    What is Zenernet solar?

Zenernet’s mission is to accelerate energy independence for all. It aims to make solar power and other forms of energy technology more practical and affordable for more people. Zenernet focuses on transparency, convenience and competitive pricing. The company works with you to give you a comprehensive understanding of the energy you use and how it’s produced and come away with a plan to optimize your energy use for greater savings, efficiency and independence.

    Zenernet financing options

Zenernet offers a variety of financing options for its solar energy products. In some areas, having a Zenernet solar system can also make the owner eligible for net metering, which is a utility billing system that gives the customer credit for excess power that their solar system generates.

Also, customers who own their systems have the option to make improvements as technology advances.

    Zenernet installation

Zenernet’s Preferred Installer Network uses experienced, highly rated local installers to complete its projects, which supports local small businesses and gives the customer a personalized experience. Using Zenernet lets some of your solar investment stays local, and the company manages all processes and scheduling. Zenernet’s installers carry all necessary permits, licenses and insurance policies.

    Zenernet warranties

Zenernet offers comprehensive workmanship warranties in lengths of 10, 20 or 25 years, which lets you choose the coverage level that makes sense for you. We linked to this company through ConsumerAffairs last January 2022. They installed a system on our home in April 2022 without obtaining an approved city permit. They became difficult to communicate with and continued to fail city permit approval. In July 2022 I had to start paying the finance company for the installed system even though the system was not operational. By September I could not get anyone to respond to me through email, phone or text. I contacted the finance company in November 2022 about not paying for a system that was not approved or working. No one ever called me back. On January 23, 2023 I received notification Zenernet filed Chapter 7, bankruptcy. This experience was TERRIBLE!!

I am a senior citizen on a fixed income who was trying to reduce my monthly costs and be proactive in obtaining solar energy. Now I am working with a local solar company trying to gain a city permit so we an apply for our system to be turned on. What a mess! And, I am incurring thousands of dollars in additional cost to make all this happen. I am so disappointed, I can’t even express the stress I have been under. Nightmare!

WARNING!! DO NOT USE ZENERNET FOR YOUR SOLAR PROJECT!!! The sales representatives seem like the most friendly family oriented people while they are getting your contract, but they are con-artists. In December of 2020 I first worked with Greg L. who seemed like my best chum. We had long conversations explaining the project and financial options and finally finalized our 20 panel project with a backup battery system. It sounded wonderful. I gave our $1000 good faith deposit with an understanding that if the project didn't get completed, I would get my funds returned. Then I got pawned off to another sales rep, Bill, in the middle of my project. They took months to get a solar installer, Anka Solar, to finally come to our property to assess our project here in Los Angeles.

Carlos from Anka Solar was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I was very excited to be working with Carlos. We had a new plan to move my pool's thermal panels from one side of my roof to another to get more sun on the solar panels. Greg from Zenernet convinced me I could do the work and we could roll the materials and labor into my financing agreement. I then hired JC Solar to install the new thermal panels on my north facing roof so my south facing roof could get the solar panels and more sun in the winter. JC Solar did a great job and agreed to wait to get paid from Zenernet when the project was complete. Zenernet then dropped the ball on my project with the permits, then Carlos and Anka Solar quit the project. I spoke to Carlos with Anka Solar and he said that Zenernet did not work with good faith. My red flags went up!!

I tried numerous times to follow up with Zenernet and got pawned off to one rep after another. Then my first rep, Greg, came back and told me my paperwork for financing wasn't processed correctly and I had to start the process over again. Meanwhile the company for the thermal panels is waiting to get paid and calling me every other week! Zenernet took weeks to find a new solar installer and then they never coordinated with me for their consultation. One day, out of the blue, somebody arrives at my home and informs me that they are my new installer and the entire project is essentially starting from scratch. I was dumbfounded. This is not the way I'm used to doing business. I called JC Solar and told them I would pay them out of pocket so they wouldn't have to wait any longer to get paid by Zenernet. I then called Zenernet to cancel our project.

Greg replied in an email that he would get me my $1000 deposit back, but that was October 14, 2022. Since then no one replies to my emails, no real person answers the phone. I can only leave messages and no one returns my phone calls. It's Nov. 28, 2022 almost exactly 2 years since my project started. This solar project has been a complete nightmare with Zenernet. I just wanted my deposit back and go my way with another company. A company that isn't a 3rd party broker and a company that doesn't require a $1000 deposit...I wish I read Consumer Affairs first before I went with Zenernet. I would have chosen much more wisely. I'm not one to write bad reviews, but this company leaves me no choice when they steal my money and do shady business dealings.

BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! My customer service and rep were great in the beginning. We met In July 2022 and by August 11th, 2022, my system was installed. I was scheduled to have my system inspected to be "turned on" early September. They never came, no one called. Fast forward to today, November 9, 2022, No one still has come out to inspect my system so that it can be "turned on," and I have called every number I have for Zenernet and no one has answered or called me back. I have sent several emails to everyone even the CEO and NOTHING. To make matters worse, a mechanic's lien has been put on my home from their distributor for non-payment from Zenernet!! When I called the distributor they said they have been calling Zenernet for weeks for all of their projects that are unpaid and have not gotten ANYONE! I hope this can be resolved swiftly and without legal interventions so that I can update my review.

We got the solar panels through Zenernet based on the reviews. Everything was ok until the panels were turned on and we started making monthly payments. The app has been showing gateway errors since the day one of assumed production. We kept calling, emailing, escalating within customer service department - no response. We finally got a service call scheduled but no one called during the promised time. Feels like a bait and switch, Zenernet. It's been over a month that we don't know if our solar panels are producing anything or work at all. If you have not gotten the panels yet, Zenernet is NOT YOUR COMPANY.

The sales process is the only process that went well. That's how they get you in. Every step of the way after sales process there have been mistakes and a horrible experience. The first mistake came from the engineering department. The engineers came up with a solar design that was more efficient with less panels I needed than other companies I researched. That design was flawed, and it turned out I needed more panels due to unforseen pipes from the satellite image. If they would have sent people to my home, this could have been avoided. I should have pulled out then, but I continued.

Things went smoothly for the next month or so while in the planning phase. Once it was time for install, that's when all hell broke loose. I requested to have Zenernet installers install the panels and not a third party. My thinking was if something went wrong, I didn't want the third party thing to be an issue. I had a team of installers show up to my home without notice. This team was asking where the panels were and if they could look in my garage for panels. We sent them away and I started calling and emailing everyone I had contact info for. Someone in management responded and said it was an error and scheduled an install date. That's where the next mistake happened.

When it was time for our install, no one showed up. By this time we have a project manager and got her on it. I kept on having to go back and forth with her about getting a new date scheduled. Finally several weeks late we got panels installed. That's when the next problem arose. The installers, who were actually cool people, didn't installation the panels according to plan because they said there is no way the plan would fit. Due to moving more panels to side of house that doesn't get as much sun, Zenernet owed me 2 extra panels to get the same production. Needless to say, we failed inspection. It took months to get to the point where an inspector would come out after install.

Essentially we had to start the process all over again. In the meantime, we went through several project managers. The first one was absolutely horrible. She would not return calls and just flat out ignore us. I had to call her from a number she didn't recognize for her to answer. Other project managers did a better job of communicating, but I still got the run around. My wife and I made it our mission to continuously email and call to stay on them. Without our persistence, we would have been ignored. The installation manager was the worse. He would miss appointments, lie, and ignore us as well.

Finally after months of resubmitting plans and adding the panels that were owed, my system past inspection. That's when another issue arose. My electric company gave us permission to operate almost 2 weeks ago. My inverter for some reason is not connecting. The manager in charge of this process said they need a tech to come out. I've called, text, left messages and still no update. The absolute last step and still can't work.

My reason for getting solar was because of impending purchase of 2 electric vehicles. The panels was was supposed to be installed months before the cars arrived. This process has taken so long, both cars are here and my electric bill has almost tripped. I'm currently paying solar and electric bills. Through persistence we got Zenernet to pay our solar bills. Since our electric bill is so much, we are still down hundreds of dollars. Since we've had permission to operate, our system is not producing anything, so I'm losing on that end as well. I started this process the end of December 2021. It is now the end of October 2022 and process still not done. Do not go anywhere near this company, you have been warned.

Please avoid a headache of having to hound this company from the sales guy Daniel ** who tells you to put a good review on your first consult, project manager, project coordinator. They installed my solar system and they failed to install the import, export, and consumption meter so PG&E is not receiving consumption even though I got permission to operate since May. They sent the parts over 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting for a tech to come and install them. Not to mention they have not sent me a check for all of the months that I have been paying PG&E. I have been hounding every single person that I have their number and they ignore and ghost the customer. Daniel lied about holding the customers hand and have a great experience. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Please avoid this company.
