I used Lending Tree for some HELOC Options in August 2025. The lending portion was smooth and quick. However, it is now June 2026 and I continue to get bombarded with 5-7 calls A FREAKING DAY! I have called Lending Tree and asked to be removed from marketing lists, I deny the calls and choose Option 9 (removed from list) to no avail. I have spoken with the lenders, no help. My cell phone Voicemail literally gets FULL, in about 9 days because of Lending Tree. I would strongly recommend no one ever uses them. They need to get a better handle on selling your information. It’s been almost a year and they are selling my name as a new lead. T. M.

Horrible experience. I was expecting to provide LendingTree basic information for the type of loan I was going for, and then have them respond back with a list of lenders and enough information about each for me to focus on the 2 or 3 I most wanted to deal with. Instead, I received no information about rates or terms, and 19 different voicemails in the first 48 hours. It looks like LendingTree just forwarded my contact information on to a bunch of lender's contact lists, and kicked off a huge spam bomb.

Don’t ever ever EVER use this Lending Tree website. I’m hounded on my phone day in and day out. On Sunday’s and holidays also. Go to individual, reputable, well known lenders if you are seeking a loan of any kind…you’re better off. Now Lending tree reps are going to read this, come back and say “we are so sorry…blah blah blah…and if you can blah blah blah, to stop these calls”. BS…before they respond…BS. This bordering on 100s of calls in the past several months…all by “different” lenders. One try to ask me to taken off the list, the caller replied “it takes up to 72 hours to remove”. What???? You’ll never get the you number off their lists. NEVER. I don’t care what they say or respond.
Now I’m 100% sure this was in all their disclaimers and fine print on the original request I put in months ago. That’s fine and THAT'S ALL MY FAULT. But that doesn’t mean I can’t ward off those who haven’t used this site yet. Sure you can set your iPhone phone to ignore unknown numbers, but what about different doctors and pharmacies, etc. that call you? Sorry guys, but stay way way WAY!!!…away from Lending Tree.

I only wanted to know how much payment would be on a $30,000.00 loan. Also interest rate. Ended up with all kinds of questions which I foolishly answered while not receiving any of the info I requested. I finally stopped and backtracked and closed site. My phone immediately rang, it was them calling. I told them I changed my mind and was not interested. As of now, Lending Tree companies are calling me from all over the U.S.A. As fast as l block calls another one calls. I don't answer, sometimes send a not interested message then block that number. They must have a million associated companies. They did not bother to share with any of them that I am not interested. DON'T CONTACT LENDING TREE! YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY! If I had actually decided I wanted a loan I know better than to call them. They should not have circulated my info until I had completed the online data.

Literally within 10 seconds of submitting my inquiry for refinance rates, I received 3 texts and 10 phone calls. The calls have not stopped and it's been over a week. On average, I get about 60 spam calls a day now, 7 days a week. It has not slowed down. For the sake of your own sanity, do not do anything with Lending Tree!!!

If you want to get bombarded with dozens of texts and phone calls beginning the SECOND you submit your innocent little “hey I wonder what kind of rate and payment a loan might be” inquiry, and keep getting text-bombed and phone-bombed for days and days afterwards, Lending Tree is perfect for you.

Over and over and over they keep calling. I asked them so many times to remove my number. I've never applied for a loan. They steal your information and sell it on the market unbelievable. I've told them they disturb my business. All the time, and yet they keep calling. This company is desperate to tie you into a loan.

I went to their site just to see what interest rates were at that time. They REQUIRED my name, phone and email to be able to view rates. Before I could get off the site my phone began to ring constantly. They unleashed the hounds of hell on me. I had to turn off my phone for the remainder of the day. They need to add in their questioning whether or not you are truly interested in moving forward with a loan and release the rabid dogs on you only if you say "yes"!

Today, Nov 17 2025, I received a text message saying my Renters Insurance quote was attached and to call with questions from a legitimate State Farm agency in Jacksonville FL. Attached was a real PDF of the quote. I checked online to make sure the agency was real and called as well to have their agent call me about the quote that I received but never ever requested. I then looked at the quote and it was for an old address in the Jacksonville FL area that I have not lived at in over 15 YEARS! What is worse is I never even owned that home or rented it - it had been my ex-fiance's home where I lived for about 2 years.
The lovely State Farm agent called me back and said they got my information as a lead they purchased from QuoteWizard.com which is - no surprise - now owned by LendingTree! The agent said the website claimed it provided real leads filled out on their website for auto and home insurance quotes. I said I never filled out any information ever on QuoteWizard and the agent was shocked that I also had not been at the said address in many years.
As a licensed insurance agent myself and having to hold myself to high ethics, I find QuoteWizard and LendingTree despicable in having some sort of AI engine comb the internet for old addresses and blatantly sell those addresses as real requests for quotes when they are not. This is a major disservice to potential customers and agents/agencies alike. Why BBB is giving QuoteWizard and LendingTree an A+ rating when all the reviews on there are negative is beyond belief. There are numerous complaints on the BBB website about all 3 locations of QuoteWizard and for LendingTree. The BBB rating is 1.1 out of 5 stars and for LendingTree, the BBB rating is 1.0.
Complaints from consumers who did go on the website asking for a quote and then getting an overload of supposed insurance agents calling them to sell them insurance and basically being harassed. And complaints from agents/agencies who purchased leads from QuoteWizard/LendingTree and finding out like in my case that the lead is fake with old addresses, old phone and email addresses. Also, Agent and Agency complaints on not getting properly refunded for the fake leads as well. This sounds like Fraud, plain and simple. I recommend anyone here to file a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the internet scam complaint website ** on your experience.

The biggest mistake I have ever made was to request a home equity loan through Lending Tree. I was under the impression that I was requesting 3 different options to get an idea of a ballpark monthly payment. My phone has been ringing nonstop for 6 days now, and I have received over 250 phone calls and about as many text messages. What an absolute nightmare. I filed a formal request to stop all information sharing and place me on a do-not-call list on their website. This has not done a thing about the sheer volume of calls I am receiving. I am beyond frustrated!
