Otten's Seafood recalls catfish

Otten’s Seafood of Tinley Park, Ill., is recalling approximately 46,804 pounds of catfish.

The products did not undergo federal inspection.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.

The following fresh and frozen items, produced from January 25, 2021, through May 21, 2021, are being recalled:

  • 30-lb. plastic bags and cardboard boxes containing “IQF Frozen Catfish Steaks Net Weight 30.00 LB” and have a shelf-life of one year.
  • 30-lb. plastic bags and cardboard boxes containing “40 + Oz Fresh Catfish Whole Net Weight 30.00 LB” and have a shelf-life of one week if not frozen.

The recalls products were shipped to wholesale and retail locations in Illinois and Indiana.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but discard or return them to the place of purchase.
