Vita Food Products recalls Vita Wild Herring in Wine Sauce

The product may contain milk, an allergen not declared on the label

Vita Food Products of Chicago, Ill., is recalling up to 8,376 individual plastic jars of Vita Wild Herring in Wine sauce.

The product may contain sour cream and, therefore, may contain milk, an allergen not declared on the label.

No illnesses are reported to date.

The product was sent to retailers nationally beginning on January 13, 2020.

The following single lot of the product, with the Best if used before date of JUN 26 20 and lot number 03609 on the backside of the jar at the bottom of the label, is being recalled:

The recalled product was shipped to retailers nationally beginning on January 13, 2020.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled product should not consume it.
