Do not sign up for the PayPal Mastercard! They are a scam! I signed up under a promotion to get a $40 credit towards my first purchase, I made my first purchase and did not receive the credit. After calling, now the 3rd time, and being transferred back and forth between departments and the same exact people (who do not speak English and you cannot understand) I was told today I already received the credit on the 10th when I applied (my first purchase was not made until the 17th and it wasn't applied). I explained this then was transferred again to someone who said the $40 would apply after a few billing periods. 2 days ago I was told it would be applied in 24 hours and it was not. They lie to get you off the phone. The card is a PayPal Mastercard by Synchrony (I had the same issue receiving my sign up promotion with my Sams Club Synchrony Mastercard as well). PayPal chat also has done nothing to help me.

PayPal MasterCard holds on to your payment for entirely too long after you make it. Last month I paid my payment on time and it was held for two weeks and I was charged late fee penalties. When you call customer service it's hard to understand them and they talk in circles.

This credit debit or whatever heck it is prepaid PayPal Mastercard is an absolute scam. There’s no one to talk to ever. There’s zero customer service. Every time you ask a question it’s just a standard robot response. Good luck getting your money back if you have fraudulent activities. My card was hacked by a Chinese website and purchased goods. I can’t even order Chinese food. I’m so unChinese. Of course the scam is I got $160 in fraudulent charges that it took me three weeks to claim because I had to keep going to different departments. Once the claim was accepted they don’t automatically issue a credit. You get a email a few days after their plane that tells you the mail in writing to a PO Box in Texas which if it was done properly would take three weeks to get there and to be processed.
However they only give you four days to write a letter to confirm everything you’ve already confirmed and on the phone and in the in an email. Somehow they needed it in writing online. That’s a scam. Most people would just give up. If you don’t get this letter in the next review. Is 60 days later. And then you still don’t get your money back. You have to write a letter again and then it takes another 90 days for them to get back to you. I still haven’t got my money back and it’s been over one year that since I made the plan to obviously fraudulent website in China.

Please do not get this card, they make you pay for fraud and phishing on your card and also today they shut down my card while using it because the card was declining and I use it to pay my phone bill, so I had to take the 300$ that withdraw to pay my bill, because it was declining, and they shut down my card saying it "I shouldn't withdraw the money", I had to because the card is declining, to pay my bills on time .. So now I'm 2,000 in debt because of PayPal shutting my card, and I can't pay back with no credit availability...I'm laid off. NEVER, I will shout out to the whole world not to.

Worst experience I’ve had with a financial product. The only thing PayPal Prepaid seems to do efficiently is charge fees. Customer support is a nightmare—trying to get help turns into an endless loop of automated responses and dead ends. Simple issues take far too long to resolve, if they get resolved at all. I would not recommend this card to anyone who values their time or sanity.

PayPal is just as bad as the people that steal your money. They allow fraudulent activities to go in your account and then they allow the fraudulent person who put the transaction on your account to give them rights to your money.

I found out after I was finished that they secretly charged my account $48. In the beginning they said it would be $5 and I would get that back. I did not agree to pay $48 for some stupid advice I could have figured out myself if I had the time. I will never use them again. I guarantee you that.

ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN PAYPAL. I bought a PayPal prepaid card from Walgreens and never got to use my money, the process of setting up an account and then saying your information is wrong is ridiculous so DON'T BUY A CARD FROM PAYPAL.

For nearly 2 months hackers tried to get into my account. They were able to change my address, phone and email. Each time PayPal would "fix" my account the thieves would get in again. They ordered cards which I was charged $25 3 times and I am still waiting for refund. They say they sent me new cards to replace the cards that THEY cancelled out because they weren't sure if they were stolen or not. After several attempts, the thieves stole $595 from my account. Disputes filed. Took two weeks to get my money back. But case is not closed. They still have to investigate. OBVIOUS CASE OF IDENTITY THEFT!!!
Thieves tried to steal money right down street from their house. It's excuses. Even on day they returned money the thieves were trying to steal the money again. This outfit has the worst security. Your money is not safe!!!! Worst customer service all foreigners and you get put on hold for a long time. One person can't do all the stuff so you have to wait again on hold. Musical chairs!!!! I closed account they say I owe $23 to pay for a stolen card. Never getting it!!! I'm contacting BBB.

I would give 0 stars if I could. This place isn’t even PayPal they are just affiliated so they are using the name and giving it a horrible one at that. I grabbed one of these cards to do online shopping while I waited for my actual PayPal card to come in. Transactions failed so I called and they said I needed all this verification like photo ID and a proof of utility bill!? It’s a prepaid card I put my own money on!!
I tried to explain that I have no utilities so they told me I can only use it for store purposes. I then said if I can’t use it I will just take the money out of the atm. Which I was then told I wasn’t allowed to use the atm either without verification! Are you kidding me again? It’s my money on a prepaid card. The only option was to get a check sent back in 10 business days so I had to take that as it was the only way I could have my money. The women told me the amount and was off because she wanted to charge me the monthly fee for a card I had for a cpl hrs and never even got to use!! Serious scam
