Nearly 55,000 boxes of tea are recalled due to pesticide residue

Excessive residue has led to the recall of nearly 55,000 boxes of Organic Yogi Echinacea Immune Support tea - East West Tea

The tea was distributed through nationwide retailers

The East West Tea Company of Eugene, Ore., has issued a recall of nearly 55,000 boxes of Yogi Immune Support tea bags because of pesticide residue that exceeds acceptable levels. The tea was distributed nationwide.

Specifically, the recalled tea bags are in 16-count boxes of Organic Yogi Echinacea Immune Support tea. The recalled boxes bear the code UPC 0 76950 45010 3.

In an enforcement report, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) listed the following lot codes:
