We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Sault Saint Marie, MI. Room had drain issues in bathroom sink, side entrance door looked and smelled like an ash tray, hot tub grungy, staff taking care of breakfast area were not organized, lots of items ran out, biscuits cold, waited over 30 minutes for sausage gravy and still told they were working on this, staff rolled eyes and rude when I asked for silverware that was empty, coffee in first day so light in color it was more like tea….Not a good experience for the huge bill we had to pay for our stay.
Cheryl, we see why you're disappointed with this experience, and my team would like to look into this. Please send us a private message with the full name on the reservation and arrival date, along with the reservation holder's mailing address, email, and phone number. -Mei

My mom booked a nonrefundable room at Henderson Las Vegas Comfort Inn through a 3rd party. Unfortunately, she suffered a heart attack & can not make the trip now. After multiple calls to the property & customer relations, they all denied any kind of refund or credit. I understand it was no refundable room but clearly, this was something completely out of her control. In the future, we will do everything possible to AVOID booking any rooms with this hotel chain!
Lacy, my team regrets to hear about what happened to your mom. We send your mom our best thoughts. Due to the circumstances, it's understandable to request a cancellation. Allow us to check your booking details, so please send us a private message with the full name on the reservation, arrival date, and the hotel's state, along with the reservation holder's mailing address, email, and phone number. Thank you.

This was a horrible experience, we knew it was going to be rainy at Six Flags and booked a hotel with a pool and hot tub, the hot tub and sauna are in disrepair and out of order. That would be nice to know when I asked at time of booking. They waited until we unpacked to let us know we were getting moved to another room. The floors have trip hazards everywhere because they used cheap fake flooring made for light applications not commercial floors. The whole entire staff, but mostly the housekeeper who threw us out of our room lol. So we had a time limit to pack to be moved to another room also. Worst hotel ever!!!!
Gerri, it is disappointing to hear about your unacceptable experience with one of our trusted brands. As a valued guest, you always deserve top-notch accommodations. Please send us a private message with the hotel address, date of arrival, and the name on the reservation. Also, if you're a Choice Privileges member, please add your profile's mailing address, phone number, and email address. We'll be waiting for your message. -Zaira

I have never been to a more disgusting hotel. They charged me two months before I arrived the guy behind the desk knew nothing he could not check us in until he called his boss. In another state. We had to wait 1520 minutes in addition to that we had no phone in our room. Wi-Fi did not work no pot no toilet paper holder no iron no cover to the ice bucket. The sheets were ripped. The power went in and out the person behind the desk nothing, I will never and I never stay at your hotel again and I will tell all my friends it is the worst hotel I’ve ever seen. There were other people that were very angry waiting for him to call The manager in another state just to check in. It doesn’t even deserve a one star, but you won’t let me send it without picking a star.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Tammy. We regret the issues you encountered during your stay, and this is far from the standard we strive to provide. We understand your frustration and will address these concerns with our team. Please send us the reservation details and your personal information directly to discuss this further. -Kathy

I reserved a weekend at the Comfort Inn, in Green Bay Wisconsin. I was flying home on that Monday. I will never ever stay in this hotel chain. As fast as I checked in, I checked to a whole different hotel. The room was very small. Nothing like the advertisement. It smelled so bad. A/C unit had mold building up in it. I used Clorox wipes to try and clean. Then the bathroom smelled strong of dog. Dog hair all over the room. Night stands, desk and TV stand. Dog hair on bed. I tried clearing but couldn't take it. Gross. I got a bad headache only 5 mins in this room. Children running wild in halls and pool area. No adult supervision. Checked into a different hotel. Less price and so beautiful, clean and fresh. Rooms big, very clean and fresh air. Never ever again. I received money back for one night, waiting for refund for next night and was charged the deposit. Worst experience ever. I found Wyndham are remarkable hotels.
Christine, we feel your dissatisfaction about this experience, as the conditions and accommodations you describe are recognizably not up to mark. My team would like to count on more details, so please send us a private message with the full name on the reservation and arrival date, besides the reservation holder's mailing address, email, and phone number. Awaiting your answer.

I was scheduled to stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites Atlantic City North, a property under the Choice Hotels brand, from 7/5 - 7/9. I made this reservation via Hotels.com and had until 7/3 before 4PM to cancel the reservation without penalty. I live in TX - where Hurricane Beryl recently made landfall. Once I realized I was in the direct path of the hurricane, I reached out to Hotels.com to cancel the reservation. I was just a few hours outside of the cancellation window. They reached out to the hotel directly in the hopes of having the cancellation penalty waived given the hurricane...and learned the manager was gone for the day and the front desk clerk wasn't authorized to cancel without penalty. Hotels.com indicated they would call back the next morning to speak with the manager.
The next morning... Hotels.com called again to speak with the manager... Again in an attempt to have the cancellation penalty waived due to Hurricane Beryl...they were told the penalty would not be waived and I would be charged $228.34. On 7/9/2024, I logged into my credit card account only to see that Comfort Inn & Suites charged me for the ENTIRE stay...$640.32. I have attempted to contact the manager of the location with no luck. This is COMPLETELY unacceptable not to mention fraudulent. I did NOT authorize a charge for this amount... only the $228.34. Please note: I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs and the FTC.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand the challenges you faced due to Hurricane Beryl and the urgency of needing to cancel your reservation.
We recognize the exceptional circumstances, so we want to follow up; please send us a private message with the reservation details. Additionally, add your phone number, email, and mailing address. Thanks. -Kathy

Hello, I normally go to an IHG hotel. Everywhere was booked. So, I had to book it with Comfort Inn. I'm sorry I did. I was told it would be just over 300 for the 2 days. To my surprise it was well over 400. Hotel fees over 125 dollars? Really? I've never in my 60 years of hotel stays paid that exorbitant amount in my life. Plus the continental breakfast is shoddy at best. It's the absolute worst I've ever had. Took one bite of those powdered eggs and over cooked sausage if you want to call it that. Trashed it. I've had better meals during Vietnam eating C-rats. The rooms were ok. Just Basic. I will never stay in a comfort inn ever again.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Shepherdsville, Kentucky in January of 2024. Upon arrival and check in I discovered my room had no heat. I went to the front desk and was informed that I could move to a room on the second floor, here comes the problem. I had just had back surgery early in the week and couldn’t climb stairs, the elevator was not working so I had to stay in the room with no heat and 1 extra blanket. I filed a complaint with headquarters and was awarded 20,000 points.
In April I planned a weekend getaway with my wife to Helen, Ga. I called headquarters and made reservations for April 27-29. I asked repeatedly on the phone with the agent about the using the points and was told yes the points would be applied. When I checked in I paid for 2 nights in cash. Well our stay was not good. The pool was closed, the washer and dryer didn’t work, and for the time we were there our room was not cleaned. Front desk people were friendly but knew nothing about the area. Upon check out we were informed our debit card was hit with the charge for the 29th and we would have to call corporate for the refund.
On April 30th, we contacted corporate and started the process for our refund. On May 4th we were informed that the points were not applied because I booked the rooms wrong. Conveniently they found the recording of me making the reservation and said I agreed to pay $150 for the 29th. So now I am out $150 plus tax for a free night's stay. This motel chain is ridiculous to deal with. The people answering the phones for them speak only broken English and are not capable of helping you at all. For over 30 years I have stayed at Raddison owned hotels. Well that is all changing now, I will never stay at another one. I hope they take the money I was charged and get their phone operators English lessons. What is sad is I paid a $100 for a 4 night 5 day stay at a resort they offered me. Needless to say I won’t be using it. I advise everyone to use any hotel except one owned by Raddison, they do not care about customer service or their customers.

I accidently left my expensive leather coat at the Encinitas, CA, Comfort Inn Housekeeping denied keeping it although I know for certain it was there. Even after repeated tries, it was never returned to me! Avoid that company.

If I was able to give a lower number than one I would. We arrived on the 5th of April to the Comfort Inn in Beaufort SC. Upon entering our room there was a cockroach on the wall and remnants of food littered beneath the pull-out couch, which is where my daughter was to sleep. There were revolting stains on the curtains as well. When we went to complain there were no other rooms available. We had to run out quickly at 10:30 pm to find a store open to get supplies in order to sleep in the room. We bought garbage bags for our luggage so no other cockroaches would get in (if there were any more) and also picked up Lysol and bug spray. When we finally got the room debugged in order to finally sleep it was near midnight.
We were then woken by the fire alarm at 12:45 am … because somebody was smoking ** in their room which you could smell throughout the floor. We had to evacuate the building as the Fire Department was on their way to assess the hotel. Finally we got to bed and slept at 2am. Had to get up at 6am for the Marine Graduation. We barely had four hours of sleep after driving 15+ hours to get to SC. The next day after the graduation was complete we got in contact with the general manager of the building, Steven **. Even after all the issues with the food on the floor and bugs in the room they didn’t even clean the room while we were out! Despite voicing our grievances to Steven **, the general manager, our concerns were met with token gestures, a mere $20 discount that hardly covered the expenses we incurred to salvage our stay.
As he said “I can’t give you more money off because you got the early booking rate”. So we already got a discount? He said, "I could give you points towards my membership…" Point towards a stay I will most likely not have in the time allowed for the points to be used, no thanks. He told me I couldn’t use the points for this next day either. He then told us he would ¨let us¨ leave to go find another hotel for our last night's stay. How generous since all hotels were booked for the graduation, that’s why we got it booked so far in advance. Furthermore, the lack of accountability was glaring, with Mr. ** deflecting responsibility and offered minimal recourse. Luckily we were able to switch to a new room for the last night we were there as a few rooms did open up.
I asked to speak to a regional manager… he said there was none. I asked if there was somebody over him I would be able to speak with… he said there was not. So he has the final say on the building… but… he couldn’t give us a bigger discount? Or he was not caring about the customer and just worried about losing $100 or so more. Cheap management or IHG group is cheaping out on customers.
I emailed IHG and have yet to hear back from a few weeks ago. In my four decades of hotel stays, this was the worst stay, marked by sleep deprivation, pest infestation, and blatant disregard for guest welfare. The management’s indifference and reluctance to address our concerns reflect poorly on both Steven ** and the IHG group, raising serious questions about their commitment to customer satisfaction. I implore prospective guests, especially those considering IHG properties, to exercise caution and explore alternative accommodations.
As for Comfort Suites Beaufort, steer clear unless you’re prepared to endure substandard conditions and unresponsive management. In summary, my stay at Comfort Suites Beaufort epitomized a nightmare, underscoring the importance of accountability. IHG was far from a welcoming experience, true hospitality qualities were sorely lacking in this establishment.
We're beyond disappointed to know all the troubles encountered at one of our hotels, Johnny. As one of our guests, you deserve clean accommodations and outstanding service. My team doesn't want to lose this opportunity to look into your case. When time allows, please send us a private message with the full name on the reservation.
