Harbor Freight Tools is recalling 118,000 pairs of Pittsburg Automotive Three Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands, SKU number 56373.

The jack stand base seam weld may fail under load, allowing the stand to drop suddenly, increasing the risk of injury to people near or under a lifted vehicle.

What to do

Owners should immediately discontinue use of the jack stands for safety concerns.

Harbor Freight emailed all known customers on July 7, 2020, but has not yet provided the date that they will mail customers a notification letter.

Stores will provide, in exchange for return of the jack stands, a gift card equal to the shelf price of the jack stands plus 20% free of charge.

Owners may contact Harbor Freight customer service at (800) 444-3353 or by email at Recalls@HarborFreight.com.
