Wake up and smell the coffee, kids, because this Friday it’s free, or darn near. This Friday is September 29 and that date is reserved – forever, we might add – for National Coffee Day. Lucky for you, some chains have already started their promotions.
The deals are a’plenty, so let’s do ‘em up A-Z style...
Biggby Coffee: You can get a 20 oz hot or iced coffee on Sept. 29 for free and with no purchase necessary.
Circle K: You’ll need the app for this, but you can score a free cup of coffee through October 2 at the store. The free cup can be redeemed through the “Deals” tab. Sorry, but everyone is limited to one freebie per person total for the duration of the promotion – not per day.
Duck Donuts: A nearly $5 deal, the Ducksters are giving away a medium hot coffee or cold brew with purchase but only in person and only on Sept. 29.
Dunkin’: If you’re a Dunkin’ Rewards member, you can score a free medium hot or iced coffee on Sept. 29. One to the customer, available on-app or in person.
McDonald’s: Ronald’s not celebrating the holiday, but it does remind everyone that they can get 99-cent coffee (brewed or iced) every day by ordering through the app.
Paris Baguette: Free coffee from now through Oct. 1 for Rewards members. One per person.
Perkins (the pancake people): Now through Oct. 1, customers can get a 20% discount on coffee bags and K-Cups from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1, but not from the menu. Good only at participating Perkins restaurants.
Pilot/Flying J: This set of truckstop’ish twins is offering any size cup o’ Joe you want for free on Sept. 29, but only via the myRewards app.
Potbelly: No free Joe, but Rewards members will receive double points on purchases with a Cold Brew Shake from up until Oct. 1.
Scooters Coffee: Free coffee every day in September. One per visit.
Sheetz: Sheetz is commemorating National Coffee Day and International Coffee Day (on Oct. 1) with a free any-size cold brew or nitro cold brew with any purchase you make via the Sheetz app.
Shipley Do-Nuts: Free medium hot or iced coffee when you buy something else on Sept. 29.
Starbucks: Well, Starbucks says Sept. 29 is national Starbucks day, not National Coffee Day and from all the places ConsumerAffairs checked, there are no specials there. However, select Starbucks stores are said to be hosting a free coffee tasting for customers.
Stewart’s Shops: Free coffee almost any way you want it – hot, iced, or cold brewed – from noon to close on Sept. 29. In-person only.
Wendy’s: 99-cent hot or iced small coffee up until Oct. 1, but the order has to be made through the restaurant’s app.
White Castle: If you have White Castle’s app, there should be a coupon there for a free small coffee from through Oct. 1.
