General Motors is recalling 95,231 model year 2020-2021 Cadillac XT5s & XT6s, and GMC Acadias equipped with the optional Surround Vision feature.
The coaxial cable connectors for the rearview camera may have been crimped improperly, causing the camera to fail or function intermittently.
A rearview camera that doesn't work as intended can reduce the driver's rear visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
GM has recalled more than 2 million vehicles this far in 2022
What to do
Dealers will replace the coaxial cables free of charge.
GM will mail letters notifying owners of the safety risk around November 7, 2022, and send a second letter once the remedy is available.
Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at (800) 458-8006 or GMC customer service at (800) 462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N222378380.
