The passenger airbag may not deploy correctly

Tesla is recalling 29,348 model year 2021-2023 Model X cars.

The restraint control module (RCM) calibration may cause the front passenger airbag to deploy incorrectly in certain low speed crashes.

If the passenger airbag that does not deploy as intended, the risk of in a crash increases.

What to do

The automaker has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update to recalibrate the RCM free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 14, 2023.
