Porsche recalls Carrera, 911, Panamera and Taycan vehicles

The seat belt locking retractor may malfunction

Porsche Cars North America is recalling 4,924 of the following vehicles:

  • Model year 2021 911 Carrera Coupes, 911 Carrera S Coupes, 911 Carrera 4 Coupes, 911 Carrera 4S Coupes, 911 Turbo Coupes, 911 Turbo S Coupes, Panameras, Panamera 4 E-Hybrids, Panamera 4Ss, Panamera GTSs, Panamera Turbo Ss, Taycans, Taycan 4Ss, Taycan Turbos, and Taycan Turbo Ss.

The seat belt automatic locking retractors may deactivate early, which can prevent the child restraint system from securing properly.

An unsecured child restraint system can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

What to do

Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assemblies -- as necessary – free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 1, 2021.
