PhotoHyundai Motor America is recalling 154,753 model year 2011 Sonatas. In the event of a crash, the airbag control unit (ACU) may short circuit, preventing the front airbags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags from deploying.

If the front air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side airbags are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash.

The remedy for this recall is still under development.

The recall is expected to begin April 20, 2018.
