Ruiz Foods Products recalls bacon breakfast wraps

Ruiz Foods Products of Denison, Texas, is recalling approximately 246,514 pounds of frozen, not ready-to-eat (NRTE) breakfast wraps containing bacon.

The products may be contaminated with extraneous materials -- specifically small rocks.

The company has received one report of a potential injury associated with the consumption of this product.

The following frozen items, produced on January 17 – 18, 2019, are being recalled:

  • 8-Pack family size film packages containing “EL MONTEREY EGG, POTATO, BACON & CHEESE SAUCE BREAKFAST WRAPS” with “Best if Used By” dates of 01/17/2020 and 01/18/2020 and lot codes 19017 and 19018.

The recalled products, bearing establishment number “EST. 17523A” on the back of the package, were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but discard or return them to the place of purchase.
