Photo source: PorschePorsche Cars North America is recalling 17,667 model year 2017-2018 Porsche Panameras, Panamera 4s, Panamera 4Ss, Panamera Turbos, Panamera 4S Executives, Panamera Turbo Executives, and model year 2018 Panamera 4 Executives, Panamera 4 E-Hybrids, Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrids, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executives, Panamera S E-Hybrid Executives, Panamera 4 Sport Turismos, Panamera 4S Sport Turismos, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismos, Panamera Turbo Sport Turismos, and Panamera Turbo S Sport Turismos.
A software failure may result in an intermittent loss of electric power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash.
What to do
Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the power steering control unit, free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin February 17, 2019.
