Capital One Venture has been an extremely disappointing experience. I was denied a refund for charges from a merchant who never provided the services I paid for, even after submitting full documentation proving the airline cancelled the flight. Capital One refused to stand behind their customer, ignored the facts, and closed the dispute without any reasonable explanation. A travel card that advertises protection and support should actually protect its customers. Instead, I was left paying for services I never received. I would not recommend the Venture card to anyone who expects fair treatment or reliable dispute resolution. I will be canceling my credit card with Capital One Venture.

Zero stars! I booked flights through Capital One. I made sure to pay extra for seat selection since I'm traveling with my kids. The Capital One site allowed me to choose my seats, then I received an email stating that the seat selection was not approved and I needed to go on the Delta site to select my seats. I went to the Delta site and only paid seats were available. I then called Capital One and explained the situation only to be told I needed to call Delta that they couldn't do anything. I then called Delta and they said the ticket Capital One sold me did not include seat selection even though the listing said it did, even on my Capital One receipt it says free and shows the seats I selected. Delta then instructed me to call Capital One back.
With all the back and forth and limited seating available for 3 people to sit next to each other I paid Delta directly an additional $320 cash plus points to be able to choose seats that were supposed to be included for free. This is beyond ridiculous. I even spoke to a manager and was willing to email my receipt showing that I paid the additional money. She didn't want to do that so I said well look up my pending transactions you will see one to Delta for $320 and she said she couldn't see it. Capital One sold me a ticket with incorrect information about free seats they need to refund me the additional $320 I had to spend on seat selection, on the Delta site it showed no free seats because they said the level of ticket Capital One sold me did not include free seats like it stated it did.

The first card that I had was getting hit with fraudulent charges, so they sent me a new card, and then the new card was getting hit by the same company before I even had it out of my mailbox! I had not even had the card in my hand yet to activate it. What is that say about Capital One's security? Well, it tells me enough that they can keep their third card for sure. I'll be settling up the account and closing that as soon as possible.

I am sad to say that I definitely would NOT recommend this card!!!! I was told it was a VISA card on the website! Come to find out that they are now all discover cards!! My son is traveling to Italy and I did my research to ensure the best experience for him! It was too late to get another travel card without any fees for transactions! DISCOVER is not available in the college town and most of ITALY!!!! If you are traveling internationally DO NOT GET THIS CARD!! They refused to change it to a visa and I am beyond disappointed! HORRIBLE CARD!

What’s especially concerning is the nature of the verification process itself. After allowing an initial purchase, subsequent activity is flagged as “fraud,” and customers are then asked to upload highly sensitive personal documents through an emailed link. Even if this process is legitimate, it raises serious questions about how securely this information is handled and why such intrusive verification is required after the account has already been approved and used. I’ve also seen multiple reports of customers experiencing the same pattern, which makes this feel less like an isolated issue and more like a systemic problem. I have two other Capital One cards tied to the same online account??? How stupid is this!!!!

Capital One Travel is the WORST! They left us stranded without a hotel reservation for four nights. We had prepaid for the stay, but they never booked it. The hotel, the Hilton, had no rooms available, nor did any other hotel. But Capital One Travel did us the huge “favor” of refunding our reservation with no charges. Never again! Ruined our vacation.

I recently did a balance transfer to my card for almost $18,000 and got charged over $500 for it. Then the next month the automatic payment hit and you collected the full payment included the almost $18,000 balance transferred (which doesn’t make any sense!!!). When I realized it, I called to fix it and I was told that within 10 business days I was going to get my money back. 2 weeks went by and nothing happened… I called again and I was told that they didn’t see that they requested my money, I was even told that this happens so offer that they had a regular procedure for it, because it happens to many people, then the very chatty and happy lady that helped me told me that this time for sure!!! Within 10 business days again, I was going to get my money back.
Now over a month has passed by since my first phone call… after looking at my mailbox for over a month!!! Nothing came in, now I called a third time, “AFTER OVER A MONTH” from my first call. This time they said I was going to get transferred to a supervisor. This time, the supposed to be supervisor tells me that my request was denied, when nobody told me “IN OVER A MONTH!!!!” That this was up to approval. After getting extremely mad (which is rare on me) I demanded to get a refund of the fees that I was charged and didn’t use, of course I’m not going to pay that much money for one month when I wanted to use a full year (12 months). Now I’m waiting for an answer on that. This has been the worst experience ever!!!! Nothing makes sense, just the fact that there’s a big scam going on on Capital One’s behalf for sure.

Be warned: This will affect your credit. Applied for the Capital One venture one Balance transfer card. 1/28/26. It was advertised 21 months 0% financing, 3% transfer fee, 0% annual fee. With Credit score between 670 to 850. My score is 739. I have transferred before and normally can do the transfers as soon as I’m approved which I was online, right away, for $7000. It wouldn’t allow me to. I called Capital One. You have to wait for your card.
When the Card came in, I still can’t do the transfers? Call Capital One again. You have to wait 10 days from when you applied. Today is February 9, 2026. I still couldn’t do the transfer. Called Capital One. They talked in circles. I asked for a manager. She spoke in circles. That Card don’t have that offer which is a lie. I have written down when I applied what the offer was exactly and which Card. There was no offer number or promotion number. It affected my credit. My credit went down one point because I applied. Would’ve been worth it had Capital One not falsely advertised. I will never use a Capital One card again. I hope this helps others.

This card specifically for traveling and you get more rewards booking through Their website BUT if you compare their prices with any other website they are more expensive and they don’t price match Packages which is the main thing people use to book a vacation trip. The HIDE, Venture X don’t price match packages (hotel and flights together). Way cheaper on Expedia or Booking.

I applied for the Venture One Rewards Card during a promotion: 0% interest and "Earn 20,000 bonus miles once you spend $500 on purchases within 3 months from account opening". It is a serious bait and switch committed by Capital One. When I called customer service, many, many times, I was told that there was no bonus attached to my application. That isn't even logical because why would anyone apply for the card without the current bonus? I already have two other Capital One cards that had more than enough room for my purchases, so applying for the Venture Card minus bonuses makes no sense.
I have written 3 letters sent by post, asking why I didn't receive the 20k bonus miles, and each time I receive, by DocuSign, the same exact form letter, even though I ask them directly to tell me WHY I did not receive the bonus. I even took a screenshot of my application page proving my case. Unfortunately, Capital One didn't care about my customer status, my exemplary payment history, or even logic. I was denied the bonus features. I am in the process of canceling all my business and personal cards and accounts with Capital One. Capital One has lost a loyal customer because they refuse to honor their own advertising.
