Save-On-Foods recalls O/W ahi tuna products

The products contain elevated levels of histamine

Save-On-Foods is recalling certain O/W Ahi Tuna products containing elevated levels of histamine.

High levels of histamine in fish can cause an allergic-type reaction known as scombroid poisoning. Symptoms can include burning throat, diarrhea, dizziness, facial swelling, headache, vomiting and peppery taste in mouth.

No reactions have been reported.

The following products, sold in Canada's Alberta and British Columbia provinces are being recalled:

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but discard or return them to the store where purchased.

Consumers with questions nay contact the company at (800) 242-9229 Monday -- Thursday from 6am -- 8pm (PST), and Friday, Saturday, Sunday & holidays 6am -- 6pm (PST).
