I’ve been a loyal customer of GNC for a while, so this experience was really disappointing. I ordered several supplements online and trusted that the products being shipped would have a reasonable shelf life left. Unfortunately, after opening the products, I noticed that the expiration dates were only about 4 months from the shipment date. For supplements and health products, expiration dates matter. Customers should not have to inspect every bottle immediately after delivery just to make sure they weren’t sent near-expired inventory. What made the situation worse was customer service refusing to replace the products or offer any reasonable resolution.
I understand products can legally still be sold before expiration, but sending items with such a short remaining shelf life without clearly disclosing it feels misleading and unfair to customers. Very disappointed with both the product quality control and the lack of customer support. I’ll definitely think twice before ordering from GNC again.

I attended GNC twice today at the same location, and both times I experienced phenomenal customer service. In both instances, I was treated with the utmost respect, and I received several excellent recommendations without feeling insecure about my knowledge. Ordered 2 whey protein fruity pebbles. And cocoa pebbles 4/7/26. A week later called GNC to cancel delivery.. Gave me a 10% coupon for next visit in store and told me they cancelled my order which was not sent out yet. Never received product until 4/30/26. Never cancelled product. Charged for product received.

I visited a GNC in Galax, VA and experienced exceptional service from the store manager, Arial. She was highly professional and very friendly. I travel quite a bit for work and often stop which ever local GNC that's convenient. Arial could work at any GNC nationally and would do very well. Thank you, Arial.

For first time I bought a product I was thinking it cost $19.99 but wasn't like that is cost over $40.00 more. I told the cashier the price I saw, he didn't check either say what kind the product was at $19.99 was a multi-collegen protein $60 is too hight; I could buy in Walmart cost less. This place is too expensive. The guy didn't gave me a receipt.

I received the notification my 2 items were shipping, but I only received 1. When I called they confirmed they only shipped the 1, but would either refund or ship the other. I am not crazy. This really happened. Lucky I used their chatroom and had a copy of the conversation with the rep. She told me my account was "flagged" because I was a new user, all she could do was try to get the missing product shipped. After 45 minutes in the chat and no resolution I told her I no longer wanted the product and work order elsewhere, remember they told me I wasn't going to get either. So I filed a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General office, I have handed over the chatroom transcript approving my product was never shipped and they would not be giving me a refund or shipping out the product I never received.
Thank God for Paypal, I opened a complaint with them, sent them the transcript and my money was refunded to my account in 4 hours. Since this incident I have never heard anything from GNC, I will never order or go to their store again in our town... The CSR I spoke with was professional and continued to apologize, but it was out of her hands... She was the only positive experience I had.

Updated on 05/15/2026: After numerous complaint for refund, filling complaint to ConsumerAffairs, got answer from consumer department that GNC will refund the money, still GNC is not refunding any money until now.
Original review: As on 02/02/2026 we went to store in Jupiter, Florida to purchase some GNC brand vitamins, but store doesn't have that time, so store order for us, but when bottle arrived one of the bottle has expiry date on 02/2026. When we put to GNC attention, GNC is not refunding full amount which is $19.99+ tax. Today is 4th March but still issue unresolved.

We have used GNC products for years as we have a house full of sons who are athletes. My high school son decided in his business class to reach out to the company and tell them how much he appreciated their brand and business. I ordered four boxes of Barebells protein bars from the online store. One was initially canceled and my package went missing. There was not an area for instructions. I asked for a one time exception for a new customer but they refused. I guess they don't want repeat customers.

Ordered Oxyshred online and they sent me an expired one. I went to 1 location to return it Totowa NJ who stated they are a franchise not a corporate location and to visit another location. I went to the 2nd location Clifton NJ for them to tell me they do not take expired products back in store and needed to call customer service. I called customer service, (which I was told by the customer service rep. that is could be returned in store). However I then submitted my proof and still need to wait to mail the item back and another 5 days after to get a refund. Horrible service for their own mistake and as a major chain returns should not be this difficult! I will never order/buy from GNC again due to this experience, stick to Vitamin Shoppe!!

Do not order products from GNC.com.! As a long-time Pro Member who has spent thousands of dollars annually, I expected better treatment of loyal customers. Unfortunately, incomplete orders are consistently made the customer’s problem to resolve. While ordering online should be more convenient than driving 30 minutes to the nearest GNC store, my experience has been the opposite. Customer service was disappointing, the representative and supervisor (JOY) were unprofessional, frequently speaking over me instead of listening. Their communication skills were poor and in need of serious training or corrective training. If I'm taking time out of my busy workday to call, it's because this wasn't right and I wanted it right. Shipping box was intact, but two opened protein bar boxes with missing bars inside. After this experience, I will not be ordering from GNC.com again.

I bought GNC brand vitamins and they arrived defective, the capsules/tablets were damaged and clearly not safe to take. I contacted GNC expecting a simple replacement, but their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. They refused to take responsibility or replace the product, even though it was clearly an issue with quality. I’ve been a loyal customer, so this experience was extremely frustrating. When a health product arrives defective, the company should stand behind it, not make the customer feel ignored.

Received my order damaged, put 5 cases of energy drink in a box and probably 5 rolls of tape. They wanted me to return it to their store. Why? I got it delivered so didn't have to go to store. Back to vitamin shop. Second time with GNC and FedEx damaged goods no more

Went to my local store in Greece NY last week. I left without buying anything because the clerk wasn’t able to use the register to help the customer in front of me. I returned a few days later in the middle of the day, but the store was closed. I returned again today. The clerk confirmed they were closed due to lack of staff. When he rang up my purchase he said he needed my phone number. I politely refused. He said the new point of sale system won’t allow the to ring things up without my phone number because that’s how it tracks receipts. Guess I won’t be going back!

I ordered two bottles of the same product online with the understanding I could return the product if I was not 100% satisfied to a GNC store. When attempting to return to the store they stated they would not accept the product because they did not carry it in store. I was advised to call customer service to see what my options were. After talking to the first customer service representative she stated I would receive a return label in 24-48 hours due to the store not accepting the product.
The following day I received an email stating they would not provide the return label due to the reason for the return being I was unsatisfied with the product. I once again contacted customer service with the rep stating they would only accept the unopened product; however, I would have to pay return shipping. With the rate of shipping it is pointless to return the product. When asked why they post on their website products can be retuned in store as well as opened if the customer is not satisfied the customer service rep once again stated my only option was to pay for shipping if I wanted to return it. The return policy is very misleading and I will never purchase from GNC again. Customer service is VERY poor and their return policy is not accurate at all!!!

GNC had zero customer service. It seems the agents may be from overseas. They don’t help. I had an opened package of protein. It wasn’t easy to contact them, I was supposed to get a refund but instead they sent a replacement, which I didn’t want. I kept just because dealing with them is very time consuming and stressful. The next issue was regarding points, because I have 2 items on a subscription..and was told I had 4650 in points when I made the call regarding the above issue. I contacted customer service to find out how I can use these, because I was originally told if I called the week my subscription was due to come they could apply them. This current agent told me points can’t be used on a subscription. So I asked how can I use them and how many do I have.
GNC agent said they will escalate the issue, they have a team. They can find out how they were used. And within 24 hours I’ll be contacted by email. Well that ever happened!
I had to send them an email, which was very detailed. The response was really frustrating! It didn’t address the missing points, but only told me that I have 588 equaling $15. A total joke. So my 5100 points are missing. They didn’t address any issue of how the points could be used by someone else or try and be helpful in any way. On top of that we are very loyal customers who spend a lot of money there. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Glitchy website continues to cancel my order. Representatives and supervisor have no real answers for why this is happening and have no solution so I can get my product. Representatives are argumentative and have little knowledge. Supervisor was condescending and dismissive. Very upsetting experience.

I placed an order online for Whey Protein on 8/22 and as a member I was told I would get free shipping and should expect my order in two days. It has been two weeks. Tracking shows my order originated in Corpus Christi where s label was printed on 8/23. Seven days later it was in Dallas, then Chicago where it has been thru 9/5. It has been two weeks and still no delivery. I live in Topeka so I went to our local store to purchase the product where they are out of stock. I happened to be in Kansas City on 9/4 and bought the product. We used it on 9/5 and the product seems to have changed. It won't mix well in a shaker bottle with chewy clumps despite continued shaking.
We've been using this product for over 20 years but will not be using anymore. I have cancelled our subscription. Customer service has turned into automated chats that leave you hanging in a que that eventually drops you. If you can actually get a real person, they can't help. One guy told me he was sorry and said he'd give me free shipping. I said I already have free shipping.so, he gave me 300 points which is worth $10 but still no product from my online order. I used to get orders in 2 days. There's no way you can place an order that comes from Corpus Christi, goes to Dallas then Chicago to delivery in Topeka in 2 days! GNC used to have quality product, good customer service and reliable delivery. Sad to see what it has become. We used to recommend them to family and friends but We'll be finding another option for our product.

I ordered some protein bars from them. I put in my address. Somehow they changed the address. I didn't catch. It went to some other person's house. Their response was, "Well go to that person's house and get your stuff." Lol. Like really. Tried to fight it with the cc company but was denied 'cause it shows delivered. Will never order from this company again.

DISGUSTING BUSINESS! GNC are liars and thieves. I’ll never purchase from them again. They lie and steal from customers and send you broken supplement bottles with glass shattered. To make matters worse they take no accountability, then the clock runs out and “We can’t do anything. It's past 30 days.”

Terrible customer service. First and last time ordering from them. Everything was ruined and damaged and they wanted a million pictures. The girl was typing like mad in the background and didn't give a care in the world what I said or how to refund the order. Horrible sham of a business. Even their online chat was like talking to a 14 year old boy, so unprofessional and stilted like a little boy.

I will NEVER order anything from GNC online again!!! I placed an order for my preworkout and still haven’t received it! It’s been 10 days now. This is pathetic! I paid $12.99 for 2-5 day shipping, as I said, 10 days later I still don’t have it. I only ordered it online because they had 20% off, but after shipping it was the same price as in store.

Absolute atrocious customer service twice now. Here’s the shortest version: Order placed 6/21/25. Shipment totally went missing and I sent an email asking what is going on on 7/1/25. Finally got a response on 7/6/25 saying that the order is missing and telling me they would send me replacements. But, once again, customer service fell apart and I never heard anything back from them and never got a shipment. Sent ANOTHER EMAIL asking them what is going on on 7/11/25…. No response at all. Just order from someone else. This is a waste of time trying to get GNC to follow-through on their end of the deal.

I was having some vitamins getting delivered to my home. I ended up getting way behind in taking them so I canceled some orders and in that time I needed to get a new debit card number and that's when I decided to no longer buy the vitamins. And a week ago I was sent an E-mail reminding me that my debit card info needed to be updated but I didn't worry about it because I wasn't wanting them anyway only to realize it a few days later they charged my account anyways. I called them and they told me that I must have purchased something from them with my new card and they don't have any other answers. I know for a fact that I didn't and I believe that they used AI to illegally get my new debt card info without my consent and that is considered FRAUD.

I purchased 6 boxes of Barebells during the buy 1 get 1 50% off about 1 1/2 months ago. They were shipped haphazardly in 3 different shipments arriving all different days. EVERY one of them was melted and ruined. I contacted GNC and had the worst experience. They were slow to respond then wanted a picture of every ruined item. I opened bars and sent them pictures. I had to contact multiple times and I was only refunded 2 of the 6 boxes I ordered and then they wouldn’t respond. I will NEVER order from them again. They wouldn’t even let me return them. Poorest customer service I’ve experienced in a long time!

Went into the local store I use, clerk tells me he can inform me of information on any product, but can’t sell me anything! He has no business license, so he can’t sell! Don’t waste your time on this joke business. Shop Amazon, saved $33 dollars for the same product! Business license renewal comes in January, slacker business that obviously makes too much money! I will no longer shop at GNC. Don't buy anything online. You'll get charged for the full order but only receive half the order.

Gnc does nothing to help customers when they have not received their package! I spent almost $150 and never received it! They wrote me a email back and told me there was nothing they could do! My friends and family shop here regularly but not anymore! I don’t recommend GNC to Anybody! Such poor customer service

I purchased a multi-vitamin during a BOGO sale. The store only had 1 bottle left, so they said that I could go back and get the free bottle at a later time. They can see in their system that I purchased the item during a BOGO period, but have refused to honor their word. I had to go back to the store 2 times and the store manager and regional manager declined to honor. Very displeased to say the least. My time isn't worth the $14.99 bottle of vitamins, but to lose a customer over such a small amount is bad business.

Horrible customer service experience - ordered 3 cases of an energy drink and received 3 large cases of the complete wrong product in the mail. After contacting customer service and submitting photos of the product I received, I was told that my original order would be immediately shipped with expedited shipping that day. 2+ days later I'm contacted and told that my order had not yet been shipped and that I now have to go ship back all of the incorrect product via FedEx (3 large, heavy boxes) and wait for those items to be received & processed by the return center before their team can confirm the issue and then eventually decide to ship my original product (which I now ordered over 2 weeks ago - making it so that it would take nearly a month to receive my order).
Additionally, I was given one return label for 3 boxes of product, so FedEx was unable to accept the other boxes. After waiting on hold for 20+ minutes to retrieve these additional labels so that I could return to FedEx once more for a second shipment, I was told that I still wouldn't be sent my original order until it was all received on their end. After asking if there was anything their team could do to make up for this wildly inconvenient situation, I was offered a $5 gift card for my troubles (which wouldn't even cover shipping had I accepted it). Unacceptable customer service experience as a first time GNC customer which has entirely deterred me from shopping with this company ever again. - Worked with Laura & Sebastian on their customer service team.

If I could give this zero stars I would. I went in store to purchase magnesium chews. Was asked if I wanted to renew membership fee which I did (big mistake). Was charged $39.99 for that and charged $17.99 for the magnesium chews. Did not receive and it's been 16 days. The company refuses to refund my membership and now I have to go back to the store to hopefully get a refund of an item I never received. They are $60 richer and I'm out all that money!!! Be careful when shopping with GNC!!!!

Do Not Buy From Them!!!. I made a purchase of protein powder and two protein snacks. They only sent me the snacks but not the powder. I went to the contact page and you can't submit any kind of email, you either chat or call. After going through their customer service they decided that they sent me my item and they would NOT give me a replacement or refund. So I'm out $45. I could have sent them a picture of the box with their packing slip on it showing that the box was not big enough to hold the powder and the two snacks if I could have emailed them. It took forever to ship out and they were slow making their decision about my order. They will not get another penny from me.

I purchase items from them during Thanksgiving. One family member needs calcium supplements and I have been constantly purchasing them from GNC. I stocked up on Calcium for the new year during the Black Friday sale. I did not open the items until after the New Year, as I was away on holiday. Upon finally inspecting them, I was extremely disappointed to discover that every product was either expired or alarmingly close to its expiration date.
I contacted customer service immediately and they refused to refund or replace them because I was told that it's more than 30 days since the order was placed. This was unexpected and disheartening, as I believe the quality and shelf life of a product should be paramount, especially when it pertains to health and wellness supplements.
