Photo source: Advance Auto PartsTenneco Automotive (DRiV) is recalling 6,478 aftermarket ball joints for model year 2004-2007 Toyota Sequoias and model year 2004-2006 Toyota Tundra. It affects MOOG part number K80521 and K80522; NAPA part number NCP2601633 and NCP2601634; and ACDelco part number 45D2344 and 45D2345.
The ball joint housing may have inadequate hardness, causing premature failure. A ball joint failure may cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Dealers will inspect and replace the ball joint -- as necessary -- free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by March 7, 2022.
