Belle Chemical recalls Sodium Hydroxide and Potassium Hydroxide

The products do not meet child-resistant packaging requirements

Bell Chemical of Billings, Mont., is recalling about 9,196 packages of Sodium Hydroxide and Potassium hydroxide packaged in zip closure bags.

The products do not meet the labeling and child-resistant packaging requirements for corrosive chemicals required by Canada's Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations.

There are no reports of incidents or injuries.

The following products, sold from May, 2018, to May, 2020, throughout Canada, are being recalled:

  • Belle Chemical Sodium Hydroxide packaged in white bag with zip closure, UPC: 864698000342. SKU: CA-LYE-16.
  • Belle Chemical Potassium Hydroxide packaged in black bag with zip closure, UPC: 857329007162, SKU: N4-9OV8-1ZYL.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not use them, and contact Belle Chemical to receive a container with a child resistant closure.
