On several occasions, I have my managed sites edited without my access and authorization. I contacted their support department and nothing ever happens. No one at WIX can explain why our business websites are being altered or possibly even hacked. I have been a client for more than several years. I would not suggest using this service and we are looking for other alternatives.
Very limited file types can be uploaded - buy some other product. PowerPoint slideshow file cannot be uploaded... Only PowerPoint files. This allows people to download and modify your presentation… Or competitors to change it and use it for them. CRAZY!!! Why do they think that Microsoft developed the .ppsx files??? Because the business world demanded them... Stand-alone slide shows.
I am 100% fed up with Wix! I spend hours updating my site only to have changes randomly not show up at any given time. I'm a premium member and don't feel I'm getting what I pay for. There is absolutely NO customer service or support and once my contract is up I'm done!
I was ok with the use of the web tools and the website. But try to get customer service or help. I would call it HELPLESS. NO HELP. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is the WORST customer service I have had in my entire life. You pay quite a price to use this so you think they would be helpful. Well they are not. NO NOT USE THEM. I am still having trouble getting ahold of them.
My site loads SLOW - which from the looks online, is not the only one. Want customer service? Good luck. I used to be able to call in and ask a question. Now - they hang up on you, and tell you to open a website ticket. I did that, no callback. I am at a loss what to do. They use proprietary code, so you can't transfer the content to another hosting company. It looks like I will just have to re-design my site somewhere else. LAME!

My wife has a blog and the standard comments app only provides a total of 10 comments Therefore you have to upgrade. To get unlimited comments. This is a nickel and dime you to death website builder app. Comments app $48 a year for what? Should have used BlogSpot for free.
Having issues getting my website to load. It gives an error message once you're on the site. You also have to map your site to google yourself. Which can be a headache if you're not tech savvy. You can't contact Wix directly, you have to send them a looong detailed message of all the avenues you tried before they will give you a callback. What a waste of almost 300 dollars. I do not recommend Wix!
I just finished my site and tried to publish it. I need a cert. to publish and it's not working, so I tried contacting the company, but you can't. There is no customer service, the phone is a shame, no idea how to submit a ticket, and the help section of the site says nothing about these certs.
I was a customer of Wix for a few years and built what I thought was a beautiful website, but don't get sucked in. There's a very dark side to this business. Once they have you, and your bank account, you belong to them. I found I could no longer afford my yearly subscription with Wix, so I canceled my renewal and read about the procedures to return to monthly. It's purposely designed to be extremely complex, and, well, impossible. It doesn't matter how many emails you send (no phone #), it's basically artificial intelligence responding with a human occasionally following a script and not actually addressing the issues.
EVEN THOUGH I CANCELLED, AND RECEIVED A COMPUTER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF SUCH, THEY HAVE CHARGED MY DEBIT CARD for TWO yearly subscriptions - A TOTAL OF $400. Of course it's in dispute with my bank, but I have no access to those funds until it's resolved. In my world, that means no one else is getting paid until I get my money back. One day after the subscription ended, they dropped my website, which is my business. My bank cancelled my debit card and reissued to protect me from further theft. My only hope now is that they will recover my money. The least I can do is let as many people know about my experience (and many others here, it appears) before they fall into the Wix Pit.
Squarespace and Weebly still blow this place out of the water. A couple friends recently invested in professional services sites here (through the help of a graphic designer of course) and they turned out super (but with the pull of that pro). And I've held a site or two here, a few years back. But that was THEN. Recently attempted a new domain, but it took nearly an HOUR just to upload a few photos and edit the homepage. It's never taken me longer than 20-30 minutes if that. In spite their "help" sections stating how easy peasy it is to navigate and create, they don't work. I recommend Squarespace or even Weebly.
Perhaps anyone reading these reviews can see the pattern of the ratings going from 5 stars to 1 star. What changed? Wix no longer offers ANY customer support. None. Just their pre developed help pages, which are pretty useless. It was great to start with them, I developed three websites with their system and a bit of help from their live reps, which were great, when they had them. Now I guess we're stuck as from what I read they also make it very hard to migrate from them as web host. Bait and switch. I feel really bad. Annoying. STAY AWAY FROM WIX!
I have been facing so many issues with my website, it's been more than a month. Is very hard to reach anyone to get help, and once you get it, it's only an automatic reply. I am so DISAPPOINTED. I am losing clients because I am unable to make updates on my website. I DO NOT RECOMMENDED WIX.
I would like to write my experience with this company called Wix. It's the company to help you build a website for your business. I've been with this for many months now and had not realized oh my business account they were overcharging me for my website. I've made several attempts to contact this company but was unable to contact them so on July of 2017 I had decided when I noticed the charges to contact them. Was unsuccessful so I contacted my bank to request that they add those fees back. Why should I pay for a company services twice! Why should I allow company to overcharge me for my business?
So because I requested the overcharges back Wix decided to shut my website down without any further notice! After that I've made several attempts to try to contact this company by email and also by phone. They reply back stating that I did not submit an email to have anyone contact me and also to clarify justification of why I was charged several times but the explanation did not add up to what my bank statement stated. So I provided them a whole year of bank statements to confirm how they were charging me! They refused to call back or respond to any of my emails!
And that this point my website is actually shut down for my company! So not only did this company ripped me off with my money for many months! They also shut my website down and refused to contact me and I am losing a lot of money because of this company! I would not suggest anyone who's developing a business to go through this company at all! Their customer service is crappy! They do not care about your services. They're only out to get your money! I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission and also the Attorney General's office as well! People save yourself the trouble. Find another company to use. This company is a nightmare!!!
Hi, I've tried to pay for a premium account. After all done, the domain connected and the site builded with contents on, Wix decided that my payment wasn't secure so they've made a refund and blocked my account. The refund will take 20 working days!!! Now I've changed tickets for 4 days, and on the day that the telephone support opened (Wednesdays) the guy tells me that they will send an e-mail asking some questions to verify that I really own my credit card, and then I will have to wait 72 hours, and then I would be able to connect my domain, that takes up to 48h to propagate. This is insane!
I have had two websites with Wix this past year. One site was not renewed correctly and was messed up by a so called experienced live technical support person. Whatever they did create a nightmare of an experience. I have written way over 60 emails begging for help. No live tech support now to correct what this person did. My domain I brought over from another hosting company was managed by WIX this past year, and now was not published and not connected. WIX assigned another domain name which is not good. My business has suffered from patients not being able to download forms from my previous website.
WIX fraudulently advertises 24/7 customer support but hardly any of the people who answer the emails understand English and can fix problems. This has been a horrible experience and would never recommend anyone signing up with WIX.com especially if they need customer support. I am now forced to go with another hosting company and see if I can reclaim my original web domain name. Buyer beware there are so many problems with WIX.COM and if you do get someone live to help you, make sure they know what they are doing. Also, they are timed and always seem to race with the clock about how long they are spending on trying to help you. WIX.COM seems more interested in making money than they are in helping their customers.
WIX.COM provides the poorest quality support I have ever encountered in any business I have dealt with. Stay away. I pray that my other website is able to function properly, or I will be moving my other website as well. No one at WIX seems to care about retaining any professional integrity and concerns about difficulties WIX has perpetuated. How they stay in business is a mystery to me. Probably numbers means more to WIX owners than helping current customers resolve problems. Seems like a simple problem could have been resolved easily, if someone would have taken the time. I will be filing a dispute on my credit card against WIX.COM and moving this one site elsewhere.
I've had many issues with Wix over the past couple years of use. But, I stick with them because they make it very hard to transfer your website. I've put hundreds of hours into it and refuse to start over until I must. I wish I had never started with them in the first place! Every time I've had an issue, customer service has been slow, very rude, and unhelpful. Each reply would be from someone different, so I'd have to re-explain my issue several times before having it addressed.
One time, they shut down my entire site for a week simply because a competitor complained we had their name on our website. Their name is Shower Door Experts. Our name is Noble Shower Doors, so those three words are used on our website, but the complaint was bogus. It took so much effort. Over 4-5 days before they would even tell me why they removed the site. Then they restored an incorrect website. Then a previous version of the website from about 6 months and 100+ hours ago. Then I was told the website was deleted. I kept emailing them until finally someone answered who wasn't nasty and rude. That person listened to my issue, found out the complaint was bogus, and finally restored my website after 7-8 horrible days! DO NOT USE WIX!
Stay far away from Wix! They are a scam. I moved my web hosting to Wix one afternoon, and had a quick question that could not be answered on help pages. Within a few hours, I realized that they had no customer support. If you call the phone number it directs you to the website help pages. They say that you can sign up for a callback, but in the days that I went back to the website to find that magic button, there was none. By the end of the day, I had canceled my account. That would have been within the window of contract cancellation permitted under state law, except that Wix does not adhere to state laws. (They don't seem to have to because few customers are going to take the time to sue.)
I have been calling, emailing (received canned answers that did not reply to my questions); trying to get them to release my domain name for two months. Nothing. The current registrar refuses to help (Network Solutions, that's you!) because they are controlled by Wix for its customers. Wix is nothing more than a shell that takes customer money and scams people. Then they do not follow up or call back. I wish I had read their Twitter feed before starting the sign-up process, because every Tweet from customers is a complaint about how terrible the company is. I suggest that consumers try another site. Squarespace has good reviews mostly and GoDaddy has been great for me.
I am so disappointed in Wix. They used to have a great customer support. Now they just email you to click on help. What kind of support is that? I wished I used a different provider. My site is down for 2 days and they say it is good on their site. Not anywhere else. This is going to cost my business mega $$$. I sent at least 4 emails to support and got 4 useless answers back "Click here". There is no person to talk to! Now I have to find somebody who can build my new website quickly so I don't have to lose my business due to no support from Wix.
A phone number for technical support directs you to the website. This one factor makes them useless. One support person, in the prehistoric days when you could get to someone, had me delete my email library thus I lost all of my customer contacts. I called a manager or some mucky muck and he gave me almost nothing for this huge loss for me. I got a free hosting for three months at about $8. Generally, I would call them names but suffice it to say that in the days we are discovering that companies don't care one bit about service but will take your money, Wix is about the prime example. They are really bad in customer support, really bad. No phone help, No Chat, No weekend anything. Business hours only and still, no chat or phone help. Ignorant support help in their "prehistoric" times.
It seems to only get worse as time goes on. Can cost you a bundle if you don't understand the use of a library and a support ignoramus tell you to toss it. All in all, if you are a Mac user especially, avoid them like the plague if you need assistance from time to time and especially if you do work past dopey business hours since the Internet is on 24/7 and some people work like I do, into the wee hours. Bad, very bad!
Wix.com non existent customer support. I've been trying to reach them for weeks. Their phone number doesn't work or you get an answering machine during business hours saying the office is closed. I spent hours trying to locate a number/reach them. It's been a nightmare. I ended up disputing the yearly fee.
Their customers support is awful! Their technical support is like talking to a computer that gives you a bunch of information but doesn't solve your problem. I build websites and was introduced to Wix through one of my clients for a makeover. Their design are hip, easy to use with lots of bells and whistles and add-ons (which you pay for). I was using Weebly, hosting on iPower before. They were exceptional in every way and it I had no issues getting in touch with them, (oh! And same price!), but I felt Wix had slightly better templates and ways of designing so I decided to make the switch with my own personal site.
Transferring my domain has been a nightmare. All the necessary steps were made with iPower, but Wix kept on giving me an error saying I had to confirm the transfer through an email which I never got. They made it so difficult to get in touch with them. They say their business hours are 6am-5pm Pacific Standard Time Mon-Thurs, but I called at 12pm on a Thurs and they were closed. I've contacted their support desk through email, got a bunch of info but never got a solution to my problem.
Now they're saying the email (that I never received and which I regenerated multiple times), expires after 5 days (tomorrow) and I'll have to begin the transfer process again. At this point, I may just decide to point my domain to Wix rather than deal with all that BS again. Also, I have another domain which I was thinking of transferring to Wix to point it to a specific page on my site. You can't do that! It can only point to your Home Page. They deserve ** for their designs but zero for hosting and support! I really regret the switch!
I have used WIX for 7 years and in the last month their customer service is negligible and the fate of the company in question. WIX changed from M-F service days to M-Th. There is NO MORE live support. They do not return calls, reverted to sending text messages that is of no use, and doesn't return phone calls. On social the person replying is polite but of NO USE. The solutions they provide come via a link to a generic reply. People are calling because they need to speak to a LIVE person, not a BOT. Submitting help requires drilling down to find where one can submit a help request. I have found nothing but complaints on their social channels. WTF is going on. I will no longer refer clients to WIX and recommending their websites be built in another competitor platform. In my book, they are going belly up and taking everyone down with them.
I have bragged over the years about WIX's customer service - it WAS great. Now customer service is nonexistent! I have made attempts to contact WIX for over one month now to no avail. I have tried every means available. I have even filed with the BBB - to be fair on this point, its only been one day since I filed. I loved their templates and apps and my finished websites. Before this situation, I would have given them five stars. I have questions that need to be answered and no one to contact. Any means of contact are merely a runaround. WIX if you are still operating your business, I hope you start having humans answer the phones again, email, etc. You used to be the best.
I like that Wix provided many design options that were easy to use and didn't require a lot of prior knowledge to use and build your web page. The sites overall quality is very well put together and I would recommend to others who are looking for a simple way to build a nice web page. Wix is both a free site as well as paid for certain applications within the site. One does not have to pay to make their web page, but if you wish to purchase your own URL then you must pay through Wix which also allows upgraded functions. Wix was a very well functioning website that was easy to use and presented very few problems for me.
They provide a very broad selection of design options. From basic designs to complex designs. The variety allows for a very unique design and shows that everyone can have their own website. I've had no issues utilizing this program. Very high quality designs. A lot of bang for your buck. Nothing seems or looks cheap. They really went out of their way in providing top notch design options.
The price was very reasonable compared to other website building services. The variety of options justify the price given to the consumer. I fell they will get a lot investing in this product for years to come. The customer service line is very well handled. Agents are knowledgeable and the interface is very easy to navigate. It does not take too long to either troubleshoot an issue or have any inquiries answered.
Gives me lots of variety to choose from from setup to fonts and such, this is such a great website to use especially for a beginner builder such as myself. The quality is pretty good. I've had no problems with this site so far and do not anticipate any in the near future. The cost of this builder site is pretty reasonable. This is hopefully very helpful to others who are looking into using this site. Customer support has been great and they are ready and quick to help you in need of assistance. I've only had to ask for help two times and both times they fixed my issues.
They give you options and are very good at what they do. I would recommend that people check it out. If they seen the ad people are going to be willing to check out and maybe try it like I did. Their quality of work is one of the main reason why I gave them a shot and I have been with them ever since and I wouldn't go to any other now that I have tried them out. The price is another reason I changed to them. It was a good idea for me to try them out and a very good business decision on my behalf and I wouldn't change a thing different. That is why I would recommend people to try it out. Their customer support is awesome and yet again another reason why I really believe that if others would just look into it they would feel the same way I do about it. Very smart business decision.
There are a ton different website templates to choose from. I could choose from a family blog, a book blog, travel blog. And then after you choose you can personalize it to your tastes. It was very easy to use and I had no problem figuring it out. The site looks great, even the free version. There are so many different tools to use and they make the process so easy. To look at the website I would never know that it was free, I thought that it was one that you had to pay a high fee.
I only have experience with the free version and of course that it amazing. There are so many tools for it that are free that I see no need to upgrade as I am only using it as a blog. But if I want to have my own personal domain name and such I would totally upgrade to the paid version. I was a bit confused about how to set up a few things and customer service was great! They were patient and they got back to me very quickly. They made everything easy to understand and they were not at all impatient or acting like I was asking stupid questions.
The variety designs is amazing, almost overwhelming in a good way. There are so many different and fun ones. They will have one to fulfill your needs. The quality of work is great. There are so many easy instructions and it is like they really care about your site. I love it. You won't spend hours on it. It is fast. The prices vary of course, but that is with everything. In my opinion the prices are very fair for what you get. You can pick different price ranges. They are 110% amazing. They answer every questions and find out the best way to make your site fit you. They really care. It is like they are sitting next to you helping.
It has many templates to work from and get ideas which can be helpful for beginner or someone doesn't have a lot of experience. I find it very inspiring to work with the site. The quality is compatible with other site that help built website. I find this site help me with what I need and at times give me ideas to improve what I have in mind. Although there are some of those web hosting site that is cheaper than this one, I come to learn to like to work with this website. I try to get all I can do with the price I paid. I don't have any major issues with customer support like others' customer support. It is one of the main reason I choose to work with somebody. After all a good company needs to have a good customer support in order to keep the customer.
