National Van Lines moved our household goods (over 10,000 pounds) from Florida to Las Vegas. From first contact to final delivery the experience was excellent, very transparent and very competitively priced. Overall, it was the best moving experience we ever had.

I moved from Colorado to Wisconsin. I chose National Van Lines after receiving quotes from a couple other companies. I've moved out of state before and have not had good experiences so I was pretty stressed about the whole thing. However, Dennis ** with National was very professional and patient, not pushy at all, answered all my questions, and the quote was in the middle of the other companies' quotes. I'm so glad I went with National. The communication was great, they were timely, efficient, friendly and professional. Everything was delivered as promised. I will definitely use National Van Lines in the future. Thank you so much!

We moved from Sarasota, Florida to San Mateo California. Packers, packing and loading were exceptional - on time, prompt, courteous, The supervisor/driver was wonderful and made sure any delicate objects were packed safely. Upon delivery, nothing got broken, and the driver replaced two items that had gotten loaded at the last minute and lost in transit. The only reason this is not 5 star is that delivery was almost a week later than promised, and I found out later that the company knew it would be that late at the time of our pick-up.

The van lines has drivers that are picking up shipments with interline want the drivers to pack beds, TV for free, while the agents are too lazy to finish the job, they are also not compliant with title 49 cfr 376.12 or 371.1.

Boxes were not unpacked and in terrible condition. As I began to unpack I noticed some of my valuables were missing. These were not on the 'inventory list' because I had packed these items carefully myself hoping to avoid any loss. Unfortunately, the boxes had been opened and re-taped and some of the more precious items were missing. I have yet to find my dishes and jewelry. My advice, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Loading: Fast, efficient; crew were careful not to damage furniture or walls, even in tight turns on stairways. Issue with our e-bikes - they were unnecessarily broken down, then upon delivery were reassembled incompletely. Delivery: Rushed. The crew were being rushed to get to their next job and were sloppy with reassembling some furniture and especially bikes (lost parts). Only minor damage to items. Ruined bike mirrors (lost parts meant they could not be re-attached), dented wine refrigerator. Otherwise no significant damage. Nothing missing, except bike parts and some screws to another piece of furniture. Delay. Delivery was two days late. Delay compensation was inadequate. National refused to take into account regional differences when determining allowable hotel compensation.

Billing. National charged us $188 for a non-existent TV carton. We explained that the "TV carton" had been cobbled together from old boxes and packing tape and asked for that amount to be refunded to us. The accounting department refused to communicate (emails went unanswered) and only relented when we threatened small claims court. We would also question why the charge for a TV carton is $188. Communication with our sales rep/move coordinator was excellent. Cross-country moves are always tricky. This one went pretty smoothly. Based on previous experiences, nothing broken or missing is exceptional, and a two-day delay is not unreasonable.

Thanks for the feedback. We're glad the crew was careful during loading and that communication was strong. The $188 TV carton charge was refunded on 9/23 after review. We apologize for the issues with the bikes, missing parts, and delivery delay. Your comments have been shared with our team to help improve service.

NVL moved me from the Bay Area to Colorado in July 2025. They were about 50% more than any other mover quoted me, but I was encouraged by, among other things, their commitment to quality work and prompt resolution of claims. Ha! I grossly overpaid and they refuse to make good on the items they broke or lost. They delivered +/- 60 boxes to my apartment. Other than setting up the furniture, they did not unpack any boxes. Over the next couple of weeks, I unpacked all 60 boxes. I discovered that a device used with my bed (an Eight Sleep hub) was missing, and they damaged a trophy shelf.

I timely submitted a claim. Incredibly, they denied the claim on the grounds that I hadn't identified the issues 'on the delivery papers'. How could I possibly identify that something was lost or damaged when the property was delivered??? Utter nonsense. My bed frame was also delivered damaged. I showed the move supervisor the damage, and one of his crew tried to fix the problem to no avail. NVL denied the claim as if none of this happened. The total amount of the loss or damage is around $2,000. I was offered $20. NVL's strategy is clearly to deny claims at first, hoping the client will give up.

I was unable to reach anyone to determine our delivery date once our items were loaded on the truck. Ultimately our load was cross docked, and many items were disassembled and not wrapped before they were packed into another truck, so they were damaged. I received a call 7 minutes before they arrived at my new location, and when they opened the door of the truck, items actually fell out. It took almost 2 weeks to get my actual load weight, which is how they determine your actual charges. I have been working with them for 8 weeks on my damage claim, and they also charged me over $600 to pack tv's and mattresses that were never packed. Whenever I contacted them, they continually told me that someone else was working on the issue. I am still owed a partial refund after 8 weeks of following up every 2-3 days. Very bad experience.

I am writing a sincere advice, when you contract a company to handle your household move. Do NOT leave any member of the moving crew to be on their own in any room of your house while picking up or delivering/assembling your furniture. During my last interstate move while I was busy going over the inventory list, item by item, a crew member was by himself assembling the bed in the bedroom.

I discovered few days later that my iPhone which was in my hand bag was missing. I searched the whole house and the bag without any luck. The bag was in my possession the whole time during the move, The phone was stolen, by one of the 2 men who handled the furniture delivery!. The men were from a town in Texas. The tracking of the missing phone indicated that the phone is present in that Texas town!, I am in Orlando, Florida and I never been in Texas! I notified the Company and filed a claim, but I do not know what will be the outcome. When you move your stuff and you are by yourself, and nobody else available to watch those movers, be extra watchful for possible theft!!

We hired these movers to transport from Phoenix to Michigan. Was a terrible experience. They were a week late in arriving. Had numerous items broken, many beyond repair or replacement. We took out insurance and they are now denying the reimbursement. Do not recommend at all. Driver was argumentative and walked off job first day without loading any items.
