Very unhappy with our storage unit. As soon as we can find another storage unit will be moving out of this one North Division 7028. This storage unit have people pulled outside their storage unit in the gate sleeping in their vehicles and then there are people hogging the lane so you can't even get around in a U-Haul. This happened the first three days I went there. Haven't been back there since and another thing is when we were moving in there was an older man checking my younger daughter and whistling. I'm guessing this unit storage unit don't have anybody. There are two supervise the grounds. I would not recommend this if you want to see people hanging out there all day and sleeping in their vehicle setting up camp. For the price you pay it's not worth it.

Hitch installation - missing parts, failed to re-assemble, unexplained damage and told that a family emergency led to a unqualified employee finishing the work without being told. I paid U-Haul to install a hitch with wiring on my vehicle. When I picked up my car, everything looked fine. But later, I noticed the rear bumper was misaligned on the passenger side and something was hanging loose underneath.
• Parts were beginning to fall down while I was driving on the highway
The runaround: I contacted U-Haul when this happened (about 60 miles from home) and advised I needed a tow truck, but that was not provided. I temporarily reattached and secured what I could and contacted corporate when no one called me back days later. What they told me: The general manager eventually apologized and explained that the technician had a family emergency and left early on installation day. A customer service rep (CSR) finished the job instead. This was over a month prior, and no one ever told me about this problem.
Where things stand now: I bought replacement parts myself and had them reinstalled by U-Haul, however afterward I got conflicting statements and a lack of accountability, despite their initial admission of fault. I've billed U-Haul for the time, mileage, and the parts I purchased while also documenting the issues, calls, replacement parts and emails. My future trust in this company will depend on how they respond and I'll update this review if possible.

We had our belongings in U-Haul storage in Montgomery Illinois. Although we left a lot behind I looked through my things thoroughly. Not blaming anyone but it's a lot I noticed was missing. My wife and her family was at our storage with us and it could have been them that threw things away or took things that they shouldn't have. I don't know, but I do know a lot was taken. Thousands of dollars worth of Merchandise and clothing was stolen. It could have very well been U-Haul employees that wipe us out.
It's hard to part ways with things you love and like. I really wish I knew who was responsible for ripping me off or throwing my thing out because I would most definitely report them fast. My wife and her family were incompetent enough to leave a lot of important personal paperwork behind in the U-Haul trash area as well and I hope and pray it doesn't come back to hunt us because personal information should never ever be shared. To U-Haul's advantage they did help me settle my debt and allowed me to get my possessions.

What a scam. My parents storage units. I believe the place is called Midgaurd in Brighton. What a rip off. They have raised the price of the unit, three times. Also mice have gotten into one of their units.

This is for the Kingston, PA U-haul location. I took my car there to have a hitch installed and a bike rack that mounts on the hitch. First of all, I had a someone look over my car prior to going and then afterwards. I took my car for the appt and there was absolutely nothing wrong until they took my car inside their facility to do the work. When the guy brought my car out and I went out and inspected my car and found where he hit the driver side lower part of the door, he tells me if he did it he would have said something. I then asked him then explain how it got there when it was not there when I pulled in, he comes off with you probably got hit with a rock. If my car got hit with a rock, I surely would have heard it and second of all how when I was driving down Rte11 10 minutes from my home.
Contacted corporate, got the run around then everything went thru there insurance claim RepWest. They wanted my pictures of damage but I was not allowed to see their video since my car was inside of their facility but if I was renting a storage unit that's different. How can that be right and fair, all one sided. They denied my claim even with witness that seen my car prior and afterwards. I went for 2 estimates and both places said it looks like either they hit my door on the ramp or carrying the hitch or bike rack hitch mount "L" deep marks down to the metal. Now I'm stuck with a $825 bill to fix my car due to their negligence and denial. Stay way from them if getting anything like this done. Worst experience ever and ignorant as well, lie, deny and excuses.

I do not like the fact that they literally give you 3 days to pay before they start harrassing you blowing up your phone like you’re 30 days late and then they send a letter to whoever your reference is on file. It’s not just a reference it’s a way to embarrass and make people think you’re far behind when they only give you 3 days. I had to block their number because they called repeatedly every day. I do believe the storage units are overpriced.

My entire U-Box experience and move has been marred by the organizational incompetence of U-Haul and a lack of accountability between departments. I made a move to NC from Upstate NY to start my first position in my career. The expected shipment date was 8-9 with movers hired for the 10th. I called on both the 7th and 8th to speak to separate associates to confirm that indeed my shipment was on the way, and they both said yes. I get notification the day it was to arrive that it had, in fact, not even left NY. The associate in charge of my case only communicated by sporadic text and without my consent shifted my movers to the 17th, when I would be already working.
Calling to change this that Friday, I was made to pay 135$ more for new movers, but the associate instead charged me for a “self-delivery”. Calling back again, I rebooked (and was charged again) movers for Sunday the 13th. These movers did not show up because while my reservation said 8/13, they were notified that it was 8/22. After another charge (my move bill was originally $1500 but due to their errors I have charges in excess of $2200), I finally got my possessions today the following Monday. I have spent hours each day for the last 6 days on hold with customer service, and have been caught in a cycle of transferring between the same departments with no one offering guidance. I have filled out a number of “action reports” in that time, and have not received any contact. Avoid their services at all costs. You will literally pay for their mistakes and incompetence.

I rented a storage unit in Anchorage AK on Old Seward Hwy. and the hours reported on the app where I signed up reflected a later time (10pm) than I was granted to utilize the storage unit (7pm). When I arrived with my entire contents of my apartment at 6:00pm, I was informed that the manager wanted to leave at 7pm and that I needed to be out of the building by then. I scrambled to meet this crazy time change but when I was wrapping up my move (without any help from anyone) at about 7:20pm, the manager got in my face and told me he would have me removed for trespassing for keeping him and his employees there later than the time allotted. I was beside myself with confusion and fear.
I left and immediately called the UHaul corporate office to report this and my claims were supported by the staff there so the general manager refunded my month's rent and I promised I would move my things once I returned from a trip that would have me away for about a month. I was refunded for that month and when I got back in town I went to take my things out of this location and there was a second lock on my unit. The general manager was no longer there and they wanted to reverse the resolution.
I called the corporate office again and they had this location remove the lock so I could get my belongings. They proceeded to send me collection notices to collect a month rent on the storage that they previously refunded. I have moved out of there months ago and they continue to send these notices with threats of collection against me. This manager continues to work there despite the complaints I've made to their corporate office. I have since reported this to my State's attorney general who has begun to investigate this.
The gist is that UHaul supports this behavior by keeping this manager there and allows him to continue to harass me with these ridiculous collections letters. He is an agent of theirs therefore they have threatened me and continue to harass me for literally no reason except that I complained. I will continue to complain about this hostile and unfair treatment of commercial businesses that need to recognize that they need to train their employees better or it will affect their success. I had been a long-time customer with Uhaul and had spent thousands on truck and equipment rentals, on many other occasions, but never again.

I am an experienced mover - because of my job I move a lot. I have NEVER had such horrible moving experienced. U-Haul is extremely incompetent. Very rude customer service, extremely long wait on the phone to get anyone to speak with you - and I mean OVER ONE HOUR OF WAIT ON THE PHONE, only to get a very rude dismissive customer rep. They booked us with moving helpers with companies that are no longer in business THREE times.
When using their pods they were FIVE HOURS LATE to drop off, and wanted to pick up almost 12 hours after they were supposed to. When dropping off the pods to be loaded they insisted on dropping off each of the 4 pods one at a time which made are moving process extremely long, and this is by yet one more incompetent mover they recommended. We have requested a refund for the movers they charged us for which date not even in business anymore. Let’s see if we ever get the refund. Save your yourself the headache and DO NOT USE U-HAUL. I can’t believe they are still in business.

First, if you aren't fluent in Spanish, don't even bother. They'll treat you like a second-class citizen. Secondly, any agreement you make with them, such as I'll pay the balance due by May 1st, 2023. Make sure you get it in writing. If not, they will deny it ever happened, sell your belongings at auction, then come after you for the remaining balance of the rent owed.
For example: if you owe $300 in back rent, and you don't pay by May 1st as agreed upon, they'll call you Saturday, April 29th to say you have to pay by Monday, May 1st, or it'll go to auction. But, if you call them Monday morning to make payment, they'll tell you that you're too late, they've had the auction and sold your stuff. Even if they made $100 at the auction, they'll harass you for the other $200, and whatever other fees they can throw in there... It doesn't matter if you're disabled, a Senior Citizen on a fixed income, or both; they'll be after your money.
