    More than 400,000 Kias recalled over air bag defect

    The air bags may not deploy

    Kia Motors America is recalling 410,619 model year 2017-2019 Sedonas, Souls & Soul EVs, model year 2017-2018 Fortes, and model year 2017 Forte Koups.

    The AirBag Control Unit (ACU) cover may contact a memory chip on the printed circuit board and damage the electrical circuit. Circuit damage may result in deactivated air bags that will not deploy in a crash.

    Air bags that do not deploy as intended can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

    What to do

    Dealers will inspect the ACU and either update the software or replace the unit as necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge.

    Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on March 21, 2022.

    Empowered Diagnostics recalls two COVID-19 tests

    The products have not been approved by the FDA for use in the U.S.

    Empowered Diagnostics is recalling its CovClear COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test and ImmunoPass COVID-19 Neutralizing Antibody Rapid Test.

    Although the tests were distributed with labeling indicating that they are authorized by the FDA, neither has been authorized, cleared, or approved by the agency for distribution or use in the U.S.

    Officials are concerned about the potentially higher risk of false results.

    The CovClear test uses a nasal swab sample to detect proteins, called antigens, from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

    The ImmunoPass test uses a fingerstick blood sample to detect antibodies produced by a person’s immune system in response to SARS-CoV-2.

    What to do

    Consumers who purchased the recalled products are advised by the FDA not to use them.

      The products may contain milk, an allergen not declared on the label milk. There have been no reports of illness to date.

      The lot code and expiration date of the product are on the bottom of the container.

      What to do

      Customers with a milk allergy or sensitivity who purchased the affected products should not consume them. Instead, they should discard or return them to the place of purchase.

      Geri-Care Pharmaceuticals, of Brooklyn, N.Y., is recalling about 800 bottles of over-the-counter drugs.

      The packaging of the products is not child-resistant, posing a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.

      No incidents or illnesses are reported.

      This recall involves bottles of Geri-Care Brand over-the-counter acetaminophen and aspirin. A list of the recalled products may be found here.

      The unsealed cooktop may cause burner flames to invert

      Forest River is recalling 1,097 model year 2021-2022 Coachmen Catalina and Forest River Aurora travel trailers under an expansion of an earlier recall.

      The panel that isolates the cooktop from the furnace was not properly sealed during manufacturing, which could result in an inverted cooktop flame.

      An inverted flame can increase the risk of a fire.

      What to do

      Dealers will seal the furnace from the cooktop free of charge.

      Aoskera recalls children’s nightgowns

      The garments fail to meet flammability standards

      Aoskera of China is recalling about 1,000 children’s nightgowns.

      The recalled garments fail to meet flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries.

      No injuries are reported to date.

      This recall involves children’s long-sleeved nightgowns made of 100% cotton and sold in children’s sizes 3-4T, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14.

      The nightgowns were manufactured in three different strawberry-themed prints: White Allover Strawberry Print, Pink Allover Strawberry Print, and Pink Strawberry Print.

      The garments have an affixed hangtag that states “MAM DAD KIDS Made In China.”

      The nightgowns were sold online at Amazon.com from October 2020, through May 2021, for between $16 and $25.

      What do do

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled nightgowns away from children and stop using them.

      Consumers who purchased the garments from Amazon.com will be contacted through Amazon’s messaging platform and provided with prepaid mailers to return the products for a full refund.

      Childrensalon is recalling about 180 sets of children’s sleepwear.

      The garments fail to meet U.S. flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      The garments, manufactured in India, Europe, and China, were sold online at www.childrensalon.com from April 2019, through February 2021, for between $35 and $54.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the garments, take them away from children, and contact Childrensalon for instructions on returning them.

      Childrensalon will contact all known purchasers and provide prepaid return mailers. Upon return, Childrensalon will refund the purchase price.

      A software error may cause unintentional vehicle movement

      Daimler Vans USA (DVUSA) is recalling 48,400 model year 2019-2021 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter vans.

      A software error in the park lock system may allow the vehicle to move after the gear selector has been placed in the Park 'P' position without the parking brake applied.

      Unintentional vehicle movement can increase the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Dealers will update the electronic stability program control unit software free of charge.

      Mushie recalls FRIGG silicone pacifiers

      The nipple can detach from the plastic shield, posing a choking hazard

      Mushie & Co. of Houston, Texas, is recalling about 333,725 FRIGG silicone pacifiers.

      The base of the silicone nipple has a fine slit that can cause the nipple to detach from the plastic shield, posing a choking hazard.

      The firm has received eight reports of the silicone nipple detaching from the plastic shield of the pacifier.

      In addition, the manufacturer has received about 200 reports from outside the U.S. of the silicone nipple detaching from the plastic shield of the pacifier. No injuries have been reported.

      The FRIGG silicone pacifiers come in Classic and Daisy designs and were sold in over 40 colors.

      The Classic design consists of a silicone nipple attached to a round plastic shield. The Daisy design consists of a silicone nipple attached to a round scalloped plastic shield. Each design comes in two sizes: 0–6 months and 6–18 months.

      The name "FRIGG" appears in raised letters on the handle of the pacifier shield. 

      The pacifiers, manufactured in Denmark, were sold at SpearmintLOVE, TJ Maxx, Lil' Tulips, Olivia & Jade Company stores nationwide, and online at www.mushie.com and www.amazon.com from April 2021, through December 2021, for about $8 for a single pacifier and about $15 for a pack of two

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pacifiers and contact the firm for a full refund or credit.

      To obtain a full refund or credit, consumers should cut the silicone nipple from the base of the pacifier and send a photograph of both the detached silicone nipple and the base of the pacifier to Mushie & Co at: mushie.com/pages/recalls.       Cracks may develop in the rear tires

      Bugatti is recalling nine model year 2021-2022 Chiron Pur Sport vehicles.

      After 2,500 miles of usage, the rear tires may develop cracks.

      Cracks in the rear tires may result in rapid loss of tire pressure, which can lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      As an interim repair, dealers will replace the rear tires on the affected vehicles every 1,875 miles or when the tire age reaches 1.5 years. Once newly designed tires are available, the tires will be replaced again. Repairs will be performed free of charge.

      Owners with tires that have already reached 2,500 miles or 1.5 years should not drive their vehicle until the tires are replaced. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in January 2022.

      The product contains wheat, an allergen not declared on the label.

      There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.

      The following frozen, heat-treated, not fully cooked item, produced between December 9, 2021, and January 3, 2022, is being recalled:

      • 12-inch, 25-oz. plastic-wrapped “KETTLE RIVER Chicken Alfredo Pizza” with lot codes “21343, 21349, 21362 or 22011” stamped on the bottom of the product packaging.

      The recalled product, bearing the establishment number “P-04203” inside the USDA mark of inspection, was shipped to retail and restaurant locations, as well as fundraiser programs in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

      What to do

      Customers with an allergy or sensitivity to wheat who purchased the recalled product should not consume it. Instead, they should discard or return it to the place of purchase.

      Textron Specialized Vehicles recalls PTVs

      The rear seat can tilt unexpectedly, posing a fall hazards to riders

      Textron Specialized Vehicles of Augusta, Ga., is recalling about 280 E-Z-GO Freedom RXV with rear-facing seat Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTVs).

      The rear seat structure can fail, resulting in the rear seat tilting unexpectedly, posing fall and injury hazards to riders.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves model-year 2022 E-Z-GO Freedom RXV ELiTE, Freedom RXV Gas, and Freedom RXV 48V personal transportation vehicles with a rear-facing seat.

      Recalled units have serial numbers within the range of 5633701 to 5651753 that can be found near the base of the steering column. The vehicles are commonly referred to as golf carts or golf cars and are used primarily to transport people.

      The PTVs, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at E-Z-GO dealerships nationwide and online via E-Z-GO’s Dealer to Driveway program, from August 2021, through December 2021, for between $9,900 and $17,450.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the rear-facing seat of their recalled vehicle and contact Textron for a free repair.

      Textron Specialized Vehicles is contacting all purchasers directly to coordinate a free repair program with dealers to inspect and replace the recalled vehicle’s rear seat frame.

      HulovoX recalls children’s robes

      The garments do not meet federal flammability standards

      HulovoX of Zhejiang, China, is recalling about 3,500 children’s robes.

      The garments fail to meet flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries. No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves children’s long-sleeved robes made of 100% micro-polyester and available in sizes 3T through 12.

      The robes were sold in 22 multicolored tie-dye and rainbow colorways and have a sewn-in side seam belt and internal button closure. Some have a hood with unicorn décor features such as a mane, ears, and horn.

      The sewn-in neck label states the fiber content, washing instructions, “Made in China,” and the garment’s size.

      The robes were sold online at Amazon.com from January 2021, through May 2021, for about $30.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled robes away from children and stop using them.

      Those who purchased the garments from Amazon.com will be contacted through Amazon’s messaging platform and provided with prepaid mailers to return the products for a refund.

      The product may have elevated levels of histamine

      Relish Food of El Segundo, Calif., is recalling frozen Pacific Fusion Brand Tuna Steaks.

      The product may have elevated levels of histamine, which can produce an allergic reaction called scombroid fish poisoning.

      Symptoms, which include a tingling or burning sensation in the mouth, facial swelling, rash, hives and itchy skin, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, can appear within minutes to several hours.

      The frozen 10-oz tuna steaks, with a Best Before date of July 2023, were sold at Save Mart Supermarkets and Lucky Stores in Northern California.
