The smart home hub arrived in a box that looked like it must have been a return from someone else. It was broken. I spent about a long time with customer support going back and forth to fix it. They eventually sent a second one but I didn't want to rely on the second device since the first one didn't work. The two fall detectors that I ordered also needed tech support before they would work (I did get them working eventually).
I ended up returning the system for a refund, but they required me to return them within exactly 2 weeks or I would get no refund at all. That would have been an ok timeline for me, but I had to wait for the 2nd replacement home hub to show up before returning it. So that might it stressful to get the return done in time. Customer service was very nice. Just a bad product and glitchy technology. I made my own system that does most of what Aloe does by purchasing a few Amazon Alexa devices and setting those up throughout the house.

We canceled my mother's service in 2021. Had to file a complaint in 2022 and found out they are still billing us in 2024. We initially started having doubts when we first got the device and couldn't get it to properly stay connected. After multiple runabouts with their customer service tech team the device still wasn't staying connected. We canceled the service and went with another leading brand.
A few months later we found out they were still charging us and had to dispute with our credit card company. Just recently I found out they were still billing our credit card when the device hasn't been hooked up to their systems in over 2 1/2 years. You would think that if they had a customer whose device wasn't hooked up that they would've reached out to that customer or to their family just to make sure that they knew the system wasn't set up and to help set it up to avoid any type of complications. Go with the bigger companies. Better service and infrastructure and much much better customer support.

The product fails to live up to its promise of user-friendliness and seamless operation in varied network conditions. Despite residing in a rural area with a strong cell signal—bolstered further by a signal booster—the device has never successfully activated or functioned since its acquisition a year ago. The cancellation process is unnecessarily complex, resulting in a monthly fee of $40 for a non-functional service. Additionally, the device's interface proved too difficult for individuals who are not tech-savvy, as evidenced by my mother's inability to use it. While the concept is commendable, its execution lacks in areas that are crucial for its intended user base.

Aloe Care Health is very effective and I feel very safe. It’s faster than I thought. I will have to change where I have the device because I have it downstairs and I like to have a long bath and put music, and I'm not hearing the phone ringing. By the time I come down, I have done a ton of exercise and I couldn't answer. But I'm very glad that the medical device functions so well because it makes me happy. I appreciate it because it's better than in TV. But I would have to find a more neutral location so I can reach it on time.
I'm so happy we're giving you peace-of-mind, Isabel!

When we received the Total Care package, I was out of town so I couldn’t set it up right away. For your information, they start counting the the day you ordered it as part of the trial period. That was disappointing. Anyway, I tried connecting the Smart Hub, that took hours and it still didn’t work even with technical help. I came back the next day, and after trying again, I finally got it to work. The GPS Mobile Companion Go seems to work just fine and no problems setting it up. Have not really traveled with it so I don’t know how well it would work, the Care Button setup was easy enough, I have not been able to get the 2 Motion Sensors to connect or work whatsoever. I have to call a technician and spend more time trying to get those to connect.
The Fall Sensor setup was relatively easy to setup, but a month and a half later, my app said it was disconnected. I’m talking with the technical support trying to get it to work. I had to take it back to factory settings to try to get it to work. This is hours of my life trying to get this system to do what it’s supposed to do. The people who work for Aloe Care are lovely, that’s the only reason I’m giving this 2 stars. Great concept, I love the idea of it, but there are still too many bugs with the system to work consistently, and it’s too expensive to not work consistently.
Hi Irina - very sorry to hear of the issues you experienced with us! One quick point to clarify, the monitoring (and the monitoring fee) begins once a device is plugged in. We do not charge for monitoring when the order is placed. I believe in your case, the Mobile Companion Go was plugged in as soon as it arrived, thereby activating our service. Is that right? If not, please reach out to us (support @ getaloecare dot com) and we will, of course, make it right! To your other point, our team said they sent out replacement Mobile Sensors this week - I do hope that fixes the issue and gets you fully onboard. Please don't hesitate to reach out, Irina, we're always happy to help! Thank you and be well! Susan at Aloe Care

I had an issue with being able to access the app. But it was so great because their IT team was so helpful and they didn't give up. When they would come up with ideas and then email me or call me and I would try them and they didn't work, they would go back to the drawing table, and then they got it fixed. It was appreciated. Even though I'm the one with the alert device and I'm a 42-year-old female who's cognitively intact, I can't be in charge of the app myself. I have to put a caregiver in charge of it. That's the only part of the app that I don't like. But it doesn't ever hinder me from being able to do anything. I just can't invite people to my care circle. I have to have my mom invite people to my care circle.
I'm glad our Customer Care team delivered, Andrea! We work really hard to make sure we get that right; it's nice to hear about it when we do.:)
I looked up your profile, and you should be able to invite people to your care circle yourself, if the following 411 doesn't work or isn't clear, please drop us a line at support@getaloecare.com and we'll be more than happy to help!

Once I received the package, it was difficult to install because there were a lot of imposed limitations on where you can set up the gear. Once the panel that detects falls was setup up, it almost immediately malfunctioned and turned off. It never came back on again. For a short while, the hub and the bracelet were functioning properly but. very quickly my grandmother was getting constantly bombarded with messages from the HUB asking if she was ok.
Very quickly, none of the equipment worked due to some Wi-fi issues according to a telephone rep. He assured me the matter would be resolved as quickly as possible. That never happened, and the issue had to be escalated to one of the engineers who just couldn't crack the case either. I threw the towel in and wanted to cancel my subscription. This is when it became clear that the companies policy on closing accounts revolves around a phone call where they can then cancel your subscription, but not refund you the money for the last two months of service when the equipment wasn't working.
I've researched a lot of these devices and I really thought it would be a good product. WRONG. Turns out it's only slight above mediocre marketing. My grandmother lives alone and I don't want to have ever worry about something coming to visit to find her on the floor after having a stroke just several days before. I'll pay good money for the chance of something like that happening to be reduced to .000001%. The sad reality is it looks like these companies don't thoroughly test their equipment and just rush everything to market whether it provides the safety and peace of mind it advertises. So I send a sincere thank you to the reps at Aloe Health Care for reminding me that black-hearted businessmen and women are still staunchly defending their inferior products under the guise of providing care for your family. Keep climbing. Those well-earned riches are almost in your grasp.
Hello Maciej,
I dug in on your situation a bit, and it sounds like the issues did stem from a change in internet provider, and it's clear we weren't able to solve the issue for your family. I'm very sorry about that - this is certainly not the outcome any of us want.
It does look like the team initially refunded you the hardware cost and one of the two months of monitoring service - we just refunded you for the other month (it may take up to 10 days to show up on your cc, so just a bit more patience, please).
Again, Maciej - I'm very sorry we couldn't make this work for you and your grandmother.
Wishing you and your family all the best,Susan at Aloe Care

I was a little disappointed that it didn't work when I was outside my home. I thought that it would work within 100 feet of the base but it didn't. Thankfully, I had my cellphone with me so I was able to call for help. I also set it off inadvertently a few times when I was wearing it on my wrist. So I put it around my neck and I haven't set it off accidentally since.
Hi Judy - We're very sorry that happened to you & VERY glad you were able to call for help! It may be useful to consider adding the Mobile Companion Go to your service which works nationwide and has built-in fall detection. It's our latest offering and it's a small, powerful device - easy to wear around your neck. I'd be happy to help arrange that for you at a very (very!) low price. We'll contact you directly with more information. Please be safe and well, Judy!

Their team is excellent. Now that my mom has the device, I would feel better if she would wear the watch or the neckless. The problem is that she refuses to wear them. So, we just practice her saying emergency three times.

I called a couple of different places and the people from Aloe Care have the best product for the best price. Their customer care was phenomenal, too. While I was looking into purchasing their device for my mother, periodically, their reps Tony and Larry, would check in. They would ask about my mom and if I was ready to buy. But there was no pressure. Then when I bought it two years later, they gave me the same sale price that was being offered back in 2020 for Mother's Day. They walked us through setting it up, too.
My mom's had a couple emergency situations and Aloe Care's reps have been really on the ball. They were super caring and non-judgmental. My mom is now alone at her house and every once in a while, there'll be a glitch or something will happen and my mom calls them, and they respond to her right away. It's nice knowing that there's someone there full time with our mom that we can check in with, even though it’s a machine. We love that device. My mom has lost her independence and this has made such a big difference because she feels safer in her own home. I tell everybody about it.
Thank you, Ursula! We're so glad we are helping both your mom & the family caregivers! Keeping people safer and bringing peace of mind to everyone in the care circle is so important - it's why we do what we do. We'll share your appreciation with Toni and Barry, too!

I got Aloe for my dad. If he fell or hit the button, it would trigger something. It was just there for peace of mind. It was an emergency alert to let the users know that something happened. If they needed an ambulance, they could also use that. The device has a nice design. It looked like a watch and it didn't feel intrusive. It had a great speaker. If you couldn't get to the button, you could shout a certain word and the device would hear it. It would say, “Hey, you need this person?” My mom used the device too and it had a button for my mom to just call me if she couldn’t get to her cell phone. That was cool. There was also a button directly to the care team and there was more than just one person. It got to my sister, my husband, and my daughter. You could put other people on the list and that would go to everybody.

I was scanning through the computer trying to find an appropriate device. Some of the companies were very specific that they were Apple oriented. Aloe Care is Apple oriented but it wasn't put out there specifically so that was a little bit of a disappointment. I have not been able to get the app on my computer or on my phone. But my brothers and sisters have not had that issue, so they were able to make that happen.
The device set itself off last night. When I first got it and we first turned it on, we had to make sure it was working. We did a test on the 24th or the 25th. That went through to the person and they responded to us. That was great. Since I couldn’t get the app on my phone, I called Aloe back. The person said, “I’ll need email addresses so we can invite people.” I called them back once and gave them all the phone numbers and email addresses.
Come to find out the first email address I gave was that of my older brother, who is busy doing taxes right now for people. He got the first email invite. In the invite, it said, “You need to invite everybody else.” I didn’t understand why they asked for everybody else's email if we weren't inviting them. My son was good enough to let me use his phone to get into the app and go look through and invite my other siblings through the system. When my son's around, I can do what I need to do. That's the only drawback. Also, the device is a little bulkier than I would like. But it's not bad and it's not heavy. It has to be a receiver and it has to just be able to communicate with us. The device also charges every night.

I fell and decided to get Aloe Care Health. Customer service was wonderful. Sometimes, I don't even know I have the device on. But I don’t like that I have to charge it every day. That is a real disadvantage. Some other ones you can charge them every five to seven days. Aloe is deducting the money from my account every month like they're supposed to and the price is always the same. The only thing is I dropped the device on the floor one day and it didn't go off.

The Aloe Care Health team is very knowledgeable. They did everything they said and followed up with calls before I even got the product. My mother seems to be more confident in doing things because she has the necklace on. She wears it all the way until she gets in the shower. When I tested the button, their people came on and asked me if I was okay and if I needed help. My only concern is we dropped it and it didn't go off. We didn't know how that works. I read the paperwork and it says, “Does not 100% protect falls.”

The customer support at Aloe Care Health has been excellent. They were courteous and listened to what we kind of wanted out of the machine. Then in turn, they sent me information on the Mobile Companion. It fits the bill of what my mother wanted. My mother who's 94 is very happy to have it. She says it makes her feel more secure. When we had a little trouble with the setup, I had to call and they explained it. We were pleased with the phone calls and the people we talked to. I hope it will continue to be that way.

I set up an Aloe Care system for my 89 year old Mom two years ago. I open my Aloe Care Family Caregiver app every morning to make sure Mom is up to begin her day. Through small sensors strategically placed in her home, the app records her activity as she makes her way from her bedroom, down the hallway, through her living room, and into the kitchen to make her coffee. The family app gives my siblings and me a quick way to check Mom's activity at any time of day without interrupting her routine. And if Mom ever needs help, she can call out "emergency!" or press her CareButton, and the Aloe Care smart hub will be alerted. This is what happened two weeks ago:
Mom got up at 3am to go to the bathroom. As she was making her way back to bed, she lost her balance and crashed to the tile floor, breaking her pelvis. She did have the presence of mind to remember her CareButton around her neck and pressed it. Within seconds, an Aloe Care professional responder was speaking with her to assess the event and dispatch an ambulance. I received a push notification on my phone as soon as Mom pressed her CareButton, and I was called as soon as the ambulance was in route. Thanks to Aloe Care, Mom did not spend the night in pain on her bathroom floor. She has some tough rehab ahead of her but is very determined to regain her strength and return to the home she loves to celebrate her 90th birthday!

Aloe is probably the lowest price that I had for a button like that, which was why I went with them. Everybody else was outrageously priced. The Aloe healthcare team was awesome. They returned a phone call that they didn’t have to, to tell me the system was back up and running. Aloe Care is my mother’s and I’m the contact. Occasionally, the system goes off and she’s fine. But it goes off anyway to alert me. The button fits great into her lifestyle. I know where she's at so if there's a problem and I think she's not okay, I check on her.
