The product contains Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens

Vi-Jon is recalling one lot of CVS Magnesium Citrate Saline Laxative Oral Solution Lemon Flavor.

The product contains Gluconacetobacter liquefaciens, a bacterium that could put immunocompromised people at an increased risk for invasive infections that could lead to serious, life-threatening, and adverse health consequences.

No consumer complaints have been received to date.

The product, which is used to relieve occasional constipation, comes in a 10-oz. clear round plastic bottle under batch number 0556808 and expiration date 12/2023. It was sold at CVS drug stores nationwide.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled product should stop using and return it to the place of purchase.
