I signed up for this company as a solo practice to use the EHR. You would need to be a software engineer to understand it. Their training videos are not even organized into numerical order or logical sense. I had one training session with this company and explored the software for 2 days of videos after signing a 12 month contract. I immediately recognized this software is designed for hospitals or large practices, not single use companies. I immediately canceled my contract and they want $600 to cancel it. I stated I would be leaving reviews for their company and they escalated it to requiring me to pay 12 months of a product I never used. That's $2,268.00 and asked me to provide my attorney information. I am filing a complaint with the state of NJ Consumer Affairs to mediate this company's practices. DO NOT USE ADVANCEDMD.

"Please be advised that, due to your breach of the 12-month agreement and unwillingness to reach a settlement agreement, this matter will be escalated directly to our litigation team. We do not utilize collection agencies in these circumstances. We will be seeking recovery of the full contractual amount of $2,268.00 in addition to any applicable late fees, interest, and associated legal costs. Your contractual term remains in effect through April 2027, and all obligations under the agreement continue to apply. If you are represented by legal counsel, please provide their contact information promptly so that all further communications may be directed accordingly. Otherwise, future correspondence regarding this matter will proceed through our legal representatives. Jessica"

Solo primary care physician, joined Advanced MD 1 year ago. Learning EMR and PM platform is very involved but worth it as both platforms are comprehensive. Unfortunately, I had to close my clinic due to the loss of father. Explained this to AdvancedMD, as I was asking for a month clinic given the circumstances. Advanced MD was not all empathetic. They made it clear that profit was more important than the consumer. I would not recommend this EMR.

I don’t know where this charge is coming from. I just get a random text saying I owe but I cannot tell what I’m paying for. Highly suspicious. I think I know what it could be because I went to urgent care but the text and the link give me no clue.

Been a customer for 14 years, the practice has now downsized & we cannot get any assistance with changing our software to a subscription based platform. Very sad to see that it’s all about money!!! False promises & nothing but sales tactics, nobody cares about anything but commissions made. Literally offering “deals” because another client backed out, but no customer service at all. Just push the sales as hard as possible. Terrible way to do business in the medical field!

I have used a number of different EHR's. Some were at major medical centers and tailored to meet the demands of an extremely complicated healthcare system. Others I used in a private practice, slimmed down to address the more simplistic needs. Regardless, with any, after a couple of training sessions, I was up and running, ready to start seeing patients. I am starting my own practice and I wanted an EHR that I could specifically tailor to meet my expectations for providing excellent patient care. AdvancedMD was marketed as having that possibility and the salesman really spoke to my interest. It has been a disaster from day one. There is absolutely nothing intuitive about this EHR that has a thousand moving parts. I had to build my own evaluation templates, that took many hours of trial and retrial, and still, they were of poor quality.

I thought I had everything ready to go and saw my first patient last week. However, the patient needed a prescription for a controlled substance and the interface between AdvancedMD and EPCS would not work, so I was unable to prescribe. Also, I have been used to the ability to access a record of all the medications my patients have been prescribed (if that function exists it is well hidden in the myriad of non-useful bells and whistles). When I have raised my concerns, I got a threatening letter from their attorney--no solace, no understanding that this wasn't meeting my needs or the needs of my patients. Only concern they had was getting their money. I wish I had seen a review like this earlier. There are much simpler and user friendly EHRs available and I could have started using two months ago (BTW--that is when my training started and I still don't know how to use the EHR).

In summary: the salespeople misrepresent the product; it does not provide the busy practitioner the ability to be quickly trained and use it in clinical care; the company seems only concerned with making profits off of a poorly conceptualized product rather than supporting the consumer; operationally, it is just overwhelming to carry out the most mundane tasks; and, it has overall been a terrible experience for me. I have lost patient revenue during the time when I could not use it to see patients, my patients do not like the services they are receiving through the ineptitude of this product and I quite frankly, am ashamed to subject my patients to me trying to "clunk" my way through it.

Horrendous experience, especially their on-boarding. For a small to mid-sized company like ours, it was an ABSOLUTE DISASTER. When I complained about it to upper management (literally, I got a hold of C-levels, including their interim CEO (Amanda Hansen) and let them know, they didn't care. Sean ** was ok, but his hands were tied by the mess that is them. They blew me off, like it was nothing. They're both deluded and delusional, in equal measure. AVOID, don't use them. Their training is awful too, it was done by someone who had never shown up and she was nasty. I don't care that Francisco Partners bought AdvancedMD for $1.1B, they are a POORLY run group. Bad buy!

Don’t do business with this company, clunky old EHR. Everything is manual. Customer experience is terrible. I got charged $11 K by them for a two-hour meeting with them. No provision in their contract for when a customer is unhappy. Implementation coach took over a month to meet with me and then said he would need to cancel periodically. They trap you into telling you the first months are free and they should be, as you have to do much manual work. They don’t even have CPT codes or diagnosis codes. You have to provide everything from the ground up. They lied on the sales call and tell you how great their software is. See my BBB complaint that they have yet to resolve.

Billing aspect is just a nightmare. Your practice will be losing tens of thousands of dollars. They will be blaming everyone but themselves. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this software at all costs.

Run away. AdvancedMD updates its system about every 4 to 6 months, which results in further degradation and loss of function. It is the only software vendor I have heard of that makes its system worse with each upgrade. Expect a day to a week of havoc in your office each time they launch an "upgrade." You would think they would beta-test their updates before unleashing them on their customers. But apparently, they do not do this. Customer service waits can be a few minutes to a few hours. The last time I called customer service to ask them to fix an "upgrade," they told me it was supposed to work like that and hung up on me.

AdvancedMD and their clearinghouse input the wrong EIN and payer IDs in. I’ve not been able to bill several payers for over a year. No help. Very poor access to customer service. Over $600 a month for very little training or access to billing help.
