Elevation panels and equipment

Elevation offers a wide variety of solar panels and other equipment from trusted brands. The company offers products from brands including Panasonic, Enphase, Tesla, REC and Qcells.

Elevation installation

The company website does not provide much information on the installation process. According to Elevation, installation crews work with you every step of the way, and most installations only take one day.

Solar companies typically perform an on-site evaluation before creating a customized quote for your solar energy system. This quote should include a plan for the parts and equipment your system will use as well as information about financing options. This part of the process is a good time to ask questions about your installation, like whether the company files necessary permit documentation for you.

Elevation costs

Elevation doesn’t list pricing information on its website. Its costs depend on several factors, like system type, your home’s size and whether or not you claim the federal solar tax credit.

On average, it costs about $17,000 to $24,000 to install solar panels (after the federal tax credit).

Elevation warranty

Elevation offers product warranties that go beyond the standard warranties provided by manufacturers. This option includes Solar Insure Component Monitoring and Warranty, which covers defects to the solar system, roof penetration within 3 inches of the solar roof attachment and related labor costs.

The company also provides a lifetime workmanship warranty on its systems and a 10-year workmanship warranty for roof penetrations.

I would not recommend using Elevation Solar, we were sold on a larger than needed system so that we would not have a power bill. After months of promises and failed permits they finally delivered on a system that only worked for 11 months of the four years we've owned it. It's been nothing but going back and forth problems with their faulty installation and terrible customer service. To make things better they blew some insulation in our attic but we still have a full-blown power bill plus a solar bill every month so we could have paid for this 10 times over on our own. When you then when you call and try to complain upwards you get the runaround and no call backs.

I am at the point where I'm finally just Consulting an attorney. 68,000 solar system that has not worked even a quarter of the time. Not to mention we had a brand new roof put on prior to the solar install so we were out a lot of money. Total frustration is all you will receive if you use this company. This is an honest review as well as most of the one-star reviews. Look at the Better Business Bureau website. 14 or 15 pages of complaints all saying the same thing. Failed promises, delayed installs and lack of craftsmanship.

      Reviewed Sept. 15, 2023

I had a highly frustrating experience with Elevation Solar's customer service. After the installation of solar panels, several vents were damaged. The repair process was a never-ending ordeal. First, they promised to fix the vents on the installation day, but ended up breaking another one. Later, they said the repair would be done during the final inspection, leaving me unsure if they had damaged my roof and failed to inform me.

Communication was abysmal. The supervisor kept changing their commitment, and there was no way to reach out to management personnel. Emails requesting updates were left unanswered. I'm considering hiring a roof inspector to assess potential damage. I strongly urge caution if you plan to work with Elevation Solar, and advise documenting everything for your own protection.

      Installation & Setup

      Reviewed Aug. 2, 2023

It took Elevation 4 months to install my panels and 12 months to actually activate them. Meanwhile I have been getting charged the monthly loan fee since install, on top of 100% of my APS bill. They said they’d refund me the unused 8-month gap, that never happened. During the 12 month waiting period, every employee that “managed” my case started from scratch at every engagement as if they keep zero account notes. Good thing I spent $30k with them.... Decent hardware and warranty, but maybe the most illiterate staff I’ve ever encountered across any B2C engagement. It was almost like the movie Idiocracy if it took place in a business, wild wild stuff.

Elevation installed the highest quality panels available. The process from start to finish was about 6 months which is fast in California. They were attentive and helpful all the way. My system is working at 100 percent.

I find it challenging to believe that this company has a 4.5 rating on this site. The lack of integrity displayed by the Salesperson and Management is appalling. Our Sales representative, Joe **, assured us that he would remain with us throughout the process and that the solar loan would not begin until after the installation was signed off. However, Joe disappeared after signing the paperwork, and two months after Elevation received the money from the Loan company, the solar loan payback started and the panels were not even on the roof. During those two months, we could not check our account to monitor payments, and we were charged interest on the loan. Once the panels were installed, the installers left out a crucial component, which would become a significant problem.

The biggest problem with this company is the absence of communication. Our panels sat on our roof for almost six months because Elevation submitted inaccurate information. The company promised a "concierge" to assist with the process, but after Kassie ** was promoted, she stopped responding to our emails. We went through twenty customer service representatives (Jeff **, Mers, Devon, Christian, Michelle **, Amanda **, Jake, Araxy ** and many others that we didn’t get the names written down), none of whom could solve the problem.

We finally spoke to a manager named Karen **, who promised to address the issue, including reimbursing us for our electric bill while waiting for the panels to be operational. After a month passed with no action, we talked to Alex **, who assured us that he would take care of everything and even gave us his personal cell number. He promised to reimburse us for the loan payments, which we had to pay while waiting for the system to become operational.

After over seven months, we finally received approval from the energy company, but because the component was left off in the initial installation, we had to wait another 3 weeks for an electrician to be dispatched. We requested a phone call to notify us when the electrician would arrive, but we never received it. Fortunately, electrician Skye, who had requested that we be given a call before he came out, was frustrated with the lack of communication we had been dealing with and took it upon himself to paint the parts required to meet the HOA agreement Elevation had signed.

The electrician gave me Debbie **’s name in the hope she would become the point of contact to resolve the issues we had been experiencing, and help with the so called reimbursement; but the reimbursement process has been slow to non-existent. We have made many attempts to contact the company regarding this matter with no response. In the first week of March 2023 we were told that the reimbursement was “approved” on Feb 8th and that I would be getting it “soon”. As of this post (May15) we have not received a check or any information on where it is other than “I’ll let the escalation team know”. Debbie’s supervisor, Modesto, came out to talk to me about the issues I had been having and to let me know that the reimbursement was “approved”, but again, nothing has been done. It’s all talk.

I strongly advise everyone to steer clear of this company. They have demonstrated their incompetency time and again. Despite all the challenges, the system is now operational and functional, but the process took way too long due to the incompetence displayed by several people in the company. The entire process (without any promised reimbursement) took from May 2022 to January 2023. In that time, 3 other houses in our neighborhood had their solar installed within 3 months of them signing the contract. And the delay in all of this was simply that Elevation was unable to put in the proper paperwork to the electrical company. No other delays or problems, they just couldn’t do that one thing. HOW can I trust that this company will stand by any of their “guarantees” if they can not do some of the most basic things? Most of this could have been solved by a simple SPREADSHEET that all of their employees could access and update. That and clearly communicating with the customer!

We worked with Elevation for our solar solution in 2019. We purchased 34 panels using the SolarEdge string solution, which Elevation strongly recommended and assured us they would support, maintain and expand for at least ten years. Unfortunately, I have been working with them over the past last month, and they will NOT expand my current system and the only offer they have is to add an additional microinverter system, and not for a reasonable price.

I have discovered that those who work with this company will tell you whatever they need to make the sale and in the future (very short future, that is, we haven't even had ours four years) leave you hanging even though they assure you they will not. I recommend finding another local company that will stand behind what they say and work with you as your system ages.

I just purchased my solar panels from Elevation this past summer. Overall, I would highly recommend them. I was told upfront that solar is a construction project, so there might be some unforeseen delays that were dependent upon potentially having to upgrade our main panel. I appreciate how they set the correct expectation, and I felt like I was being "sold" by other companies promising the moon and more. Found out that all solar companies deal with the same supply chain issues. The work might take a little longer, but I feel good KNOWING IT'S done right! They have a complete protection package that covers the system itself for the lifetime and they also have a deal with EnergyStar and ASU which I thought was pretty cool. I'm about to get activated next week, but I have been blown away at their approach to my solar project.

Very very unorganized company. Salespeople do not return your calls as soon as you have paid. The service department does not talk to the concierge department. I've been waiting for a part for 8 months now. That was supposed to be delivered 2 months after I initially called. Service department was dispatched and sent out 1 technician that was not qualified, and then 2 more times the technician had no idea why they were at my residence. Jeff **, from the concierge department, has promised a call back or an email and it has now been about 2 months since I've heard from him. I'm sure this company is good at two things, taking your money and forgetting about their customers. Thanks Eric ** for selling me the system and the entire concierge department for failing me.

Every sales rep sells the same thing, but they do their own installations and I feel secure knowing they have headquarters/offices in several states. My neighbor bought a system from a company that is no longer in business and I like how Elevation offers a complete protection package. They are backed by insurance which gives me peace of mind.

I decided to install solar and after talking to a few companies went with Elevation due to their good reviews. My experience has not matched others. I agreed to install in April, they sent the wrong paperwork to the City of Fort Worth which delayed the install until end of August, then final inspections from the city were mid September. System went live 3rd week in September, 6 months after agreeing to proceed. One week after they were live, one of my panels failed, it took me multiple emails and phone calls to get any support. They eventually sent out a technician who confirmed that the inverter was damaged and needed to be replaced. This was the 2nd week in October.

As of today 9th December they have still not fixed this broken panel, as three weeks ago after 4 emails, and 4 phone calls they sent a tech out to fix it, but my roof was too steep for one person to fix on their own (Please note they installed the panels and the gradient of the roof was in the all the paperwork). After another week I called them for an update on the repair, they couldn't provide any as they don't have enough technicians in TX (BTW - They are still selling and installing).

I then received a call that they will fix the panel on 12/12 - This is 10 weeks after I reported the problem and numerous calls and emails. As it is still not fixed, I can't be certain that it will be fixed on 12/12, but I would caution anybody who decided to purchase from Elevation for solar, that if you have a problem it will likely take a long time to fix. Based on my experiences so far, I would not recommend them and would tell people to look elsewhere.
