American Screening recalls hand sanitizer

Some of the products' bottles resemble beverage containers

American Screening of Shreveport, La., is recalling 153,336 units of hand sanitizer.

The product is packaged in 8-oz. containers that resemble water bottles, posing a risk of consumption.

The firm has not received any reports of adverse events to date.

The recalled products -- with lots including expiration dates of 5/21/2022 and 05/24/2022 for black capped bottles, and no lot numbers or expiration dates for clear capped bottles with UPC 8 4005051579 2 -- were sold to customers and distributors nationwide on the internet and via in-house sales.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled product should stop using it and discard or return it to the place of purchase.
