Barclays Bank opened a card in my 93 year old father's name that was shut down close to 2 years before when the card was held by Goldman Sacs. So they fraudulently opened this card and accepted a reoccurring charge that was on his previous account that was shut down. They occurred fees that amounted to $270 on an account that was never opened. After spending over 8 hours on the phone with these absolute liars and in good faith paid the reoccurring charge of $59.99 they reneged on their promise to waive all the late fees and interest. These people are bottom feeders and they take pleasure in taking advantage of a Korean War Veteran. I only wish there was a lower rating than 1 because they would get it.
I talked to these people for over 8 hours and the last manager I talked with told me that they couldn't talk to me anymore because I was only the power of attorney for my father and when I asked why they told me the account was closed and when we went in to make the payment just to get this done we found out the card is still active when they told us it was shut down. I'm thinking it's time to get a lawyer involved.

AARP Offers a Barclays Bank high interest savings account. I submitted and application and received the worst customer service ever experienced. Barclay requested verification of proof of ID. Drivers License, bank statement and IRS 1040 copy. All was sent as requested to show proof of ID. Barclays Bank personnel kept nick picking the documents submitted. IRS 1040 year was wrong, Copy of bank statement was intercepted as a screen print was incorrect. Barclays uses a customer service center in a location where reps fail to speak clearly English. These reps kept specifying to return responses in 5 business days. Barclays failed many times to meet this comment. The application process was in process for 29 days. After instilling a high level or mistrust and very poor level of customer service, I canceled the application. Barclays proved to be Untrustworthy and very difficult to work with.

Barclays is an absolute NIGHTMARE to deal with for the most minor inconveniences such as assistance obtaining username information. I got my mother a new phone for Mother’s Day and she couldn’t not recall her username, and she called several different numbers just to be told to call a different number. Unsure if it was largely due to a language/culture barrier.
Enough though she speaks English, but when I visited and saw this, I had to intervene and asked for assistance since after 7 calls and then asked for at least a soft transfer to these various departments they kept throwing us to and best I got was a blind transfer to a man named Kyle that told us he fixed the security issue which it did not reflect on the phone and that after all that work we had to call customer service on the back of the card and start over. It should be simple, but if you’re not tech savvy or an older adult, you’re screwed. I hope those calls are all recorded and actually used for training purposes to attended to a large portion of their clientele which in fact are older adults. Absolutely horrendous

The worst bank I have seen. I disputed a transaction that has been made on my account at a gas station, they waived the amount and then later they reversed the transaction back claiming that I have made this transaction, even no signature on the receipt but they still reversed back, this is not the first time. This is the second time and they did the same.

I HATE Barclays. I, too, have a fraud case. I have called Barclays so many times, I can't count them. They give me the runaround EVERY time. They are an impossible company to talk to. I, too, would give them a ZERO rating if I could. I can't believe ANYONE would use them for ANY reason. Get rid of them before they screw you. What the h do people have them for. They don't help you if you have a problem. I hope they go broke.

Barclay closed my dispute without fully investigating the case. The company I have the dispute with even said they were wrong and I should be refunded!! I now have to mail the dispute department with screenshots of emails and phone calls for them to reopen my case. I’ll think twice about using this card for anything but travel from now on. I expected better customer service.

I have had a fraud charge on this card that customer service will not handle properly. They told me they closed my account for me and it’s still open. I am very unhappy with this card and the service.

I have been a customer of Barclays for over 10 years, I have never had a late payment with them, ever, I have paid off my card multiple times over the course of the business relationship, but as of currently have fallen on hard times and have maxed out my credit card, but have always continued to make the minimum payment and have never fallen behind. I woke up this morning to see that they closed out my account. I am currently in the process of reestablishing my credit and getting back on my feet and now closing down this account that I have the longest business relationship with is going to be detrimental. Their excuse is because they re-ran my credit report and I have high debt income. I will never, ever consider doing business with them again, and I caution anyone to put faith or finances in such a terrible and heartless company.

If no stars were an option, I would give zero. Worst customer service ever. Have a business account, ordered a card for a new employee and it been a month and I still don't have it. First one was sent to an incorrect address but they won't tell me where. Second and third ones were sent via Fedex. Fedex didn't deliver and they will not provide a tracking number but they won't tell you the tracking number. So you can't call Fedex to find out why they won't deliver. If you have other card options, run as fast as you can from Barclays!! I am a month in and still do not have a card, makes it hard for my employee to fuel his company vehicle.

Worse company ever. I applied for the Breeze Easy Airline credit card for the discount on my airline ticket. I used my PIN number for a cash advance and then the Fraud department demanded that I fax them my bank statements, front and back of my driver's license, front and back of my social security card. I had to fax it 3 times because they would say they couldn't read my license then it was the social security card. I ended up mailing and faxing documents that are supposed to be kept under lock and key. I have a credit freeze so I do not know how they issued me a credit card to begin with. I paid off the cash advance the very next day.
