Panola County Processing, recalls sausage links

The products may be underprocessed

Panola County Processing of Carthage, Texas, is recalling approximately 59 pounds of smoked sausage links.

A processing deviation may have led to underprocessing of the products.

There are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The following venison and pork items, produced on Jan. 29, 2019, are being recalled:

  • 1.3-lb. vacuum-packed packages containing four pieces of “PANOLA COUNTY PROCESSING, LLC Pork Smoked Sausage PC” with packaging dates of Jan. 30, 2019 and Jan. 31, 2019.
  • 1.3-lb. vacuum-packed packages containing four pieces of “PANOLA COUNTY PROCESSING, LLC Pork Hot Smoked Sausage PC” with packaging date of Jan. 31, 2019.
  • 1.3-lb. vacuum-packed packages containing four pieces of “PANOLA COUNTY PROCESSING, LLC Venison & Pork Smoked Sausage PC” with packaging date of Jan. 31, 2019.
  • 1.3-lb. vacuum-packed packages containing four pieces of “PANOLA COUNTY PROCESSING, LLC Venison & Pork Hot Smoked Sausage PC” with packaging date of Jan. 31, 2019.

The recalled products, bearing establishment number “EST. 48219” inside the USDA mark of inspection, were distributed to a retail location in Texas.

What to do

Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
