The seat belt may not lock

Land Rover is recalling 14,812 model year 2016-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles.

The driver's seat belt emergency locking retractor may not lock as intended.

During hard braking before a crash, the seat belt emergency locking retractor may not lock as intended, increasing the risk of injury.

What to do

Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt assembly -- as necessary -- free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 3, 2022.
