The approach of fall signals harvest time and for many consumers that means canning what they've grown to enjoy later in the year.
Just in time, LEM Products Distribution of West Chester, Ohio, is recalling about 15,900 Roots & Harvest Wide Mouth Pint Canning Jars
Pieces of glass may be found in some of the recalled jars, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.
No incidents or injuries have been reported so far.
This recall involves Wide Mouth Pint Canning Jars sold in 12-packs in a cardboard sleeve shrink wrapped in clear plastic.
The jars are clear glass with the Roots & Harvest brand molded on each jar and have a metal lid and screw on type band.
The jars are used for canning food.
The canning jars, manufactured in India, were sold at Orscheln Farm & Home stores in the Midwest during July 2022 for about $17.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled jars and contact LEM to receive a full refund.
LEM will provide a return shipping container free of charge and a prepaid return label.
The company is assisting in contacting all known purchasers, and Orscheln Farm & Home is contacting known purchasers directly.
