Consumer Complaints and Reviews
Every time there is sale which pretty much starts every Sunday, they never have all of the items that they advertise on their sales circular and I am always told besides other customers to back on Wednesday, they "MAY" have the items then. Are they for real? How ridiculous is that as a business, you tell your customers, "not now, come back later!" As hard as it is to maintain employment in order to buy food that's the last thing a person needs.
I purchased $340 of lotto (powerball) tickets and was charged $350. I was overcharged $10. I asked why? The man behind the counter said because that's what the bank charges them for the transaction because I paid with my ATM card. I told him that I was not going to pay a $10 fee, he said that he could not cancel the lotto tickets anymore. I put my pin and paid the $350. When I get my receipt, it shows that I did a $10 sale and got $340 cashback. It does not say that I made a lotto purchase. When I do these transactions at seven eleven, the receipt does say lotto sale. I think this is fraud, they are charging whatever they want for ATM transactions. They need to be stopped and I need my $10 back.
I ask the cashier why was she charging me so much tax for food. She said all soda have tax and that 18 cent was tax for the soda along with the 5 cents deposit tax. I left, this not the first time I have a problem with them. They tax each item as they ring up the item and then tax again at the end of the total.
We stopped by today to pick up a chicken to cook for dinner. Once we got home, five minutes later, we remove the plastic wrapping on the chicken, and discover a foul smell. The chicken was rotten. We returned it to the supermarket for a refund, but they were unapologetic and didn't seem to care that they were selling rotten meat. They told me I could take another chicken. I was furious. If one is spoiled, they probably all are. I can't trust them anymore. They are selling rotten food, and someone is going to get sick.
The weekly ad always has another picture of the good items but are actually selling something else. I asked my daughter to drive me to pick up the juice that I can only tolerate & drink daily due to a medical condition. Yesterday, Wednesday, February 8th, 2012 between 5:30 & 6 pm I went to buy the plastic container of Tropicana Juice 59 oz bottle which the ad says 2 for $5. Before taking the bottles of juice I asked the person whom stocks the juice area & he said that it was the juice on sale. When the cashier scans the juice it says 2 for $7. I told the cashier & show her the ad so she calls the manager. He said that it was the carton & not the plastic bottles. I told him that I was really tired of all the false advertisement because it wasn't the 1st time. He said that it says it very clear in small letter that not even people with a magnifier can see.
I told him that it was false advertisement & that I would report it. He said that he didn't care because there's nothing anyone can do about the prices they want to charge. I didn't want to leave the store until he gave it to me at the price in the ad because the supermarket made me go all the way to the supermarket. He did give me the juice for the price in the ad. But, something & someone has to put a stop to this because it's making the peoples go out of their way for something they want & thought they were going to get. And they also don't change the prices on the items on sale because the lady in front of me had a big amount of groceries & the prices were not scanning correctly. I have my receipt & ad to prove it...................

I went into the store to do my weekly grocery shopping, and I purchase the danonino yogurt that I purchase every 2 weeks for my 2 yr old daughter. Now at the cashier I presented the coupon to the cashier (keila), I was told that they do not accept my coupon, which I used at this location in the past. The cashier told me that the only type of coupon that the store accepts were the ones from the magazines. She stated that my coupon could have been a copy. Mind you there's a website online that consumers can go to get coupons to purchase grocery, and danonino have the option for customers to do so. Now I was really upset, because I'M a very good customer at this store, when I asked to speak to the manager on duty at the time (Luis **) I was told he was out to lunch. I've already contacted danonino to let them know about this supermarket, and now I'M letting you know. I mean my coupon was only for a dollar, but it's not about the amount, it's the principle. Thank you for your time in this matter.
Always have attitudes. Never helpful, prices over charge. Products that are on sale never change. Ask for help or why is things different than what they say. Never get answer. Never can find the manager on call. One time I asked for a delivery, cashier said "for li'l **, you want a delivery." The reason why is I'm 7 months pregnant. Couldn't carry 6 bottles of 3 liters sodas, a glass of milk and some meat. They refuse me. The store is NEVER organized, never clean. Always messy freezer has ice hanging off the doors. Meat looks like it's old, the store turns your stomach. I can't understand in this neighborhood you have 3 Pioneer stores, all have different prices. I'm a mother of 12 children, and I have to go to the Norwood area to buy my food. Just able to make it for my household.
On 9/14 @ 1:00pm I had a coupon to get a free single roll of Marcal tissue or a dollar off Marcal paper towel. When the cashier rung it up she then tell me her mngr told her that I have to buy 2 tissue rolls in order to get 1.00 off. I told her I had an option and she didn't want to hear what I have to say, so I asked to speak to her manager. She then told me that he was not in today. So I ask to speak to someone in charge. She then started speaking Spanish to an older Hispanic man. They talk back and forth in Spanish. Then I asked what he said and she said he is not taking the coupon. Not one time this acting manager spoke to me. They refuse to accept a manufacturer coupon and no management staff dealt with this situation. Lastly the cashier refused to give me her name.
I had a stomach virus as well as my daughter after eating a cantaloupe purchased from Pioneer supermarket on 724 Wast 161 Street in the Bronx. We ate the fruit on Saturday afternoon and threw up later that evening. I was not able to leave my house until Monday because I was incapacitated and weak from throwing up. I then went to the store and asked to speak to the manager. I brought the cantaloupe back as well as the receipt. I then ask to have my money back. He told me he would not return the money because I ate some of the cantaloupe. I then told him that if he did not return my money, I would report him to the FDA and BBB. He said go ahead! I then took the cantaloupe and receipt out the store.
The manager of the store was very nasty to me. He is selling rotten fruits and other foods. I would like to have his store inspected and fined for his unsanitary handling of his food products. I would also like to have him reimburse me for the fruit $2.00 and give me an apology for his unsympathetic behavior. The main reason why I am pursuing this is the principle of the matter. You do not care about your customer. You think you can sell contaminated food products and get away with because it is a poor neighborhood!!!
