If I could rate a 'zero' instead of a 'one' I would. Definitely not what I signed up for and can not get a straight answer. The 'legal' team dropped the ball and my bank account was garnished over $3,500. When I ask questions, I cannot get a straight response - I get transferred. The negotiator with A&S is rude and will not answer questions.

    It's been nearly 8 MONTHS since signing up with J.G. Wentworth, and they still haven't closed a large $20,000+ account I had them consolidate. No deals made. NO CALLS RETURNED! My credit score has gone down over 100 POINTS since allowing them into my lives. NO BUYING A HOUSE NOW! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH J. G. WENTWORTH. THEY ARE A SCAM! They take their fees and NEVER pay your creditors, meaning while you're racking up late fees, being sent hate mail from your creditor, and your score tanks as an added bonus.

    I called to cancel my debt with them today (to remove my UNSETTLED DEBTS with them), and I got the runaround, then finally the rep said it would take 10-15 business days for the "cancellation PROCESS," and then it would be "decided" if I was even eligible to "get a refund"! WHAT?! No, I want out NOW! I want someone (a manager of some sort with some sort of actual power) to call me back and fasttrack my cancellation of this unsettled debt you're NOT settling for me, and I'll do it on my own. If someone with actual power calls me back and resolves this issue, I'll gladly remove this review.

    I don’t have the ability to rate lower than one star or I would. In fact, JGW owes me a galaxy of stars for the mess they’ve created. If you like hearing lies, horrendous communication, and non-answers to direct question. JG Wentworth is for you! If you enjoy waiting three weeks for a callback that never comes, never being able to talk to a decision maker, and endless fees and charges. Sign up for their programs.

    Getting anyone competent on the phone is nearly impossible with 60+ min wait times. Getting a response to emails to support go unanswered. They will take their fee off the top first and then make payment on your account at staggering 25% of the debt owed. Calling the reps who answer can't get you off the phone fast enough. They'll debit you bank account lightning quick but getting anyone to assist a stop when you handle a debt by yourself to get it removed from auto pay, impossible. Get more staff and get it together.

    The time they take to settle your debts is extreme. I was harassed by phone calls from collectors, court dates, and then extreme interest rates on loan offered half way thru my program. Which I was pressured go to court or take their loan to get creditors off my back. Credit absolutely ruined. People with bankruptcy doing better than I am. Awful. 1000% do not recommend. When pushed on answers to problems long wait times or no answers at all. No help.

    They did not do as they promised they would when I signed up with them. Any extra money I have has been given to them to settle my debts but they've been paying it to themselves in fees. Over $2000 EXTRA was given to them to put towards the outstanding debt and they took all of that money for themselves refusing to put it towards our credit balance. This is the biggest scam!!

    The debt consolidation method they use doesn't work. I've gone through debt consolidation with OneMain years ago and they were much quicker, and settled with creditors within 6-9 months. I was supposed to get all accounts consolidated within 1 year or so, and it's been 1 year and they haven't finished two -- one of which I already dropped.

    Craziest part is, I removed 60% of my consolidation amount by removing an $11,000 loan, and they STILL were having me pay $333, even though one payment to a creditor was $81 and the only other loan I had was $1K, so I should have only been paying them $200 MAX for months. But billing doesn't help. I removed $11K, $5.5K remained and they still did not reduce my payment amount from the original $17K settlement agreement, which is insane to me.

    Also, I just had to ask them 8+ times on a call to remove the last loan, so I'll only owe them about $81/mo. They kept going in circles about how they're already talking to the creditor / how billing can look into the payment situation, blah blah blah. Same thing I've heard from them for months when I ask about the payment. They only finally listened when I yelled at them to just remove the last loan. VERY pushy and not very much help. And they don't listen to what their customers want without arguing. Also annoying that none of the customer service people are American.

    I was looking for a loan, then I was transferred to a company that worked with loans. But they couldn't help me out, so they transferred me to JG Wentworth because that was one of their partners. The guy who talked to me about the entire process of how it was going to work out was really good at explaining everything and he answered questions. That process was pretty good. Now I’m waiting for them to finish consolidating the debt with the creditors, which hasn't happened yet, making me a little nervous. I don’t know how long it usually takes but I called them just to make sure if I should pay and they said not yet because they were still working with my creditors. They told me to wait, then I should have it done.

    I started on the 15th of last month and I haven't seen a change every time I go to my dashboard. But I'm choosing to have a little bit of faith in that it will get results soon, so it doesn't cause me any problems. Right now, I wouldn't tell anybody anything about JG Wentworth until everything is resolved. But if everything gets resolved, I would tell them that JG Wentworth is legit and they helped me out with my debt of a considerable amount.

    My experience with JG Wentworth was fine. I worked with Jeff and he gave me the information I needed. I had some discrepancy with one of the other agents. They sent me on a different route when we were trying to get our checking account, making sure that it was on track, which we did get on track. She was talking about needing to clear checks, but I didn't have to do that. I just requested Jeff, and it was a very easy process. I'm just getting started. I’m supposed to call my creditors and let them know. They gave me a statement to inform my creditors about what's going on in a certain specific way. Hadn't had a chance to do that yet. But so far, so good. I would recommend them to a friend.

    If people need it, it is a good thing to go through, because it eliminates the interest, even though it's a 25% cost. Their interest is extremely high, and they made it legal in that aspect. But it's not fair for me to have to pay for that situation. For example, I paid Chase off. They gave me credit of 4,000, and I bought that in an emergency attempt to take care of some business with my house. But, after I paid it off, they became even more aggressive in interest fees. One time, I paid 300, and the balance was 100. Then they charged me a high interest rate of 80-something dollars, and then a fee on top of that. So, I have a problem with that.

    If I could put a Zero I would. These People all they do is Take your money, all the Reviews you seeing are Friends & Family Reviews. If you want to see the correct Reviews go to BBB. You will see the Real Reviews. They took over $600 from me. The Bill Collectors & JG WENTWORTH was calling me for more & more $$$. The CS don't know what they doing & give you wrong info. I started with them in Aug 2025. I asked for my payments to come out on Thur/Fri. My payments were coming out on Mon, Tue, Wed when they choose to take it out, causing my acct to OverDraft.

    Later I was told I had to make payments thru Global Holding LLC, which made me have to pay more than what they quoted, but I was never told this info. I was told it was my fault payments where Later, but after talking to Jessica at Global Holding, she state JG Wentworth drop the ball not getting me the docs in time. Therefore my acct Closed because of them, but they were blaming me. They stating taking payments again Global Holding, but after talking to JG Wentworth, they stated they weren't getting them. Than CS Tiffany told me my acct was closed again & she seen No payment collected. But my bank acct said different showing payments came out Jan 12/Feb 5th and a payment pending on Feb 9th, which I put a STOP PAYMENT on since Tiffany stated my acct was Cancelled & she seen No Payment come out period. Therefore I Cancel the whole contractor.

    It's stressful Bill Collectors calling & JG Wentworth calling weekly for more $$$. I contact Global Holding regarding my Refund, she stated they were going to Refund my 2-payments back, but it showed JG Wentworth took it. From Aug 2025 to Feb 2026, they Did Nothing At All but caused me Stress, Headache & Pain coming from an Unemployed Senior Citizen. These People do not need to be in business.
