The company says the product could get so hot that it catches on fire

Lightform has recalled around 1,600 of its LF2 and LF2+ Projectors because the fans can malfunction, causing the unit to overheat. If left unchecked, this could cause the projectors to get so hot that they catch on fire.

The projectors were sold online at Lightform’s website and on Amazon from March 2020, through August 2021. The company has received 16 reports of the projectors overheating so far, but no injuries or property damage has been reported.

What to do

Consumers who own one of the recalled projectors are being urged to stop using them immediately and contact the company so that a free software update can be applied. Lightform said that it is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Consumers can call Lightform at 855-242-5066 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (PT), Monday through Friday, or visit the company’s website here for more information.
