Zero stars. I canceled my subscription, sent back all the equipment. I was told by the FedEx worker keep the tracking because a lot of customers has been complaining HughesNet is going to say that they didn’t receive all the equipment back. The FedEx worker were correct. That what was told to me. Never again. Poor customer service. All about the money.

I am 80 years old. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Daughter was out of town when I called because it was not working. Grandson came up and help me pay the bills and missed it. There was no paper bill, no email. How the know when and how much to pay. Their loss. Several neighbors have ask about the dish, I simply tell them I would not recommend it.

I would never recommend HughesNet internet or phone services to anyone. We have had these services for one year And have called many times due to our internet buffering AND trouble with phone service ever since we signed up a year ago! We are paying $395.00 to get out of our contract!! If you are thinking about going with HughesNet, think again!!

I would rate Hughes at the lowest possible rating. Off shore customer service was difficult to understand, and there was no explanation for the increase of approX. $30. 00 from last month's bill. After at least 30 minutes with a rep...who was difficult to understand... still had no answers. I would rate Hughes Net at the lowest possible score. Would never recommend the service to any user. No explanation was given for the $30.00 increase in my monthly bill-with the rep simply reading charges off the bill. That is not an explanation. Do not ever use this provider. I would NEVER recommend this service to any user.

Hughes Net is big scam company. Tried cancel service after having it for over 13 years and they won’t let you. It was all available in my rural area at time got this service. It has gone downhill fast. Never really worked to use internet and could never stream tv with it. Most time husband couldn’t use it for work phone connection. We paid $80 a month with often added charges that we have to file complaint about to get resolved as customer service is not helpful or does it exist.
We discontinued service 4/3/26 after having enough of the entire situation and no internet for the $80 ever month. We paid each month on time. They now are trying to charge extra $67 and threats of charges for equipment and for canceling service. They been told they are welcome to make appointment to get equipment by email, complaint and written letters. Basically they are scam making it difficult to stop service once started as we never signed contract and it been over two years as I have read other complaints so we are definitely not canceling early. It has been reported to customer service on lack of service either. Lots of evidence to support our claim. Don’t use this company. Not worth the hassle.

I live in Granville County in NC. HughesNet was one of the only available services here when I moved here. In that time, the service has only gone downhill. The speeds are unreliable and inconsistent. Just this morning, I was trying to download a game to my phone, and the time for this was an hour and a half. In 2026 and hour and a half for a darn download. Unbelievable. When I called technical support, I spoke with a rep I could barely understand. Having them tell me that everything was all good on their end. I have been repeatedly calling since I ordered the service in 2022 because it never really worked correctly and I have download speeds of 3.5 Mbps.
They are only required to give me 25Mbps because it was the package I could afford. Now they have upgraded all of their equipment and will not update their existing customers. We have to spend up near $300 to upgrade to their new equipment and sign a new 24-month commitment or stay with the crappy service we have now.
My thing is that the service was crappy before they upgraded, and now they want me to pay more money for the same kind of promise. Pretty sad. As a long-time customer, they offer no new deals and still want you to sign up for a 24-month contract even though you've been a customer for 4 years already. They don't care about how well our service works, only about the money we pay them for the crap service. I'm switching to Starlink. Reviews say it's much better and portable.

By far the worst ever, charge full price when you do a voluntary suspension, (service was at lake house and turned off during off season) dealt with it for 6 months, finally fed up with it, then they want to hit you with a cancellation fee of over 300 bucks and then charge a fee to get the eye out of their satellite dish that they installed over 20 feet in the air. I made a reasonable offer. I would cancel service and they not charge me a cancellation fee for all the issues they have given me over the past 6 months. They are never in the wrong and their way is the only way. They are nothing but a money hungry company that makes big promised and will not keep them. DO NOT go with HughesNet, bigger scam than a pyramid scheme. Customer service will tell you one thing but do an entirely different thing.

Hughesnet are the worst. First they deceive you into a low price that increases immediately. Second the internet sucks big time. Buffering constantly. I’m alone and watch YouTube videos. That’s it. And I can’t even do that with over $70 a month. CSR are out of the country and threatening to take $300 for cancellation early when I couldn’t even use the internet with them.

I'm stuck with this extremely low speed, spotty crappy service for 2 years and I'm pissed off about it and if you want to back out of the contract that they don't have to honor you have to pay $400 or $500 to do it. I want to start a class action lawsuit against these criminals. Whatever you do, don't get their service, you will regret it!!!

This is a terrible service for the price. The service speeds are slow, only works if it is sunny outside. When there’s something wrong with their equipment, you get billed for a tech to come out and fix it, not to mention if you decide to go with a different company you are locked into a contract that is outrageously priced to get out of so at the end of the day, you were ultimately stuck with a less than good or even remotely reasonable service. I wouldn’t even give this a single star for the amount that you pay a month. You would think that one, the service would be better and two, their customer service would be better.

Sunday - try to get service working, finally call HughesNet, spend over an hour hearing how sorry they are that my service isn't working, but, don't worry, they're working on it. Monday - SAME EXACT THING. Tuesday - I didn't have it in me to go round with them. Wednesday - again, over an hour, 2 technicians, unplug, plug in, send/read codes, describe lights on modem - on and on and on. Still no service. But, hey, they're so sorry! FINALLY, someone is coming out tomorrow - so they say - and MAYBE they will get my devices connected, but I'm not betting on it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I live in Western Washington. We signed up with HughesNet for internet and phone. Our reception on the phone and internet connection are unacceptable. I called customer service and was told we would have to resolve the issues over the phone. I spent well over an hour with the tech trying different things. When we finished, there was a slight improvement, but still unacceptable. I was told by HughesNet that part of the problem was the rain. It rains a lot in W Washington. I wanted to cancel but was threatened with a $450 cancel fee. So I agreed to try again with tech support, who I had call me back on my HughesNet line. He said we couldn't do the call today, as it was raining in parts of the coverage area, so things are not working well enough to trouble shoot!
We are not happy. I guess if you live in a place where it doesn't rain you will possibly have good connectivity. So if you want poor service and no way to move on without paying a $450 fee (or you pay your $116 a month bill for bad service for 24 months,) this might be the company for you. If you want a chance for good service( and probably for less $) look elsewhere. I am still amazed that they keep telling me their internet is not good when it rains Avoid HughesNet!

Terrible. First of all, the quality and speed is 2nd to dialup and way over priced. Also, it is common practice for this company to offer you a visa gift card for signing up. They do not give you the gift card. They stall around and tell you your pictures aren't good enough and that your account number is wrong and eventually they tell you that you have exceeded the deadline four requesting the visa. They also refused to answer the attorney generals letter. I am in Minnesota and am going to file a lawsuit for my $100 visa card. If anyone else cares to join please let me know. This is dirty business. Here in Minnesota, we do not allow internet companies to come in and get away with false advertising and below average products. Also, they accessed and charged my card without permission! When I confronted them they immediately returned the funds, but what kind of business practice is this.

I wish I could give no star. HughesNet is the WORST internet company I’ve ever experienced. My first week of having the service my family complained everyday about how slow the internet was. I called them the following week and they sent someone out to “adjust the satellite”, well that didn’t work. After another week or so I was completely over it and called to cancel my service with them. After speaking to someone about canceling they said it would be $400 to cancel. They made me hold for near an hour hoping I would hang up after requesting a supervisor.
A supervisor never came to the phone, they told me they can take $100 off the cancellation fee. During my very first phone call about services & plans there was no mention of a cancellation fee, especially for $400 or else I wouldn’t have never agreed. After finally getting it canceled they told me that I had to remove all equipment on my own and send it back or it would be $100 fee to send a technician out to remove it. This company needs to be shut down. They are horrible and they are the worst service I have ever had for Internet.

Also the customer service guy said why did you leave the other internet service in the first place. I said it was my right to have different choices versus no other options. We got internet installed in 2023 during that time we hardly had service and we decided to stick it out because the guy we signed up service with said there would be a 200 dollar cancellation service charge if early 12 month termination fee, however; the fine print says that if you ever cancel you still have to pay the disconnection charge. THIS INTERNET SERVICE is a SCAMMMM.
I called the lady in accounts management, she didn't want to lose my service and kept insisting I stay until I got so frustrated that I started using profanity and then she said if I continued she would hang up. I let her know since she was being stubborn and if she continued being stubborn I would continue with the profanity. I read a review about them charging them 700 or so in collections for equipment. I will lose my ***** if that comes up with me. Anywho, please review my review and do yourself a favor, don't get this service, try something else first!
