JUNK! RACKS RUSTED IN A YEAR! Never did this happen to any other dishwasher I have owned!
Reviewed April 30, 2026
We had a new LG dishwasher installed in June of of 2022. It’s not even four years old and is only used for six months of the year so basically it’s two years old, and the control board has already failed me. Of course, the parts that are under warranty don’t fail. But the control board is only covered by a parts warranty, not labor.

LG dishwasher model #LDF7551ST. 13 years later and the dishwasher is still holding up great even after running it every 2 days. I cannot recall anything that has ever gone wrong with this unit. I thoroughly rinse my dishes and always run the Quick and Dry cycle with Cascade Complete soap pods. Filter is generally clean and I rinse it off monthly. Replaced this unit with another LG (model #LDNTH753S) because we’ve been so impressed with the first one. The original one was moved into a rental unit when the Whirlpool dishwasher stopped working.

We bought the whole set, fridge, stove, dishwasher, over range microwave. To be honest, they're all garbage. Thought I would get what I paid for, this is not the case. Refrigerator went down after 4 years, dishwasher rebuilt pump twice, and now fully broken. Not worth fixing.

This is a correction to an earlier review I left about my LG dishwasher. The problem that I thought was solved (dishwasher would not complete cycle before shutting itself off) was not due to the selected wash setting. What I have learned now after trial and error is that a small rubber protrusion on the upper rack MUST lock in place with a small opening on the back of the dishwasher for the cycle to complete itself.
I don't know why it isn't an easy task to always do that properly. Sometimes it will depend on at what level the rack is positioned in. It isn't by any stretch of the imagination an easy thing to get it right every time, and sometimes it will take a lot of jiggling and manipulating, but at least I know now when it is done properly the cycle will complete itself and the dishes will be clean as a whistle... and then I can honestly say that I really like this dishwasher's good end results.

Many things to like about the LG dishwasher that I bought in January 2024, but other things about it not so good. Pluses are the quiet operation and the good success with cleaning the dried or baked on/burned on residue from dishes and pans. The problem that doesn't seem to have a resolution is this: the AUTO cleaning cycle and the 1-hour option will run only the first part of cycle and then the door releases. It leaves murky water in bottom of tub that has to be drained out (thankfully this can be done by using a 3-second hold on the start button, that fortunately automatically triggers the function to drain the water).
Costco, where I bought the dishwasher, was not supportive when we called to report the problem. I can live with it and hope that the NORMAL setting, which is the only one I can use, will continue to function as it's supposed to. I'm disappointed in this dishwasher. I chose it because of the good performance of my LG washer, dryer and refrigerator, assuming the brand name would carry through on this appliance as well. It seems it did not.

I can't believe this dishwasher. There are so many buttons. It seems like you have to have your college degree in LG just to figure it out, it's a brand new dishwasher and it's already giving me error codes, not to mention it takes 3 hours to wash one load. Can you imagine if you were an actual dishwasher at a restaurant and it took you 3 hours just to wash one load you'd be fired for sure. Come on LG.This is ridiculous.

Bought mine with the top tray about 4 months ago, top tray is worthless, can't fit any tray. The instructions says "don't need to rinse" even when I rinse, dishes come out dirty. Have tried different settings and none does the job which is clean! It's loud and takes more than 2 hours to complete a cycle.

Our Quad Wash dishwasher seal failed entirely after only 2 and 1/2 yrs of daily use. The rubber was completely shredded at the bottom on both sides, leading to leaking which damaged the cabinets and the floor, and the warranty only covers 1 yr. It cost us $366 CDN to have repaired. I watched the technician install the new gasket and it would have been an easy job. I would just buy the part if it goes on you, and install it yourself. I would suggest checking the bottom of the gasket just before 1yr of use, and if starting to show signs of wear get it replaced before the warranty expires. Watch how they do it, then you are ready for next time.

I bought 6 new LG appliances. They are nice to look at & very expensive, which I thought meant quality. The "steel" on the outside, dents very easily & the inside steel of the refrigerator & microwave scratch from a ceramic or glass plate. I'm extremely cautious with my items & take excellent care of them. I live alone & do not have kids or pets over. I'm home only 2 weeks a month. This should not be happening with anything new & high quality. Also, the expensive dishwasher doesn't even clean your dishes or glasses on the hottest cycle, that is 4 hours long! Yes, you read that correctly. I wipe them off with a paper towel & load them in, no prerinsing as instructed (Tried that too). You must first run hot water in your sink faucet to get hot water to it. That is in the manual! I only drink ice water, so the glasses are not even dirty. So, it doesn't clean them with hot water, Cascade Platinum Plus & Jet-Dri.
I've had service people out. Customer service is overseas & is a total joke. They pass you from agent to agent, having to explain things over & over for HOURS & DAYS, hoping you will get tired & hang up. That went on for months. You ask to speak to manager & they tell you they are busy or that they are the manager. There is no recourse. LG needs to get their act together. It took A YEAR of repeated calling overseas. I was finally helped after speaking to a "Presidential Level Rep" in the US. She was great & handled the issues swiftly. My biggest mistake was buying their products. I needed a new tv as well but I will not buy another LG product because of all I went through. I bought the items from Home Depot.

LDTH5554S AE error code, service tech said no leak but water is in tray raising float to shut off cycle and flash AE code until circuit breaker is flipped off. So, water is leaving the tub someplace. Second service call placed. Very frustrating. It looks nice, though.
