Bumble Bee recalls smoked clams

The product contains chemicals that could harm consumers

Bumble Bee Foods is recalling 3.75-oz. cans of smoked clams.

Testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found detectable levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) chemicals, a diverse group of human-made chemicals that may cause increased cholesterol levels, increases in high blood pressure, and preeclampsia in pregnant women.

There have been no reports of illnesses to date

The recalled product, with the UPC Label 8660075234, was sold nationwide by a limited number of retailers.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled product should not consume it. Instead, they're advised to discard it.
