave up. The next day I got a text alert that I could record my meds 🤷🏻♀️.
In sum: I find the advertising disingenuous because it says you can transition from other GLPs but you can’t really. I find the MD/Care Coordinator misalignment very worrisome. 3) I find the quality control and confusion around that alarming. 4) of course I find the weight gain frustrating and I feel like I wasted money and time. 5) if you don’t understand nutrition or the protein/muscle loss issues with rapid weight loss, I think the Noom app or other tracker would be extremely helpful. And exercise apps, including what Noom offers are also very helpful. I already use iFIT so didn’t use that function.
I canceled Noom yesterday and rearranged my finances to starts Wegovy again. I might consider Noom Med as a maintenance once I get to my desired weight but only if the quality control issues are fixed (because how can you trust that the medicine inside the vial was done correctly if they can’t even figure out what to put on the label). If this is important - I am a behavioral scientist and have studied the theory behind Noom. I think it’s valuable for people who really feel they need guidance. The Med part I would leave to your actual primary care physician if the price mark works for you.

Now I know why you have to PAY for the trial period - most people probably don't stick with this program. I was looking for something that could give me support and community in my weight loss. Noom doesn't do this. Their food tracker is grossly off in nutritional info (nonfat Greek yogurt, 3/4 cup has 100 calories, not 139, etc). The color system is also grossly wrong - Kung Pao chicken is NOT a GREEN FOOD! If anything a yellow, but I'd put it as an orange. Their barcode scanner doesn't work as well. The articles are very basic and blah - not a lot of detail. The messaging is a chatbot, wouldn't trust it. There is no community page to connect with other users. You are better off doing the free version of MFP - you would have a more accurate food database, community and good, informative articles.
