    Juratoys recalls children’s activity tables

    The table's silver metal bell can detach from its metal arch

    Juratoys US of Bloomingdale, Ill., is recalling about 5,200 Janod Sweet Cocoon Activity Tables sold in the U.S., and Canada.

    The activity table contains a silver metal bell which can detach from its metal arch, posing a choking hazard to young children.

    No incidents or injuries are reported.

    This recall involves two models of Janod Sweet Cocoon Activity Tables for children 12 months and older.

    The rounded triangle wooden tables measure about 21 inches wide and 18 inches high. The toys on the table are made of wood and metal.

    The round table measures about 22 inches in diameter. The tables are multicolored with gray, pink, blue and white. The tabletop activities include a grooved track for vehicle play, a bell arch, a bead and wire maze, a shape sorter, gear activity and stacking activity.

    The model number J04402 or J04411 can be found on a label on the underside of the activity table.

    The activity tables, manufactured in China, were sold at Nordstrom and Crate and Barrel stores nationwide, online at Amazon.com, Maisonnette.com, Nordstrom.com, and CrateandBarrel.com and at other specialty toy, gift and books stores nationwide and in catalogs from February 2020, through December 2022, for between $65 and $83.

    What to do

    Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled activity tables and contact Juratoys for a free repair kit.

    Baby Trend recalls 2,600 child seats

    The seat may not restrain a child properly

    Baby Trend is recalling 2,600 Hybrid 3-in-1 Combination Booster Seat-Desert Blue child seats.

    The latch assembly webbing that secures the child restraint system to the lower anchorages may fray, which can reduce the strength of the webbing and fail to restrain a child properly in a crash.

    A child seat that fails to properly restrain a child increases the risk of injury in a crash.

    What to do

    Baby Trend will mail owners a replacement latch assembly webbing and installation instructions free of charge.

    Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 30, 2023.

    The Good and the Beautiful recalls Math 1 and Math 3 boxes

    The whiteboard can become detached from the boxes, exposing sharp edges

    The Good and the Beautiful of Lehi, Utah, is recalling about 105,000 Math 1 and Math 3 boxes with metallic whiteboards sold in the U.S., and Canada.

    The whiteboard attached to the boxes can become detached exposing sharp edges, posing a laceration hazard.

    There have been four reports of the boxes detaching each resulting in minor lacerations.

    This recall involves The Good and the Beautiful Math 1 and Math 3 boxes with metallic whiteboards.

    The boxes include lids with attached metallic whiteboards and labeled Math 1 or Math 3 on the lids, bottom, left side and right side.

    The Math 1 Box measures about 9 inches square and the Math 3 Box measures about 7 inches square.

    The Math Boxes, manufactured in China, were sold at The Good and the Beautiful store in Lehi, Utah, and online at www.goodandbeautiful.com from August 2021, through November 2022, for between $25 and $29.

    What to do

    Consumers should immediately take the recalled whiteboards away from children, discard them and contact The Good and the Beautiful to receive a free non-metallic replacement.       The first-row seat belt latch plates may be difficult to access from their stowed position.

      Difficulty accessing the seat belt latches may result in occupants not wearing their seat belts, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

      What to do

      Dealers will add a sliding clip latch stop to the driver and front passenger seat belts, free of charge.

      The recalled product, which comes in a 14-oz reddish brown package with black lettering on the cup and lid and is marked with lot number 23P102 and(Best By Date April 12, 2025, was sold in retail stores nationwide.

      What to do

      Customers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts who purchased the recalled product should not consume it, but return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

      The power cord can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

      Kell Electronic USA of Houston, Texas, is recalling about 25,000 Personal Chiller Mini Fridge Gamer Beverage Refrigerators with LED lights.

      The refrigerator’s power cord can overheat, posing a burn hazard.

      The firm has received six reports of the power cord overheating. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Personal Chiller Mini Fridge Gamer Beverage Refrigerators with LED lights.

      They have a matte black finish exterior, lighted LED door and a remote control that has mood lighting effects.

      The LED lights were sold in red and blue colors.

      Model number K1000BK is on the back of the refrigerator.

      The refrigerators are 15.7 inches tall, 11.7 inches deep and 8.5 inches wide.

      The refrigerators, manufactured in China, were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com as well as secondhand stores and websites from September 2022, through January 2023, for about $60.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled refrigerator and contact Kell Electronic to receive a full refund or a replacement cord.

      Once unplugged, the firm is asking consumers to use scissors to cut the cord, take a photo of the cut cordand submit the photo to the firm to receive the full refund or replacement cord.

      GM recalls 668,000 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles

      The child seat anchors may not function, increasing the injury risk in a crash

      General Motors is recalling 668,187 model year 2020-2023 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles.

      The four rear-seat lower child seat LATCH anchorage bars may have excessive powder coating, which could prevent a child seat from being installed with the anchorage bars.

      The inability to install a child seat with the LATCH anchorage bars could result in an unsecured child seat, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

      What to do

      Owners are advised to install child seats using the vehicle's rear seat belts until the remedy is complete.

      Dealers will inspect the latch anchorage bars, and remove and replace the finish -- as necessary -- free of charge.

      Notification letters to owners are expected to be mailed June 26, 2023.

      Empower Brands recalls 456,000 PowerXL Stuffed Wafflizers

      Hot pieces of the waffle or stuffing can be expelled from the waffle maker

      Tristar Products, on behalf of Empower Brands, is recalling about 456,000 PowerXL Stuffed Wafflizer waffle makers.

      Hot pieces of the waffle or stuffing can be expelled from the waffle maker during use or upon opening the product, posing a burn risk.

      The firm has received 44 reports of incidents including 34 burn injuries with three requiring medical attention.

      This recall involves PowerXL Model ESWM02 (five inch) and Model ESWM03 (seven inch) Stuffed Wafflizer waffle makers.

      The waffle makers were sold in 11 colors including black, white, red, cinnamon, gray, lavender, lemon, ocean, slate, seafoam and sage with the PowerXL logo on top of the waffle maker.

      The product measures approximately 5 inches in diameter (Model ESWM02), or 7 inches in diameter (Model ESWM03).

      The model numbers and date codes are printed on a tag attached to the power cord, with all date codes included in this recall.

      The waffle makers, manufactured in China, were sold at Walmart, Kohls, Big Lots, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Best Buy, The Home Depot, Target, Sam’s Club and other home goods stores nationwide and online at www.QVC.com, www.walmart.com, www.kohls.com and other websites from July 2021, through October 2022, for between $30 and $60.

      Target recalls nearly five million Threshold candles

      The candle’s jar can crack or break during use, posing laceration and burn hazards.

      Target Corporation of Minneapolis, Minn., is recalling about 4.9 million Threshold Glass Jar Candles.

      The candle’s jar can crack or break during use, posing laceration and burn hazards.

      The firm has received 137 reports of the candle jar breaking or cracking during use. Six injuries were reported, including lacerations and severe burns.

      This recall involves Threshold Glass Jar 5.5 ounce 1-Wick, 14-ounce 3-Wick and 20-ounce 3-Wick Candles in multiple scents.

      A list of the recalled item numbers, which are printed on the bottom of the glass jars, may be found here.

      The glass jar candles, manufactured in Vietnam, were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online at www.target.com from August 2019, through March 2023, for between $3 and $20.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return them to any Target store for a full refund or contact Target to receive a prepaid return label to return the candles by mail.

      Mitsubishi Motors North America is recalling 89,907 model year 2022-2023 Outlanders and model year 2023 Outlander PHEVs.

      Due to a software error in the in-vehicle infotainment system (A-IVI), the backup camera rearview image may not appear on the display.

      A rearview camera that does not display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

      What to do

      Dealers will update the A-IVI software free of charge.

      Owners will be notified by mail starting June 20, 2023.

      BearCare recalls rechargeable Walnut thermometer

      Users may suffer injuries, including skin burns

      BearCare is recalling its rechargeable Walnut Wearable Smart Thermometer, an over-the-counter rechargeable device intended for continuous chest temperature monitoring of children ages 0-6 years.

      Users have reported suffering injuries, including skin burns.

      The device may be failing if users observe any substance leaking from its exterior, any corrosion near the smart sensor on the back of the device, diminished battery life, or connectivity issues with the Walnut App.

      Additionally, a sensation of warming or heat at or near the site or redness and irritation on the skin are also signs of that a device is failing.

      The recalled product, which can be identified by its silicone exterior resembling a cartoon penguin, (1) contains a thermometer unit, (2) base station, (3) adhesive strip, (4) user manual and (5) charging cable as shown in the accompanying photo.

      The Walnut thermometer, model number WT20 and lot number 20221115W002, was sold from December 2022 to April 2023, by Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and www.walnutcares.com.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the product if any of the above signs are observed.

      Chrysler is recalling more than 200,000 Jeep Cherokees over fire risk

      Regulators call it an ‘urgent fire risk’

      Chrysler is recalling 200,000 certain model year 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokee vehicles equipped with a power liftgate. The company says an electrical short in the power liftgate module may lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off.

      The short in the power liftgate module can cause a fire while the vehicle is being driven or parked. 

      “An urgent safety recall has been issued for this vehicle due to the risk of a fire,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in a statement. “Use our VIN lookup tool to see if your vehicle is part of this recall. If your vehicle is part of this recall, the manufacturer has recommended that you follow their instructions on how and where to park this vehicle.”

      Remedy

      Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 30, 2023.

      Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 49A. This recall supersedes recalls 15V-393 and 15V-826. Vehicles repaired under the prior recalls will still need to have the new remedy performed.

      Ford is recalling 310,000 2016 Super Duty trucks

      An electrical issue may prevent proper airbag deployment

      Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 310,000 of its large, construction-capable pickup trucks. Once again, an airbag issue is responsible for the recall.

      Included in the recall are model year 2016  F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks. The issue stems from accumulating dust in a cable that can interfere with an important electrical connection in the steering wheel that can prevent the airbag from inflating properly

      Remedy

      Dealers will replace the steering wheel clock spring, free of charge. An interim owner notification letter informing owners of the safety risk was mailed on July 6, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 1st Quarter of 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S35.

      The blade can protrude while in the original packaging, posing a laceration hazard

      Positec USA of Charlotte, N.C., is recalling about 36,250 Blue Ridge utility knives.

      The utility knife can become unlocked and the blade can protrude while in the original packaging, posing a laceration hazard.

      The firm has received two reports of the blade protruding in the original packaging, both resulting in laceration injuries.

      This recall involves the Blue Ridge Utility Knife with a six-inch retractable blade, and model number BR922OU printed on the back of the package.

      The knife is silver with the Blue Ridge logo printed on it and the packaging is blue and teal with an orange-and-white mountain logo at the top.

      The utility knives, manufactured in China, were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online at www.target.com from August 2022, through February 2023, for about $5.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately and carefully inspect the packaging containing the utility knife to determine whether the blade tip is protruding through the package.

      Carefully remove the knife from the packaging, avoiding the blade tip, and discard the packaging.

      To apply the repair, secure the knife by retracting and locking the knife in the closed position. Once the knife is removed from the packaging, it can be used in typical fashion.

      Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 35,325 model year 2021-2022 ID.4s.

      These vehicles may have been manufactured with door handles that allow water to enter the circuit board assembly, which can cause the doors to open unexpectedly when the vehicle is subject to high lateral forces at speeds below 9 mph/15 kmh.

      A vehicle door that opens unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion increases the risk of injury.

      What to do

      Dealers will update the vehicle software, and inspect the door handles -- as necessary -- free of charge.

      Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 30, 2023.

      American Woodmark recalls 235,00 kitchen cabinets

      The cabinets can detach from the wall, posing an impact hazard.

      American Woodmark Corporation of Winchester, Va., is recalling about 235,000 Continental Cabinets and Hampton Bay Kitchen Wall Cabinets.

      The cabinets can detach from the wall, posing an impact hazard.

      There have been 90 reports of incidents involving 111 cabinets partially separating or detaching from the wall. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Continental Cabinets Kitchen Wall Cabinets with model numbers CBKW3018, CBKW3030, CBKW3036, CBKW3612, CBKW3630 and CBKW3636.

      It also involves Hampton Bay Kitchen Wall Cabinets with model numbers KW3015, KW3018, KW3030, KW3036, KW3612, KW3630 and KW3636.

      The model names and numbers are printed on the product packaging or purchase receipt.

      The cabinets were sold in white, brown, gray and natural wood and range in size from 30 to 36 inches wide and 12 to 36 inches high.

      The recalled cabinets have a stamp on the back of the cabinet showing “BP300 KW1” or “BP300 KW2” and a date stamp of February 2022 through September 2022.

      Because the manufacturing and date codes are not visible once a cabinet is installed, American Woodmark will supply a free repair kit for any of the recalled cabinet models purchased from February 2022 through March 2023.

      The cabinets, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at Ace Hardware, Allied Building Stores, Cimarron Lumber Supply, Do it Best, House Hasson Hardware, HD Supply, True Value Company, and Wurth Wood Group nationwide, and The Home Depot stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virgin Islands (U.S.), Vermont, Washington, DC and West Virginia. and online nationwide.

      The cabinets were sold from February 2022, through March 2023, for between $80 and $265 depending on the cabinet model.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cabinets and contact American Woodmark for a free repair kit which includes two brackets with aesthetic covers and screws. Assistance with the repair kit installation will be provided upon request.

      The driver's air bag inflator may explode

      General Motors is recalling 994,763 model year 2014-2017 Buick Enclaves, Chevrolet Traverses, and GMC Acadias.

      The driver's airbag inflator may explode during deployment, due to a manufacturing defect.

      An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.

      What to do

      Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module free of charge.

      Letters to owners regarding this recall are expected to be mailed June 26, 2023.

      Peloton recalls two million exercise bikes

      The bike’s seat post assembly can break during use

      Peloton Interactive of New York is recalling about 2.2 million Peloton Bikes, model PL01.

      The bike’s seat post assembly can break during use, posing fall and injury hazards to the user.

      The firm has received 35 reports of the seat post breaking and detaching from the bike during use, including 13 reports of injuries including a fractured wrist, lacerations and bruises due to falling.

      This recall involves Peloton Bikes with model number PL01.

      The bike measures 4 ft. long x 2 ft. wide, and has an adjustable seat, handlebar, and screen, which tilts up and down to accommodate different heights.

      The Peloton name and the model number are displayed on the inside front fork, near the flywheel.

      The exercise bikes, manufactured in Taiwan, were sold at Peloton and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide and online at Onepeloton.com, Amazon.com and Dicksportinggoods.com from January 2018, through May 2023, for about $1,400.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled exercise bikes and contact Peloton for a free repair. Peloton is offering consumers a free seat post that can be self-installed.
