Lear Capital no longer answers their phone. Apparently they have been scamming their customers somehow. I've been trying to contact them through the numbers I have and they just hang up EVERY TIME. I would find another metals dealer just to be safe.

A while back when I started investing in gold, I went to Lear Capital and talked to the salesman. He recommended I purchase a bunch of numismatic coins that were way over priced. While bullion coins went way up, the coins that Lear recommended took 10 years to reach the price I paid for them. I would not purchase anything from Lear.

My experience with Lear Capital was not a good one. I did a partial liquidation of my Silver IRA and Lear purchased the Silver Bullion at about $78/Oz on a day that Silver closed at about $92/Oz. When I asked the account representative about the disparity, I was told something to the effect that the Silver wasn't worth that much. Over the next couple weeks Silver went above $110/Oz. Then to make matters worse, it took Lear 26 working days (36 calendar days) to wire the funds back to my Trust company.

The purchase using Lear Capital was straightforward. However, Lear Capital did not disclose the total amount, in percentage, I would be charged to purchase precious metals. In addition, I am trying to sell my assets that are in a precious metals IRA so I can transfer the money to another stock and bond IRA and Lear told me they are not accepting, or will not allow me to sell, my assets due to a back up in the industry. That statement makes zero sense that I cannot liquidate my account.
