Basic Grain Products recalls caramel rice cakes

Basic Grain Products of Coldwater, Ohio, is recalling Kroger and Stop & Shop brand’s Caramel Rice Cakes.

The products may contain milk, an allergen not declared on the label.

There have been no reports of illness to date.

The following two lots of the products, which come in a 6.5-oz bag with a Best if Used By or Best Before date (also the Lot Code) located on the plastic Kwik Lok tag at the top of the bag, are being recalled:

  • Kroger Caramel Rice Cakes, UPC 0 11110 35792 2, Best if Used By dates DEC1521 and DEC1621, shipped to retail distribution centers in Colorado, Indiana and Kansas.
  • Stop & Shop Caramel Rice Cakes, UPC 6 88267 07615 2, Best Before date DEC1521, shipped to retail distribution centers in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

What to do

Customers with a milk allergy or sensitivity who purchased the recalled affected product should not consume it, but discard or return it to the place of purchase.
