Hyundai Motor America is recalling 44,396 model year 2018 Santa Fe Sport vehicles, expanding the recall issued earlier this year.
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module could malfunction and cause an electrical short, which could result in a fire in the engine compartment while the vehicle is parked or being driven.
A fire in either case poses the risk of an injury.
What to do
Owners should park their vehicle outside and away from structures until it has been repaired.
Dealers will replace the ABS multi-fuse free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 26, 2022.
Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at (855) 371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 237.
